Saturday and a Rummage Sale at Church

This may be  a busy day. The church is having a rummage sale and everyone has used this time to clean out stuff they no longer need. We are to be there this morning at 6:30AM and work until about 2:00PM this afternoon. I never did get into the attic here to go trough the stuff up there. Leslie did not want me climbing up that latter and trying to bring stuff down without falling or dropping stuff. She thought she would find time to help me with that...but she didn't. She is just too busy.

I opened the front door to see if Blondie was out there waiting for his breakfast but he wasn't and neither was the small white cat. It's only 6:00AM. I did catch "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 63 degrees and cloudy, tomorrow is to be 61 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is supposed to be 66 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 71 degrees and sunny,  Wednesday is supposed to be 76 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is supposed to be 76 degrees and partly cloudy, and Friday is supposed to be 77 degrees and sunny. No rain in this week's forecast. And we need it so badly! 

The small white cat finally came and ate the dry cat food I left out there for her. 

I left for the church at 6:00AM and although it was very dark. I made my way over there just fine. At the end of the day, we made over $600 for just this Saturday. And we didn't price anything. We just asked for donations of whatever the person wanted to give. We will do it again next Saturday. I will not get to the church that early though..I got home today at 3:55PM.

Friday and Possible Rain and Apartment Cleaning

 I have been up an hour and it's just now almost 6:00AM. I have had my juice, coffee and Chai Latte and breakfast bar. I have checked the front door twice but neither time was Blondie there. I will check again now that it's almost 6:00AM. He is usually out there by this time.

I bought him wet cat food Wednesday when I was over at Coffeyville for my hair appointment and could go to a Walmart. 

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" though.

Today is to be 68 degrees and AM showers! tomorrow is to be 61 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 60 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 65 degrees and  mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 71 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 75 degrees and partly cloudy, and Thursday is to be 70 degrees and AM showers. So a couple of days of rain in the forecast! Let's hope that develops!

I will go check for Blondie now.

I found Blondie when I checked again and fed him. He left just a little then the little white cat came and finished off what he did not eat.   

It's 8:40AM and I have been reading all morning. Now I will take my walk. 

 I changed my mind. There was a cold wind and I just didn't want to deal with it.

I did go down to Bartlesville to get my tires rotated at Tate Boys. I was going to get my car washed at the Okie car wash but it was closed and I didn't know of an alternative site for another car wash.  I stopped by the Boulevard Cafe to see if Sally was still there but she must have eaten and gone on home. It was almost 11:00AM by then. I stopped by the Copan Restaurant and had a cup of their beef vegetable soup and iced tea. Then I came on home myself.  It is 12:39PM now. I should clean the apartment since I have nothing else going now.

I did get the apartment cleaned and  the little white cat came by looking for food so I took her out some. She's snow white. I am assuming it's a female. At least so far Blondie has tolerated her just fine. He could be her father. Scruff could have been her mother. There at the last, I thought she was big enough to be pregnant.

It's 4:37PM now and I have been reading all afternoon. I did stop at the drive in and get a small butter pecan Flurry for my dessert.. I will go back to the book after I rest awhile.

Thursday and No Apartment Cleaning

 I slept better last night was still up at 5:00AM. I opened the front door to find Blondie ready for his breakfast. So I fed him. I got some more soft cat food at Walmart yesterday so he was really eating it well.. He had his fill and left now. 

I dressed and had my breakfast too and began reading my latest library book. I got two at the Caney library yesterday afternoon.

Also I found "the weather on the 8's". This is the week's forecast.

Today is to be 78 degrees and partly cloudy and windy. tomorrow is to be 68 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 65 degrees and partly cloudy,  Sunday is to be 64 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 64 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 69 degrees and  sunny, Wednesday is to be 75 degrees partly cloudy. That's the week. Tonight there is a 40% chance of rain. That's the only chance we have and we certainly need that so I hope we get it! 

I read this afternoon and then tried to call Sally to see if she wanted to go to lunch. But I couldn't reach her. She was probably  doing her weekly shopping out of town. She won't use our market here in Caney.

I went out to Eggbert's for my lunch today. Now I will go back to my book for awhile.

I finished the first of my two library books this afternoon. Now it's  a little after 6:00PM. I may just take my bath now. But first I will take the library book I just finished up to the book drop at the library.

I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM  I may start the second book after my bath.

Wednesday and a Hairdo

I woke up very early again and could not get back to sleep. It's 4:23AM now and I cannot get back to sleep. I guess I will go read. I am working on my last book from the Caney library.

I tried to get into my bank account but I tried too many times and now I am locked out and will have to wait until the bank opens and I can get hold of them to help me log on now. 

I have a 9:00AM hairdo appointment in Coffeyville. I don't believe we have anything at the senior center today. I will call Janet and check later for sure after my hair appointment.

