Friday and A Winter Weather Advisory

I slept poorly last night just when I thought I was sleeping so well lately. I was too tired and really hadn't done all that much except the vacuuming. I will need to finish that this morning. I still have the living room and dining room to do. I just played out yesterday and didn't want to take a chance on the vacuum sweeper shutting down again. It gets full of carpet fibers. It's almost worse then the dirt it used to have in it after I finished.

I have made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I have even had my breakfast and coffee and am trying something new that I bought in Coffeyville Wednesday. It is called Vanilla Latte. I have drunk the two pods of Chai Latte that Marilyn gave me.

I see in the Chronicle that they have decided that scum bag that shot and killed Johnna's husband, Greg,  is incompetent to try for his murder. They will put him in a mental institution for the rest of his life.  That's a shame. He was competent enough to kill Greg.

I will go check out "the weather on the 8's" and see if the cats are out there waiting for their breakfast.

Both cats were out there but neither of them ate much.

I see we are under a winter weather advisory. Tomorrow we are forecast for freezing rain. Well it will be 2022 tomorrow and it is winter. I just am not looking forward to it.

I worked on another puzzle for a couple of hours this afternoon and finally realized I had not had lunch so I went down to Copan to the Copan Truck Stop and had my iced tea and the small chef salad.

Then I came back home and my landlord was next door so I took the rent check over to him and visited awhile with them. They are only going to use the apartment next door when they come to see their grandchildren who live here. They are staying in Owasso at their home there most of the time. They said they would probably just use the apartment a couple of days a week. He did change two light bulbs for me. I visited with them awhile. They are very nice people. They said they would paint the paneling in the living room if I wanted them to, They painted theirs a light grey and I like it very much. It brightens up the room a lot.

He changed a couple of burned out light bulbs for me and offered to install a ceiling fan in the bedroom.

They have decided they won't sell their Owasso home. They are disappointed there aren't any nice restaurants in the area.

It is 4:38PM now. I won't be needing any supper..that's for sure.

More later...

I worked on the puzzle a couple of hours and then at 7:00PM I took my bath. Afterward I was going to read again but the Kindle needed to be charged again.

I had planned to read. I am tired of working on the puzzle this evening.

I will go to bed early this evening..probably about 9:00PM.

Thursday and a Crown

I slept well again last night but was up an hour earlier then usual. I am anticipating getting my new crown at 7:30AM this morning. I am dressed and just getting ready to start eating my breakfast. It's only 5:12AM so I am well ahead of the time. But I would always rather be early them late anywhere.

In a little while I will watch the "weather on the 8's" and in an hour I will check on the cats.

The new hearing aide seems to be working alright. After I have work it a few days I will know for sure.

One of these days I will have to charge the Fitnus again. It's down to 44%. Now I accidentally lost the notification on my phone.  I can't figure out how to connect it to my phone again. I will have to get Leslie to do it again. It's something about an app. Technology! I am lost as usual.

I will go turn on the weather now.

 More later....

I washed my car in Coffeyville yesterday and it's misting today so that was a waste of $5.00.

I got my new crown though and it matches perfectly. I couldn't even tell which one was the crown if I didn't know it was a bicuspid.

Anyhow is seems it is going to be a messy day.

More even later. I'm going to go work a puzzle and read awhile.

I got the puzzle finished!

 May be art of indoor

My next  door neighbor, my landlord and landlady are getting their carpet today. It's just like mine.

I had a frozen meal for lunch and then I read most of the afternoon and then about 4:00PM, I went to Sonic and bought a Sonic blast for supper. Suzanne had given me a $20.00 Sonic card for Christmas. I have been using it for my cherry limeade slushes.

Blondie came for his supper but I didn't see Scruff. Hopefully someone is feeding her besides me.

Now I will go back and read another book.
I ended up going on the bed at 9:00PM. I was just too tired to stay up any later.

Wednesday and Hair Day

I slept well last night but did wake up once but got right back to sleep.  I was up at 5:00AM or shortly after and got myself ready for the day. I am having my breakfast now. It is shortly after 6:00AM.

I will leave for Coffeyville about 8:15AM. My appointment is at 9:00AM and it's time for my color and cut so I will be there awhile. Before my appointment I will stop at Sonic and get a cherry limeade slush. That will get me some change for my hair appointment. I don't believe there's anything going on at the senior center today. If there was, it would be Bunco. I will call Janet and find out after I get to Coffeyville.

I will stop by Wal Mart there and pick up a couple of things the market here doesn't carry.

Then I will stop by Marilyn's and pick up the Chai she wants to give me and visit awhile.

I am wearing my new hearing aide this morning and I will have to remember to take it out before Toni starts on my hair. I will take the case and leave it in the car.

It's 6:15AM now and I will go turn on the TV and check the weather and also check out the cats. They didn't come at all yesterday so unless someone else is feeding them too, they will be very hungry.

I also want to wash my car. It rained on it yesterday and every truck that passed me threw filthy water on it.

Both cats were there and they acted like they were starving!

I watched the CBS news until almost 8:00AM and then I got ready to leave for Coffeyville.

So more even later...

I left for Coffeyville shortly before 8:15AM and got my errands done before my hair appointment, I left my sacks at Genesis and went out to Wal Mart to get what I couldn't get at the Caney Market.

Then I stopped by Marilyn's and visited with her for an hour. She gave me some Chai and some Creamy Hazelnut coffee.

I stopped by US Cellular to see if they had the deal that was on TV where they would give folks who were already their customers a smart phone free of charge. They didn't seem to know anything about it. I saw it advertised on TV.

Then I came back home and put away my groceries.

I am listening to some Kenny Rogers music while I scan my laptop computer for issues. My AVG has been updated on that computer.

I need to update the Glary Utilities on both computers.

I got that done.Glary Utilities fixes a lot of messes on the computers...and it's free.

My landlord called to say the carpet layers decided to come tomorrow instead of today. So I guess the landlord will be here to watch them lay it to be sure they do it correctly.

I have been eating all evening one thing and then the other and working on the puzzle It's coming right along. I worked on it a couple of ours this afternoon.I had an ice cream bar and Marilyn sent me home with a bag of Chex and I ate that too. That had better be the last of all of that or I will surely gain more weight.

Both cats came for supper one at a time. Blondie came first and I fed him. After he finished, I was going to bring the food back in the garage but then Scruff was out there so I left it for her until she finished and left. Then I took it back in. I had left a bowl of fresh water yesterday ad she drank quite a bit of it.

It is 6:15PM now and soon I will take my bath. I will read awhile before I go to bed.

Tuesday and An Appointment

I slept well again last night and before I went to bed, I finished another book. I never woke up in the night even once. I was up at 5:00AM as usual. I took my meds this morning. I have made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I am eating my breakfast now and having my coffee.

It has rained most of the night.

At 10:00AM I will go down to see Nancy. I will probably need my umbrella. Yesterday I gave Rudy Nancy's address so they can send her the Chronicle. I will probably eat lunch at Eggbert's down there and at 3:00PM I have an appointment with the audiologist. She will finally fit my hearing aide and test my hearing again so she can adjust it. That's another $75.00 for the test. Getting the hearing aide repaired was $350. And I had to pay that when they sent it in to the factory. Always something. Then on the 30th, I will get my crown. That's already paid for too in advance... thank goodness. Oh well, I can't take it with me.

It's 6:15AM now.  I will go check out the weather.

So more later...

No cats this morning but of course, it's raining. They aren't coming out in the rain and get soaked.

It;s supposed to rain most of the day and Friday too.

I left to go visit with Nancy at 9:30AM and got there by 10:00AM we visited until noon and then I left and went to eat at Eggbert's before my appointment. Then I drove around the mall to see what was left there....certainly not much!

I had a great surprise when I got to my appointment. The factory couldn't fix my hearing aid so the factory sent me a new one. I paid $350. to have it fixed and outside of the office call of $75. there was no additional charge. The audiologist adjusted it on her computer and got it clear as a bell. This one has an adjustment I can make if I want it to be louder or softer. The one I had didn't have that adjustment. She also gave me a couple of ear pieces (the part that fits into the ear) and a package of batteries. So  I am delighted. I was all ready to be unhappy with them for cancelling my appointment two weeks ago and having to reappoint me for today. Then when I went to check in with them, both office people completely ignored me. I finally just took a seat. Before they let me go back to the audiologist, they wanted their $75.00 and I gave them my debit card.

My landlord and his wife get their carpet laid tomorrow. They came to see mine after I got home this afternoon. They thought it looked good too. I will go to Coffeyville tomorrow and get my hair done. Afterward I will go out to the Coffeyville Walmart and see if they have any Chai Latte. I checked Bartlesville's Walmart and they had none. The employee that works that area said it was probably the hang up at the docks in California. I will drop by Marilyn's in the afternoon. She wants me to come and pick up two Chai Latte she has. I will visit with her a bit.

I just texted my son Scott who has the covid and he is 80% better today and feels good. I am so delighted. He had been fully vaccinated and had even had the booster. My older son has shingles and I have just texted him to see how he is doing. He is better too..thank goodness. Shingles are no fun.

More later...I will go watch the CBS evening news now. Maybe the cats are out there too. They didn't come for breakfast.

It's 6:25PM and  will take my bath soon. Then I will either work on my puzzle or read again. I downloaded two more free books from Amazon.

I plan to go to bed sometime between 9:00PM and 10:00PM

Monday and a Quiet Day

I have nothing planned for today but to read. If the wind quiets down.I may rake leaves. But I am not counting on it. I slept well last night again. In fact it was nearly 6:00AM before I got up. It's 6:45AM now and I am just now having my breakfast. I haven't had the TV on yet or checked on the cats.

According to the desktop  computer Caney's forecast is sunny and 70 degrees right now. Weird weather for December.

Scott just texted us that he had another bad night. He had the sweats and chills  and that cough again last night. He is not through this mess yet.

Tomorrow I will go visit Nancy again, have lunch at Bartlesville and at 3:00PM,  go see the audiologist. I hope to pick up my hearing aide then too. I spent $350.00 to have it repaired at the factory. She wants to test me again too. Another $75.00.

I will go check "the weather on the 8's" and the cats.

I watched the news and both cats were there for breakfast so I fed  them and after they ate I put the food back in the garage.

Then I went to the post office to mail back Sage's Christmas gift. They couldn't find a Tumwater, WA at all so I ended up sending it to her mother's address.

It's 10:16 AM now.

Leslie just sent me the schedule for January and I am scheduled for the 30th. I have not been able to reach the worship resources at Herald House with either  of my computers for some weird reason. I tried the church's website and found what I was looking for just fine.

I got the first of my classmate's returned newsletters. Hubert Guest moved to California so I put his letter in a new envelope and sent it on to him there. Then I changed his address on both computers.

I have been working on the bulletin and sermon for January 30th. It's a little early for that but I wanted to at least get the basics down.

I had my last chicken and veggies pot pie for lunch and it is now 2:15PM. I think I will go get a cherry limeade slush.

Sandy called me and we talked for awhile on the phone then I did go to get a cherry limeade slush. It's 5:15PM now and I will go watch the evening news.

More later...

Sunday After Christmas

I slept well again last night. It must be staying up later that helps. It was nearly 11:00PM before I went to bed last night. I read all evening. There was absolutely nothing worth watching on TV.

I was up at 5:00AM, as usual. I have had my breakfast and am working on my coffee now. It's 6:15AM.

I have the sermon  this morning at church. That will be at 11:00AM. I am not sure where we will eat lunch afterward.

I wonder how Scott is doing this morning and how he did last night. Ginger didn't know if he had the flu or the covid. She said the flu was everywhere too. She said Scott had refused to take the flu shot.I asked her to pick up one of those home covid tests when she finished her shift and came home.  He felt so bad last evening I worry about him.

I texted Scott again this morning and he said he was doing a slight bit better...but not much. He had the chills and sweats all night. He said he felt like his head was in a vice and someone was screwing it down. Not good...not good at all. He was going to try to get back to sleep. What a mess he is going through.

I have gone over the notes for this morning's sermon several times. I tried to download another book too but so far I haven't found one I haven't already read. It's 9:46AM now. I will leave for the church at 10:00AM and get there in plenty of time make sure everything's ready.

I checked out the cats and they were both out there ready to eat. When they finished I brought the food back in the garage. I need to go out to Dollar General and get a couple of things. I am out of breakfast bars for one thing.

More later...

Leslie sent me this photo of when I was out there Christmas. Darling puppies!!!

May be an image of 1 person and dog

This is Bandit I am holding!

I got through the sermon this morning but I felt completely unorganized with it. I usually don't feel that way but this was the exception.

It's 2:44PM now. We ate lunch at Maria's. It was a good lunch.  Chicken Chimmichanga.

Scott is better! He thinks he may be starting on the mend. I hope so! When Ginger comes home she may bring a test kit. Then he will know.

I started to rake leaves while it was a mild day. But it's too windy. It will have to wait for a calmer day.

I got the living room vacuumed this afternoon with no more shut downs of the vacuum sweeper. Until some of the fluff is gone, I may just vacuum one room a day. I will continue to mop as I usually do.

More later...It's almost 4:00PM now..

I read all afternoon and evening and finally went on to bed at 10:00PM

Saturday and Christmas Day

I slept well again last night and was up at 5:00AM, made my bed, got myself ready for the day and ate my breakfast.

We will have a different Christmas this year. Leslie is on call and cannot fix Christmas dinner so I suggested we go over to Cherryvale to Just Us for Christmas dinner. We will meet at John and Leslie's at 11:00AM to open our gifts first. They didn't need a thing and really neither did I but the little girls will be there and Christmas gift giving is primarily for children. This will be the last Christmas that Leslie will have to work. She will retire next July when she turns 65. She can hardly wait!

Now I will go watch the news and check on the cats. I am taking my broken sweeper to John and he will take a look at it. He's pretty handy with anything mechanical. He may be able to figure it out.

Something weird just happened. I was getting ready to load the vacuum sweeper in my car and just on a hunch, I plugged it in and what do you know...it worked!! It must have been overheated yesterday and shut down. This carpet is very much thicker and more plush. I wonder if that will happen every time I vacuum with this sweeper. I had done the den, which has short indoor/outdoor carpet in it, and my bedroom which has the new carpet in it and the hall which also has the new carpet in it, and was getting ready to do the living room with the new carpet in it...when it quit. But when I plugged it in  this morning, it turned itself on. So I put it away and won't take it out to John now.

And both cats were out there for the Christmas breakfast this morning so I fed them.

I just got word that my youngest son, Scott, has covid this morning. He has been fully vaccinated and even has had the booster. But he has all the classic symptoms. He is home in bed. They had attended Ginger's son's wedding. Maybe he will have a light case.

He and my older son both have a serious blood disease... hemochromatosis, it's an inherited  blood disease...too much iron in the blood. The only treatment is to have a phlebotomy every month.

I went out to John and Leslie's at 11:00AM and we had our gift exchange. Afterward we went up to Just Us for dinner at noon. It was a nice dinner but we were the only ones there with face masks. We wore them in and took them off only to eat.

I got up to pay the bill and Leslie beat me to Kay and paid it with John's debit card. I had intended to pay for it myself but Kay took Leslie's card instead so I just thanked the kids for dinner.

I hope I got Sage's gift in the mail in time for her to get it by Christmas. It was the only and latest one I got mailed. I usually only buy for the family who live locally except for Sage, Jeromy's older daughter. She lives in Washington State.

It's 5:00PM now and I just contacted my younger son, Scott, again. He has had a terrible day with the covid. It's the worst headache he's ever had.  And he still has fever and chills. And I believe he is all alone going through this. Ginger, his wife, and a nurse anesthetist, is working all day and night and tomorrow too. He is taking Tylenol for the headache and fever.

So more later. He is going back to sleep.

I have taken my bath at 7:00PM and it's7:27PM now. I have been reading. I plan to go to bed sometime between 9:00PM and 10:00PM.

It has been a big day. When we got back to John and Leslie's they took me to see the two puppies. They are so cute!

May be an image of dog

This is bullseye.

May be an image of dog

And this is bandit. Cute little guys aren't they?

That's all for today.

Friday and A Free Day

I slept like a log last night. Of course, I should have. After all that day, I stayed up and put away all the books and got everything back in the closets,  I watched a Christmas program while I did that. It was the story behind the song "Silent Night"..pretty interesting. I stayed up until 10:00PM and that also helped. And I didn't get to sleep until 11:00PM because of leg cramps. I finally got up and took some Hyland's Restful Legs and that worked.

I don't have a plan for today. I did what laundry I had to do early yesterday morning. The carpet layers vacuumed the carpet after they finished with each room.

So I am free to read or whatever else I want to do. I am so glad I went ahead and got everything  back to normal..whatever "normal" is.

It's 5:45AM now and I guess I will go back in the living room and watch "the weather on the 8's". Later I will check on the cats. Blondie came by last evening while I was getting everything put back but he has an owner and I figured he could go home and eat his supper. Scruff didn't make it and she is the one that is homeless and ferrel..

Both cats came for breakfast and I fed them and when they finished I took the food back in the garage and covered it.

The weather looks pretty nice except for one day when it's supposed to rain.

It's 6:46AM now and I am waiting for the CBS news to come on at 7:00AM.

So more later...

I tried to watch the CBS news but it was just "more of the same".....bad news.

So I read my latest book until the battery went down on the Kindle and I had to charge it again.

Then I turned on the music and went into the den to go over my sermon notes.

It's 12:18PM now and I want to see if I have anything in the house to eat for lunch..

I went to Eggbert's and had fried trout and fried okra and french fries. Now I have read all afternoon and it's 4:15PM.  In a little while I will watch the CBS news.

I just started to vacuum the new carpet and the vacuum cleaner shut down and nothing I could do to fix it worked. I cleaned it up the best I could and put it away. Now I will probably have to buy another one....always something. And Leslie bought me this sweeper just about the time I moved into the apartment too. So it's just a little over two years old.

I won't be able to get another one until after Christmas now. I got everything vacuumed except the living room before it died. It's 4:48PM  now.

Leslie called me at almost 5:00PM to remind me that the Canadian on line church service, "Beyond the Walls" was broadcasting "The Messiah" this evening at 5:00PM and it was less then 5 minutes from starting. I don't know how I got the idea it was a Christmas evening broadcast but I am so glad she called me and reminded me it was a Christmas Eve service. It was phenomenal!! I am so glad she corrected my misconception. I would have hated to have missed it.

John texted me to say if I would bring the vacuum sweeper tomorrow for our gift exchange he would take a look at it. Maybe he can figure out what is wrong with it. He is very handy with anything mechanical. I will put it  in my car in the morning. We will be meeting at their house tomorrow at 11:00AM to have our gift exchange before w go over to Cherryvale to "Just Us" for Christmas lunch at noon.

It is 4:30PM now and I will watch the news I recorded before I take my bath at 7:00PM. I will also check to see if the cats are out there for their supper.

More later...

I read until 11:00PM and then put my Kindle on a charger and went on to bed.

Thursday and New Carpet

Today is the day I get my new carpet. Getting ready for it has been a huge job. It has taken me two days to get everything  possible in the den. Surprisingly, I slept well. I was up at 5:00 and stripped my bed and am washing the sheets, my pajamas and underwear.. I put the bedding including the bedspread on the den floor and on the day bed. It is a huge mess in here. The den is 2/3 full of stuff from the closet floors, books, and odds and ends. The kitchen cabinet tops are full of stuff from the two curio cabinets. It will take me two days to get everything back to normal...whatever that is. The carpet people are to be here at 8:00AM and it's 5:30AM right now. It has been  a huge job and it still isn't over.  Putting  everything back will be another one.

My watch quit working in the night and I am wearing the one Leslie gave me now while I try to charge the one Ginger and Scott gave me. Yesterday it was 40% charged and I didn't think it needed charging yet but I have it plugged in in the kitchen to see if that was what it was.

I will go check the weather forecast  and see if the cats are out there in about 30 minutes.

The weather looks like it will be pretty mild for December next week. I haven't checked on the cats yet. It's probably too early for them.

No. it is 6:20AM and I checked on the cats and they were both out there so I took their food out and they are eating now. When they are finished, I will put the cat food back in the garage. Soon I will need to get my car out of the garage and park it at the curb in the street. It's only 6:30AM now and they probably won't be here until 8:00AM according to Stephen. I will sit in the car and read when they get here.

I am now trying to charge the watch on the desktop computer before I give up on it.

More later....

It doesn't appear to be charging.  There is no sign of  a charge. I put it back on the plug in the kitchen and it still isn't charging. It didn't even vibrate when I plugged it in. When I put it on and check the phone the phone says it's disconnected. It didn't even last a month.

It was 11:15 before the carpet layers finally arrived. They didn't use the garage at al. They piled everything in the kitchen. Then they  got the bedroom done first. After they got the bedroom finished they went to the living room The stacked the sofa on it's arm and took all the end tables and coffee into the dining room by the back door.table  and moved the TV, Bose System and the Tivo by just pulling three plugs. Then they carried the entire thing,TV, Bose system and DVD player and everything else there including the curio cabinets into the kitchen and left it all there while they did the carpet in the living room.  Then they vacuumed everything. By the time they finished they brought all the furniture back and put it where I wanted it.

All in all, I was happy with everything. I think it took the four hours altogether.

Then I started putting everything back in the curio cabinets and the end tables and remade the bed.  I put Bob's Bose system back together and tried to reset the time  By that time, I was exhausted. I still have all that stuff to put back in the closet floors and all those books to put back in the bookcase. I will  do that tomorrow. It's 4:54PM now and I haven't eaten all day. I think I will go see if Sonic is open.

More later....

I just fixed myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. That was enough. I put away everything that was in the den and got the apartment back in order. Then I read the rest of the evening. I heard from Keith. The doctor thinks he has the shingles. She is going to run some tests. He said he had been vaccinated just awhile ago.I don't see how he could get the shingles if he was vaccinated. We will see after they do the test.

I had plugged the watch into the USB port on the desktop and left it all evening. Now it is working again. I want to see if it is back on my phone now and how much it is charged.

I took my bath a couple of ours ago and since it's after 10:00PM I will go on to bed.

The phone says it is 100% charged and it is working again.I will just charge it on the desktop computer from now on.

Wednesday and Game Day

I slept well again last night and was up at 5:00AM as usual.  I have dressed and got myself ready for the day and had my breakfast. I spent yesterday moving everything possible out of the areas they will be carpeting tomorrow. It was a huge job for me. All that is left to move is the furniture and they will move that to the garage tomorrow... one room at a time. All I have to do in the morning is take the bedding off the bed and lay it on the daybed in the den.

I will have a huge job getting everything back where it belongs on Thursday afternoon and Friday. But it will be good having a clean carpet. Although Suzanne had the carpet cleaned after the last resident moved out of here, the dirt was trapped between the carpet and the pad. The woman who lived here before me was handicapped and obviously could not clean house well. Every time I vacuumed I got a wad of dirt as big as my fist. It was disgusting. I vacuum very Thursday and every Thursday I got a big wad of dirt. I leave my shoes on a rug next to the door when I am in the apartment so I could not have drug it in.

It's 6:14AM now and I will go watch "the weather  on the 8's" on TV and see if the two cats are out there for breakfast. I will get back to this later.

Both cats were out there and I fed them both and after they left I put away the cat food in the garage as usual.

I read until 8:14AM when I left for my hair appointment in Coffeyville.  It's at 9:00AM but I want to get a cherry limeade slush first. That's why I am leaving a little early.

So, more much later. If there is game day today, it will be after 4:00PM when I get back to this.

Tuesday and a Visit to Nancy

I slept well again last night.I don't think I was  up in the night at all, I was up at my usual 5:00AM and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

I will go visit Nancy again this morning about 10:00AM. I will leave here about 9:15AM. I will take her the last of the peanut clusters. After our visit, I will stop at the Bartlesville Wal Mart and see if they have any Chai. Coffeyville's Wal Mart were completely out yesterday.

After I do that, I may stop at Copan's Truck Stop and get that small chef salad again. It is so good and nourishing. I am kind of tires of Eggbert's chicken salad. And I definitely am tired of frozen meals.

Now I will go check out "the weather on the 8's" and the cats. It's 6:16AM now.

It's 6:51AM now and both cats were out there for breakfast..both Blondie and Scruff. They are still eating...quarreling with one another over which dish to eat out of.

I also checked the weather and we are forecast for a very mild Christmas..in fact all week in the 50's and 60's. Weird winter weather, that's for sure.

Now I will go watch the news..

 So more even later..

I watched the news until time to leave for Bartlesville. I left about 9:15AM because I wanted to check their Wal Mart store for Chai Latte. When I got there I looked for it but they had none either. Tomorrow, when I get to get my hair done, I will check the Coffeyville Wal Mart again. Perhaps they will have some by then. If they do, I will buy two boxes again.

Then I went on to see Nancy. I took her a small can of that peanut clusters I save for her.She was delighted. I also gave her the Chronicles that Kathy gave me for her. I have her address now. I will call Kathy and tell her what it is if she doesn't have that address.

I had a nice visit with Nancy. It was over two hours.  She wanted me to stay for lunch there but I wanted to get back home. I had mail and I wanted to get it answered. I decided not to stop for lunch anywhere after all. I just had another frozen meal. I cleaned up my mail and got everything answered that needed an answer.

The Shelter Mutual insurance agent never called me today as she said she would. I will call her now. She was not in and I left her a message.

More later...

She called me back later and told me there had been a statewide insurance raise. Strange..I hadn't heard anything about it from anyone else.

Anyhow, I read for most of the rest of the afternoon. And then about 5:30PM, I decided to get everything out of the bedroom except the comforter and sheets. I will do that Thursday morning before the carpet layers come. Then I took everything out of the curio cabinets in the living room and set it all on the kitchen cabinet tops. Then I dusted.

All but the bed is ready for them and I have yet to put those silk shades in the back seat of my car but I will do that when I move the car out of the garage. I will strip my bed Thursday evening and put the comforter and pillows with  shams back on it before I go to bed.

Now I am going to watch some recorded episodes of "Bull" .

Back to this later...

I watched a recorded episode of "Bull" and then at 7:15PM I took my bath. It's 7:39PM now and I am ready to go back to reading. I will probably go on to bed at 9:00PM or so.

Monday and A Restful Day

I slept a lot better last night. I spent last evening sending out 46 class newsletters attached to e-mail. That helped..although I still need to find out is Hillary Arnold will duplicate my other 52 so I can send them out in envelopes. I have not heard back from her and the ones sent out last night have already had some positive comments in e-mail this morning.

I wish I could reach Hillary and I might have this done for the year.

I got my little bit of laundry done yesterday. Today I will rest up from the busy weekend. Tomorrow I will go down to Bartlesville and visit Nancy again at Green Country Assisted Living. I will take her some peanut clusters too in a Christmas decorated can.

I also need to go to the market or Dollar General today and get about 5 things on my list.

Wednesday is game day at the senior center and even though the carpet layers will be here early Thursday morning, I want to go to game day.  When I get home that afternoon I will empty the curio cabinets and put away the photos and stuff on my dresser. Early Thursday morning, I will strip my bed and put the comforter in the den on the daybed and put the sheets and pillowcases in the washer. I managed to get Bob's Bose DVD system out of that bookcase in the living room yesterday. I will put away other odds and ends too.

Now I will go watch "the weather on the 8's" and wait  until 6:00AM or6:30AM to check on the cats. A little later, I will check on the cats.

Both cats were here at 6:05AM. That's early for them. But they didn't come for supper last evening so they were good and hungry this morning.

More later...

I read until noon or thereabouts.

Then I finally  heard from Hillary. She checked with her supervisor and they are no longer going to be able to take outside projects like my newsletter, So I called over to the office supply place in Coffeyville and they will copy the 53 newsletters that go out in the mail....six pages each for around $50.00. I don't have a choice. This ancient printer of mine can't possibly do that and even if it could it would take several cartridges of ink. So we will just have to bite the bullet if we want a newsletter from now on.

I took the pages I had printed off over there. I will pick them up Wednesday when I get my hair done.

I came back home and made up a footnote to the Newsletter and sent it out to those online. I will print off some pages to include with those that go out in the mail. It's 5:27PM now and I will go watch the news.

I checked and both cats were back for supper. They ate their fill and I put the cat food back in the garage.

Back to this later...

I watched the news until I was tired of it and then read the rest of the evening. At 7:00PM, I took my bath and read again until a little after 9:00PM and then I went to bed.

Tomorrow I will go visit Nancy in Bartlesville.

Sunday and Church

I have had a terribly restless night. Stephen and Dee Anna came over last evening to bring me some Christmas cookies and candies and pick up the peanut clusters I had made for them and told me about their experience with the carpet layers. It seems they laid it all wrong...putting the seams right down the middle of the living room and hall. Of course in time those seams would open up and the carpet would wear there. Stephen had it out with the carpet people and the carpet company is going to have to relay theirs correctly with new and different people to lay it.

I am concerned about my situation. During one of our moves, the silk shades on my two Rembrandt lamps were torn in the move. I ordered new silk shades from Garbe's in Tulsa and they cost me $100. each. I intend to put those silk shades in the back seat of my car to protect them and park my car in the street along the curb so they will be able to put my furniture in the garage while they lay the carpet. First, of course, I will have to blow all those leaves out of the garage.

Then I am concerned about my TV too. It has a Bose system hooked up to it for superior sound and also the Tivo recording system and DVD player. I don't know if the carpet layers will know how to put all that back together or not. I may have to have Cox out to reassemble it so I can use it. The TV is huge too.

I want to get the classmate's newsletter out before all this happens. I will need the router to use the printer and the e-mail. I send the newsletter out to those who are online by attachment to e-mail.

Wednesday afternoon I have to take everything out of my large curio cabinet as well as the smaller one and put it all on the cabinets in the kitchen. Also I have had the card table behind the sofa after I quit putting puzzles together on it..along with a chair. I will need to get that back out in the garage where I usually keep it.

Stephen told me the new carpet layers would be here Thursday morning  between 8:00AM and 9:00AM.

I woke up at 1:00AM this morning and could never get back to sleep. Finally at 3:00AM, I just got up. Trying to sleep was futile.

After the carpet layers finally leave, I will need to put all those books back in the bookcase in the living room and all those curios back in the curio cabinets and all the things I took out of the closet floors back in the closets. And I will need to remake the bed. The thought of all that is really overwhelming.

I have stewed about all this most of the night. When the Haleys originally told me about the new carpet, they told me the carpet layers would take care of everything...moving the furniture into the garage and putting everything back together again. Then later they came over and saw the books in the bookcase and said I would need to get those put in the den. Then Dee Anna saw the curios in the curio cabinet and said I would need to put all those things on the kitchen cabinets and empty those curio cabinets.  And I hope they can leave the Alexa on the divider between the living room and the kitchen and plugged in. Afterward, of course, I would need to put the those things back in the curio cabinet and also remake the bed. I don't know how I will put the bed skirt between the mattress and the box springs. It sounds like a lot of exhausting work to me. But I will need to do it Thursday afternoon after they leave and Friday before Christmas on Saturday.

More later...it is 4:00AM now and too late to try to get back to sleep. I will make my bed and get myself ready for church and have some breakfast.

It's 5:30AM now and I have had my breakfast. It's too early to check on the cats. I will wait until 6:30AM...when I usually find them there.

Both Scruff and Blondie  came for breakfast and are out there eating now and it's just before 6:00AM .I just took out the double dish. They can just learn to share it. The last time I took out the square dish, Scruff spilled it all over the grass. So since I am only feeding two cats now, I figure they can learn to share.

I took the card table and chair on out to the garage..one less thing to deal with next week.

Then I read awhile....

Next I backed the car out of the garage and swept out the garage so that's another thing I won't have to do next week.

More later....

We had a fine Christmas dinner at church this morning and all but one person stayed for the dinner. He was here for the service though. When I got home I read awhile and then found one last e-mail with class news and since I wasn't sure if I would have internet after the carpet layers left next Thursday, I decided to go ahead and send the newsletter to the 46 who are on line as an attachment to e-mail. I will have to have 52 hard copies made for those I had addressed envelopes for. I will send them out when I can get the copies made. So far I haven't heard anything from Hillary at my daughter's office. She made my copies the last two years.

More later...I need to get something to drink. I am thirsty.

More later

No photo description available.

My eldest son, Keith, and his lovely wife, Esther!!

I took my bath at 7:00PM and read until 9:30PM when I went on to bed!

Goodnight all!! And Merry Christmas!!!

Sarurday and a Waldorf Salad

I slept well again last night and was up at 5:00AM as usual. I am having my breakfast while I blog. I haven't had the weather on yet and I don't know whether it rained or not last night. I slept too hard to hear it.

Soon I will go watch "the weather on the 8's" and see what today's forecast is. Then I will check on the cats and after that, I will start on making my salad for tomorrow's dinner at church.

Yesterday was exhausting and I haven't even begun on the books and the things out of the curio cabinets. That can wait until next Tuesday. The carpet people are not coming until next Thursday. I believe we have game day at the senior center next Wednesday.

Now I will go check the weather.

The weather is to be in the 50's and 60's next week with no rain.

Both cats came for breakfast this morning.I figured they would since they didn't  come for supper last night. I will go back to watching the CBS morning news now.

It's nearly 7:00AM and the cats have eaten and gone and I brought in their food to the garage.

I should start that salad and get it over with. It's a lot of chopping etc, and I will put it in the frig overnight.

So more later ....

It's 8:00AM now and I have just finished Bob's Waldorf salad and have it in Tupperware and in the frig. It should be fine for 24 hours tight in Tupperware.

I tasted it and it is the same as ever with Gala apples, some lemon juice, two kinds of seedless grapes, raisins, celery and. pecans stirred with mayonnaise. I think that is everything in there. I even have washed the dishes and put them away.

That's everything I hoped to get done today. Maybe I will dust this morning.. I didn't do that on Thursday. Maybe I can get those books out of the bookcase and stacked in the den.

More later...

It took me awhile but I got all those books out of that bookcase in the living room. It's 9:00AM now and I am exhausted again.

May be an image of book and indoor

Here are some of those books . What a mess. And after they are gone, I will have to put all those books back in the bookcase in the living room. I hope the new carpet is worth it!

For lunch, I went down to Copan and had their small chef salad and iced tea. As usual, it was very good. Then I came back home and downloaded another book and have been reading it for a couple of hours. It's 5:12PM now and soon I will watch the CBS evening weekend news.

It's almost 7:00PM now and I have just had my bath. I have been reading since 5:30PM after I found there was no evening news tonight....only football and professional football at that I will go back to my book now. I feel better after the bath.

I plan to go to bed sometime  between 9:00PM and 10:00PM

Friday and E-Mail At Last

I didn't sleep quite as well last night but not terrible. I was up a couple of times in the night...once to go to the bathroom and once to turn down the thermostat since I got too warm.

But I am so happy to have my e-mail back I can't complain.

I am eating my breakfast now and it is 6:42AM. As soon as I finish my oatmeal, I will go turn on "the weather on the 8's" and check out today's forecast.I think it's supposed to rain unless they have changed the forecast. Then I will check out the cat situation.

I spent last evening taking everything out of the closet floors in preparation for the carpet layers on the 23rd.

Michael and his wife dropped by last week and said the carpet layers want me to take the books out of the bookcase in the living room. Also they want me to take the curios out of the curio cases, I will stack the books in the den. I will put the curios in the kitchen and dining room. I will leave my car in the street and blow the leaves out of the garage so they can put some furniture in there too. It will be a big job and I can't leave it all to the last minute. I was exhausted after moving everything out of the closets last night. I also wrapped the last of  my Christmas gifts and put them in the den room too.

The den is 1/3 full now. And the rain is still in the forecast for today...this afternoon.

Both cats came to eat this morning but they are gone now and I took the food back in the garage.

More later....

I made my peanut clusters this morning. I will wait until the are dry and hard and then pack them into Christmas tins and give them to my friends and my landlord and his wife. I will take a tin to Nancy on Tuesday. Maybe I will take one to Mary Williams too. I will try my best to stay out of them myself. I am trying to watch my weight.  Tomorrow I will make my Bob's Waldorf salad for the church Christmas dinner on Sunday. It is always best when it has sat overnight in the frig.

I sent out the news about my restored e-mail to my online classmates. Hopefully they will respond with their news in the next week. I would like to wrap this newsletter up this week....or at the latest, the following one. The loss of my e-mail this past week really set me back.

I got all of the peanut clusters packed into tins...three small round ones and one larger square one that I will take to church on Sunday for the dinner dessert and treat.

That's my project for the day. Now I will read after I go to the market and get a couple of things. I want to blow the leaves out of my garage too today. I will probably have to do it again before the carpet people come on Thursday next week. This leaf situation is a mess.

 More even later...

I went to the market and got what I needed and came back home.  I will wait until the man next door putting a new floor down in the kitchen, bathroom and dining room and foyer. I think that's what he is doing at least.

I asked Leslie to check with the woman there at 4 County  that printed off my classmates newsletters the past two years to see if she would print them off this year too. They should be ready by next week. I can print one off and she could just use their mimeograph and copy them off if she would like. I sure hope she can do it again.

Leslie reminded me that  I had her e-mail address and I sent Hillary an e-mail asking her if she would be able to duplicate this year's class newsletter. I haven't heard back from her yet.

I hope she can. At this point it's only 6 pages instead of the usual eight.

It's 11:38AM right now and I will go find something to eat for lunch.

More later...

I had a frozen dinner...meat loaf and mashed potatoes.

May be an image of 4 people and indoor

My niece Diana sent me this today. What a nice gift. Perfect except for the elderly lady on the right.

Now I will go read awhile..so More later....

For the first time in a couple of weeks, my desktop computer lost the internet signal. I ran the troubleshooter and it is fixed...for now.

It's 6:38PM now and I have finished another book. At 7:00 I will take my bath and hope I recorded the CBS evening news. I am not sure.

I looked outside but didn't see any cats. They could have been out there when I was reading but now they will have to wait until morning to eat.

Tomorrow I will fix Bob's Waldorf salad for the dinner after church on Sunday. I don't have another book to read on Kindle and I am charging the Kindle again this evening .

After I see if I can watch the recorded CBS evening news, I will probably go to bed. Moving all that stuff out of the three closets was exhausting. I should probably go to bed earlier this evening.

Thursday and House Cleaning

I slept  well last night and was up at my usual 5:00am. I had stayed up reading until almost 11:00PM. I still had no e-mail. I dressed and got myself ready for the day and am eating my breakfast now. I may clean the apartment today although last week I cleaned on Friday.

I will go check on "the weather on the 8's" in a  little while and also check on the cats. They didn't come for dinner last night. It was raining. They came this morning though and I fed them and when they finished, I took their food back in and got a broom and swept off the front door area.

I managed to get the apartment cleaned this morning while the commercials were on TV.

I called a couple of Cox Complete Care agents this morning and neither of them were able to fix But the agent that changed my e-mail password a couple of days ago had done something he wasn't supposed to do and it messed up my e-mail. According to one of those this morning, Cox had it fixed yesterday.

Finally I went up to Independence and finished my Christmas shopping. I still have to wrap the gifts.

I had stopped at the Dairy Queen while I was up there and had a blizzard. That was my lunch.

Then I came home and read awhile again.

Finally I called Cox again and I finally got a genius who knew exactly what to do. He and a woman he contacted managed to get a new password that would work and then had me put one in that I wanted instead and  that one worked too.

So I am back in the e-mail business and  I had news from three classmates to add to the newsletter. I got that done too.

The only problem I had was that in all that... I managed to lose the blog I had started  this morning. So I had to start over. This is a slightly different blog from what I had this morning.

It's after 6:00PM and if I remembered to record the evening CBS news, I will watch it before I go to take my bath,

I had recorded the CBS evening news so I watched that and then began emptying  everything out of the bedroom closets floors. The carpet people will be coming to lay the new carpet on December 23rd. It's 8:04PM now and I am exhausted. I will take my bath, put my p.j.s on and read until bedtime.

Good night!

Wednesday and Still No e-Mail

I slept well last night again and was up at 5:00AM as usual. I've dressed and got myself ready for the day. Cox still doesn't have their e-mail fixed.  So, here I am in the middle of getting the class newsletter out and no e-mail. I will call Cox later. There is always a chance that after the Cox tech changed my password to the e-mail that might have messed it up. It has been well over 24 hours and it should have been fixed by now. It went down at 12:30AM yesterday morning.

I have my 9:00AM hair appointment this morning and then at 3:15PM I have the appointment with the audiologist in Bartlesville. That's another $75.00 office call. The audiologist isn't covered by Medicare. I will miss Bunco but that doesn't end until 3:00PM so I just have to miss it this time.

I am having my breakfast now and it is almost 6:00AM..  I will go check "the weather on the 8's" and the cats a little later. The weather still says rain today and wind and rain on Friday. I haven't checked on the cats yet. It's7:39AM now and I still haven't checked on the cats. I'll do that now.

More later...

No cats out there this morning and it's 68 degrees. Pretty warm for the 15th of December.

They finally came and I fed them.I think Scruff is pregnant. Either that or she's getting fat.

I got my hair done at 9:00AM as usual and  afterward I bought a cherry limeade slush.

About 10:30 the audiologist office called me and changed my appointment. They said the audiologist had called in sick. Why they waited so late to call me really aggravated me. Surely she called in at 8:00AM when she didn't come to work. They changed my appointment to 3:00PM on the 28th of December.

I get my new crown inserted on December 30th..if the lab gets it done by then.

I am getting my new carpet on the 23rd of December and that is next Thursday a week from tomorrow. My landlord and landlady came this evening and asked me to take all the books out of the living room bookcase and put them in the den. They also showed me the new carpet and it is fine.

I took my bath at 7:00 and the read until 11:00 when I went on to bed.

Tuesday and a Visit With Nancy

I slept very well last night and only woke up once for my nightly trip to the bathroom. Of course, I read to almost 10:00PM so that may be the reason I slept so well. I have made my bed and got myself ready for the trip to visit Nancy this morning.

I will try to be there at 10:00AM and stay a couple of hours. I am taking boxed Christmas cards to her and to her friend, Mary Williams. I am giving Mary stamps too but I will just give Nancy the box of Christmas cards and tell her to get her cards ready and when I come back next Tuesday to see her, I will take them and mail them for her. I am not sure she has a list of people and their addresses to send out cards to. If she does, I will mail them off next Tuesday. If they are not ready, I will have just given her the boxed cards. You never know about Nancy. When I got there at 10:00AM last Tuesday, she was still in bed. I woke her up and told her to get dressed and she did. But she didn't brush her hair until it was time for her to go to lunch. Mary came while I was there visiting Nancy last week and stayed the entire time and visited too.

While I am in Bartlesville I will get gas. It's cheaper there then it is even in South Coffeyville.

Right now it is 6:27AM and I want to check out "the weather on the 8's" and also see if the cats are out there for their breakfast. I will get back to this later.

We are to have rain on Wednesday and Friday and also winds..some very hard.

I won't be gone to Bunco  this week on Wednesday. I have a 3:15PM appointment with the audiologist in Bartlesville tomorrow. She will test my hearing again and give me my hearing aide that has been repaired. That cost me $350. She wants me to have another hearing aide for my left ear  but that isn't going to happen, They now cost $3,000 to $5,000 each. I bought mine from Stan Wilson and I am pretty sure he gave me his price because I think I paid about $1,600 for it...undoubtedly his cost. I paid it out at $100 a month (at no interest) for a year and since I paid off my car in less then a year, my last payment to Stan was $300. (the hearing aide payment and the two payments left from paying off the car early).  Stan has retired now and so that option is gone.

I contacted Leslie about the plan for Christmas. She is on call for Christmas and won't be able to handle Christmas dinner. I suggested we go over to Just Us in Cherryvale. Kay and Jim usually have a Christmas dinner that is by reservations only.  Leslie has to wait until Jeromy talks to Marlene to tell us whether they will be going to Topeka to Marlene's folks this year or if they would be going with us to Just Us.

I went to see Nancy about 9:45AM ad she was happy to see me. I waited until noon to leave. We had a good visit and I gave her the box of cards in hopes she has her Christmas Card list. I didn't give her stamps..I want to see if she finds the addresses of those she has always sent Christmas cards to. If she does, I told her to save the cards for me to take and mail for her next Tuesday.

I also gave Mary Williams her cards and also her stamps. Her son lives in Bartlesville and he will mail hers for her. She wrote me a check for the cards and the stamps.

I see the e-mail is still down at Cox and they are working on it and have been all day. They took my telephone number and told me they would get back with me the first agent they have free. I get such lousy service from Cox. It's always something. Usually it's the TV with a tearing picture but this time it's the internet mail service. And this couldn't be a worse time for the e-mail to go down.

I sent out reminders of the newsletter to those classmates that are on line but with the e-mail problem I doubt any of them received my notice.

I ate at home when I got home. I had a small frozen pizza and I put that in the microwave and cooked it and ate it.

I later called Cox Complete Care about my e-mail problem and got a woman who said the problem was my Outlook problem and they didn't work on applications. I told her I had talked to another person there earlier who told me their e-mail had been down since 12:30AM  last night. I asked her which of them...her or him, had told me the truth.

Then I got off the phone with her and called again and got a man who told me that same thing the first man had told me. I told him the e-mail program came up with the Cox address and the user name but the password was about 20 characters long and I would never have come up with something with that many characters. So he offered to change the password to something shorter but one I could write down and therefore know what it was when asked. He did that and I printed it off with the desktop computer printer.

More later..

It's 7:25PM and they still don't have the e-mail fixed yet. It must be a major problem.

I called Kay at Just Us and made reservations for 6 for a Christmas meal. Marlene won't be coming but Jeromy (my grandson) and the girls, Cheyenne and Maia (my great grandchildren) will and of course, John, Leslie and me.

At 7:00PM I took my bath and I had finished my latest murder mystery. I will download another book on the Kindle after it is charged again and just play a game on the computer until 9:00PM or 10:00PM when I will go to bed.

Monday and Laundry

I slept well again last night. I had read until almost 10:00PM and that always helps. I was up once in the night to go to the bathroom and other then that, I slept through the night. I was up at my usual 5:00AM and am doing some laundry this morning.  I am eating my breakfast now.

Leslie contacted me last night to see if I had any plans for today and the only thing I needed to do was some laundry and that's going now. I was out of underwear and my towels needed washing too. She is going to Lowe's in Bartlesville and wanted to know if I wanted to go with her.. She has a hair appointment today in Coffeyville and will drop by and pick me up afterward. It will be good to spend some time with her. She is my only child close by and she is so busy I seldom see her except at church.

It is after 6:20AM now and I want to go check out "the weather on the 8's" and also the cats.

I will get back to this  after I do that.

Only scruff came for breakfast. I fed her and brought in the food after she ate all she wanted. It's 8:02AM now.

More later...

I watched the CBS news and all they talked about was that series of tornadoes on Friday and so I then turned to the weather station. They were also so busy talking about that same.series of tornadoes on Friday that they never got around to the local weather. I finally just turned it off. and folded out my laundry and put it away. We have heard those same stories every day since the tornadoes  happened. Not an update, mind you.....just the very same people and the very exact same news.

The news people run everything into the ground. We would all feel a lot  more empathy if there was something different....an update... that wasn't the very same news stories..

I have been playing a  game while waiting for Leslie to text me that she is on her way from Coffeyville.  I don't know when her appointment is. She didn't say.

It was 11:58AM when Leslie texted me she was leaving Coffeyville.Thirty minutes later she pulled into my drive. We drove down to the Copan Truck Stop and had a lunch of the small chef salad. She seemed pretty happy with it.

Then we went on down to Lowe's in Bartlesville where she bought some broken down boxes that can be assembled for packing a lot of books and other stuff.  She is going to one of our churches this is for sale down in Oklahoma. I believe she said Webb City. That may be Missouri..not Oklahoma.

Then we went to the pet store where she bought some dog food. The dogs did not like the food they had given them and refused to eat it..It sat in the bowls for four days uneaten.

She stopped at a Philip's station and bought gas. We got back to Kansas a couple of hours later.

Blondie was here soon after I got home. He was hungry again. He did come for breakfast but he made it for lunch/

I read most of the afternoon until the news came on TV.

More later... I want to watch the CBS evening news now. It's nearly 5:30PM

I watched the CBS evening news and once again it was basically full of news about the tornadoes and the deaths.

Then it was 7:00PM and I took my bath. I will read until bedtime, I guess.

I tried to get into Keith's blog and over and over I was refused.  Finally I texted him about it and after awhile he got it fixed so I could use it again.

I copy the information from my blog onto his.

Sunday and Church

I slept well last night. I was up as usual at 5:00AM and made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I have had my breakfast and am working on my coffee now.

It is 6:15AM right now and I will soon go turn on "the weather on the 8's" to see what to expect today. I will also check to see if there are either of the cats out there waiting for their breakfast.

We will have church today in our building. It has been a couple of weeks since we have been able to do that because of the pandemic and new growth in number of cases in Montgomery County.

Leslie will be our speaker today. She is our most active pastor of the two. Of course Melissa is a doctor and is working the pandemic.

I see by the notice on the desktop computer that it is 32 degrees out there this morning.

I see by my phone that the Fitnus is down to a 15% charge after it charged to 22% last evening.

I see the Fitnus is down to a 6% charge now, I have plugged it back into the USB port on the desktop computer hoping it will charge again.

The Fitnus was on the USB charger for an hour or so and it only went up to 7%.  I don't know what it's going to take to charge it. I put it back on that USB port on the Desktop Computer. I will wear the watch Leslie gave me and leave the Fitnus plugged into a USB port to charge.

That USB port on the Desktop computer may not charge when the computer goes to sleep. I don't know. So I plugged it into another one that I use to charge my phone. Maybe that will work better.

So more later... . It's 10:23AM now and I had better leave for church!

I kept the Fitnus watch plugged in all the time I was gone until I came back home at 2:00PM. It did not charge at all. And now it is completely dead. I have it plugged in again in the USB port on the Desktop Computer and it doesn't appear to be charging at all. I followed the directions completely.

It wasn't charging at all. I had plugged in the wrong end of the adapter. No wonder it wasn't charging. It came completely charged and it took all this time to run down, When Keith pulled the wrist band off so I could plug it in, it was on the wrong side. Consequently when I tried to charge it, I pulled the same side off and plugged in the wrong end too.  Of course, it didn't charge, I went online and checked out how to charge it and saw the metal charging ends were at the other side, I plugged it in the right way and in five minutes on the PC it was charged 22%.

I plugged it in again to see if it would get up to 100% eventually.

It is up to 37% now after just 15 minutes. I plugged it back in again. I want to try for 100%

It's 4:16PM now and the Fitnus is up to 52%. Later this evening I will plug it in again.

More later..

I had it plugged in in the kitchen and I just put it back together and it's up to 79% now.

I had a terrible time trying to get on Zoom this evening to get the worship service and finally was able to get on the desktop computer. The laptop locked me out for trying to get on multiple times.

It's almost 7:00PM and that's time for my bath and p.j's  I will read for awhile and then go on to bed later at 9:00PM or so..

Saturday and A Day of Rest

I slept well last night although I woke up a little dizzy this morning. After I got up and around that went away however. I made my bed and got myself dressed and fixed my breakfast. I am eating it now while I blog. I don't really have a plan for today. I think I will just rest today. I cleaned the apartment yesterday and picked up my two prescriptions and read. That kept me busy yesterday.

I haven't heard from Gay in months and I have had her on my mind lately. I think I will e-mail her today and find out what's going on in her life. Her sister, Adele and husband, Stan, moved in with her earlier this year and that was a good thing. She shouldn't be out there in the country all by herself. She has animals to feed and care for..a mule, a jack and a horse and Adele's mule too, Then there was the mowing and the housework too. I am glad they are there to help her and be with her so she won't be out there all by herself.

I have been lonely since Nancy went into assisted living in Bartlesville. Suzanne doesn't come much because she has her sister, Judy, to look after as well as her daughter and grandchildren and even Steve. Leslie and John are busy, busy, busy. So if it weren't for the activity at the senior center each month, I would really feel isolated.

I have an appointment on Wednesday afternoon with the audiologist in Bartlesville at 3:15PM to have my hearing rechecked and pick up the hearing aid that has been repaired. Then that Friday is the $3.00 dinner at the senior center. I pick up one for Marilyn too and take it to her afterward and visit awhile.

It's 6:30AM now and I should go check "the weather on the 8's" and see if the cats are out there hungry.

I did e-mail Gay and also, both cats were there hungry. I am feeding both of them now. Now I will get back to the morning CBS news.

I watched the CBS morning news and then put together birthday cards for those of the congregation who are having birthdays this week. I went to the post office for more stamps. I have been sending out Christmas cards as well as those birthday cards so I needed more stamps for the class newsletter.

I haven't heard back from Gay. Maybe she hasn't checked her e-mail this morning. I guess I will get back to the latest book I downloaded last evening.

I will read all morning.

So, more even later....

I finally got an answer from Gay. They are doing fine and had a great family Thanksgiving.

I also got a funny from Ed Cotner, one of my classmates. I sent it on to the kids and Gay.

More later...

I've read until 4:00PM and now the Kindle needs charging again and also my Fitnus needs charging again. So I have both of them on charging.

It seems to take a long time to charge that Fitnus.  I will leave it charging longer then 5 minutes and see if that helps. I left it plugged in for twenty minutes and it only charged one digit.

The Fitnus is not charging at all now. I am going to plug it in at the USB port on my desktop computer and leave it plugged in a long time. I think when I charged it at Scott and Ginger's I left it plugged in all night and it was 65% charged that time. It's only three weeks old  and it doesn't appear to be charging much at all. I will check it again before I go to bed. Hopefully it will be charged by then.

The USB port on the computer got it charged to 22%. I plugged it back in to see if it will charge more now.

Now I will go watch the CBS news and get back to this later. it's only 6:03PM now.

It's 7:30PM now and this has not been an easy evening. Suddenly my phone went black and I tried to get it turned back on with the on button but nothing happened. It was charged this evening so that couldn't be the problem. Finally I plugged it back in again and after awhile it came back on. It was already charged to 85% so I don't know what happened but evidently charging it even more helped. At least the last time I looked at it...before my bath, it was still charging. It will be interesting to see if anything else can happen.

At least at this point the desktop computer has stayed connected to the internet this week.

It's after 7:30PM now and I think I will go read some more. I saw the Kindle was fully charged again and the green light was on.

I plan to go to bed sometime between 9:00PM and 10:00PM.

Friday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept well again last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed, and got myself ready for the day. Since I didn't clean the apartment yesterday, I will do it today. I like to stay on a fairly regular schedule. I am having my breakfast now...a breakfast bar, oatmeal and coffee and later..my Chai.

I was careful when I flossed my teeth this morning not to pull that temporary crown off. She said to just slide the floss out from between the teeth and that's what I did.

In a few minutes, I will go check "the weather on the 8's" and later...on the cats. It's just now 6:00AM so it's a little early for them. If they come at all, it's usually around 6:30AM.

Yesterday afternoon I called in for a refill on my two prescriptions. One is refilled at the Medicine Shoppe in Coffeyville and the other at Walgreens in Independence. I will call before I go pick them up and make sure they are refilled. I get a discount on the one at the Medicine Shoppe and also the one at Walgreens.

Both cats came for breakfast this morning and I fed them both. They are still eating out there.

I am watching the news now.  So, more later...

I got the apartment cleaned and vacuumed and the vacuum cleaner cleaned up and put away. The filters are washed and drying overnight. I will put them back in in the morning when they are completely dry.

I am having problems with my right eye this morning. The contact, no matter which one, burns my eye. So I took them both out and am wearing my glasses today until the problem clears up. When I go over to Coffeyville to pick up my prescription, I may drop into the Dobbins office and see if she will take a look at it.

After wearing the glasses for awhile, the eye cleared up and I was able to put the contacts back in before I left for Coffeyville.

It is raining now. I don't think that was forecast. I watched "the weather on the 8's"  and I don't recall rain being forecast...but I checked and it was raining.

More later...

First I drove over to Coffeyville to get the medicine at the Medicine Shoppe and then up to Independence to get the one from Walgreen's. I stopped at Dairy Queen there and bought a blizzard and then I came on back home.

I went to the Caney market and got the ingredients for Bob's Waldorf Salad and then I bought chicken, corn and mashed potatoes and gravy from their deli. They gave me a biscuit. That's what I had for lunch. I saved half of it for another meal.  We may eat out after church on Sunday but I can always warm it up in the microwave for tomorrow noon.

I also sent the 2022 Class Newsletter to the desktop computer where I could eventually print it off. That computer is the one the printer is set up on and I tried it out just to make sure it would work. The laptop no longer prints. And so far, the desktop computer is staying hooked up to the internet. All my messing with it last week must have fixed it.

I read all afternoon and finished my latest book. Now it's 4:49PM and almost time for the CBS evening news. It's at 5:30PM, if I recall correctly.

I watched the CBS evening news and then read awhile and finished that book. The Kindle needed to rebooted so I did that and managed to download still another free book.

It's a little after 7:00PM and I took my bath a little while ago. I guess I will go back to the book until I get sleepy and go to bed. Probably between 9:00PM or 10:00PM.

So, perhaps more later...

Thursday and a Crown Prep.

It's 5:30AM now and in two hours I will go to the dentist for a crown prep. I hope she doesn't get into the nerve and cause  me to have to have a root canal. A bicuspid is too small a tooth to have a root canal done in it. And I don't want to lose another tooth. I've been down that road before and it was a catastrophe. I lost a very expensive bridge over it and later...a tooth. There doesn't seem to be an alternative to the crown except to lose the tooth. I will just have to trust that she will be careful.

The entire experience has taught me not to crunch ice cubes.

I have had my breakfast now and am drinking my coffee. I will go turn on the "weather on the 8's" and see what is forecast for today and the rest of the week. In an hour I will check on the cats.

Both Blondie and Scruff came for breakfast this morning. I took their food out and they are eating hungrily. It is 6:23AM now and in shortly before an hour I will go to the dentist.

I went to the dentist about 7:20AM and got in and didn't have to wait long.

It took three hours to do the crown prep...primarily because there was an emergency during that time too. It did well though and she didn't get into the nerve. I paid for it when they finished. I wrote a check because if I had used my debit card the bank would have charged them a service charge. I paid it in full by check. The appointment to seat the crown will be December 30th...again at 7:30AM.

When I got home, I read until 1:39PM when my Kindle needed charging again. It's on the charge now. I will read the latest book I downloaded on it earlier when it is charged later today.

I will find something for my lunch now. When I got out of the dental  office, I went by the Sonic and got a Mocha Crunch Blast. I get one of those about once a week. I had a frozen meal and am full now.

The Kindle is charged again now and I will read in my latest downloaded free book from Amazon. I have watched the CBS evening news and taken my bath. I hope to sleep better tonight. Maybe I won't be apprehensive since the crown is prepared and she didn't get into the nerve.

Blondie came back for supper this evening. Scruff didn't come.

I didn't clean the apartment today so I will do that tomorrow morning.

 Perhaps more later...

Wednesday and Hair Day

I slept very well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I am having my breakfast now and my coffee. Today I get my hair done over at Coffeyville at 9:00AM or so. I heard from Janet last night. There is no game day today. Tomorrow at 7:30AM, I get my crown prep. I hope she doesn't get into the nerve. My experience with root canal has been disastrous.... especially on a bicuspid. In order to do a crown on that tooth, she will have to build it up with pins...so much of the tooth is gone. The entire distal side of it broke off....filling and all.

It's 6:06 right now and I will go try to catch "the weather on the 8's" and see if there are any hungry cats out there.

The weather is overcast and chilly so I will wear a hoody or a jacket today.

I only had one cat come for breakfast and the was the neighbor's male cat. He ate and left but Scruff didn't come at all. I don't know where she is eating.

Now I am watching the CBS news.  It's only 7:30AM and my appointment isn't until 9:00AM or so. I will leave here at 8:30AM. ..a little over an hour from now.

May be an image of 3 people and indoor

Me and my kids on Thanksgiving.

I read most of the afternoon and went out to Eggbert's and had lunch about noon. Diana, my niece, called me wanting this picture of my kids and me. I had to edit it to get rid of some of the extraneous material in the photo but that worked. I couldn't figure out how to send it to her by my phone.

Here is the photo I took at Thanksgiving dinner.

May be an image of 8 people and people sitting

Left to right:Scott, Keith, Esther, Ginger. Ruby, Jerod, Leslie and John. I am not in the photo since I took the photo. Scott's daughter, Ashley,  was not there. She is a nurse and probably had to work.

 No photo description available.

This is Scott and Ginger's new home.

Now, back to my book.

I read until bath time and I have just had that.  My dental appointment is at 7:30AM in the morning and I want to be prompt. I won't waste a lot of time in the morning.

I will go back to my reading until 9:00PM or so when I will go to bed. It's 7:27PM now.