I made my bed and got dressed and ready for the day. I have been reading some but wanted to get my breakfast. And speaking of breakfast, when I opened the front door, Blondie was waiting for his breakfast too. So I took it out to him. Then I caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 84 degrees mostly sunny and windy, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Friday is to be 69 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 65 degrees and partly cloudy,  Sunday is to be 63 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 63 degrees and partly cloudy, and Tuesday is to be 65 degrees mostly sunny...Again...no rain! and we really need rain! That's the week!

The trip to Coffeyville and my hair appointment was "sun in my eyes" all the way.

I got my hair done and then went out to Woodshed and bought gas. After that, I went to Walmart and bought some groceries. Then I began home. I called Shelter Insurance to be sure Lexie was there and since she was, I went by and took her the paid bill (with John and Leslie's money). Lexie told me she thought they would only pay $100. of it. I explained to her again that we had tried to call the Shelter Insurance towing number and they said they had no plan in our area so it wasn't our fault we couldn't get the Shelter Insurance towing. We had to use a Coffeyville Towing business to get the car towed to Main Street Service and Tire at Caney. They had it done the next day (on Monday) at the end of business and brought it back to me. Lexie said she was going to include a cover letter to the insurance towing service explaining that it was their fault they had no plan in our area. If she can't convince them to pay the full $175, I will have to be responsible for the other $75.00. If that cover letter doesn't work, I will look for another insurance company. I am tired of being the fall guy for that company. After that woman who hit me in that wreck at "Just Us" last year fooled around for weeks before getting the rental car she was driving in for repair and they sued my insurance for the lost rentals, Shelter raised my rate $600. a year. $300. a half. That was ridiculous!  I had nothing to do with her fooling around before she took it in for a repair.

 

Tuesday and A Bad Night's Sleep

I don't know why I slept so poorly except for the terrible stressful day yesterday with trying to get my car fixed and get the repair paid for. I did get it back and repaired and Josh's brother brought it back to me after he got it repaired and closed for the day. I took it to Dollar General and got the few groceries I needed there. I will drop by the insurance office tomorrow and try to get the tow job reimbursed after Leslie and John had paid for it. The tow company the insurance company recommended did not have a tow company in our area so we had to call a local company out of  Coffeyville.

I got up earlier then usual...about 4:00AM. I just couldn't sleep any longer. I don't have a plan for today. I may ask Sally to go to lunch at lunch time. I will check with her closer to lunch time.

No rain in the forecast for this week. And we need rain badly!

I took my walk about 7:30AM and got back at 7:53AM. I stopped at the post office and bought more stamps.  I will get my last two letters in the mail today now.

I texted Esther but haven't heard back from her yet. She may be sleeping in now that she's back from Germany and at Phoenix for  a visit with her daughter and granddaughter..

Sally and I went to lunch at the Dairy Queen in Independence.  They have a great special of chicken strips, french fries, a Coke and a hot fudge Sundae for a little over $7.00.

I read most of the afternoon. I did catch the CBS news.

I just took my bath and will read awhile before taking my Melatonin and going to bed around 9:00PM. I was up very early this morning since I didn't sleep well at all.

Tomorrow I will talk to Lacey Hodges about having my car insurance reimburse me for the Tow job from the church on Sunday that John and Leslie paid for. I was supposed to have tow but when I called the agency that was to send it, they said they didn't have an agent in our area. So we had to call a local Tow company from Coffeyille.

I read until 9:00PM and then went on to bed.  I slept until 3:50AM and then woke up and could not get back to sleep.

 

Monday and a Problem

When I got ready to leave church yesterday..after the service, I found that my starter would not turn over at all. Mike and John tried to get it to work by tapping on it but nothing happened. It would not even make a noise. The starter was not going to work. We tried to call the wrecker my insurance recommended but there was not any of those in our area so we had to call a wrecker from Coffeyville to tow my car to Caney to Main Street Auto and Tire. It was Sunday so no one was there. We locked the car and put the key in the drop box next to their office door. Then Leslie and John brought me home. They paid the wrecker the $175. he charged.

About 8:00AM, I will try to call Main Street. I think they are open then. I can talk to the woman that runs the office if Josh Elliot or his brother, a mechanic too, isn't available. They are going to have to order a starter for that 15 year old car. That may take awhile.

I slept pretty well last night. ..considering everything. I was up before 6:00AM though.

I opened the door to Blondie and he was ready to eat. I was out of wet cat food. So he had to eat the dry cat food. Luckily I had plenty of that and he was hungry enough to eat it..

No rain in the forecast for the next week. And we really need rain!

I took my walk at 7:30AM this morning and while I was doing that after 8:00AM, I called the Main Street Repair Shop. I got Josh's brother and told him my Honda Civic was the one that had been towed into his parking lot. I also told him where the key to it was located and what I was sure was wrong with it...the starter.. He said he would check it out. I got back at 8:10AM and put the trash bag in the dumpster. It had been emptied. I put mine away and also Stephen's. I also took the mail I had stamps for and to be mailed and dropped it in the inside post office box. I need to go back up there with my debit card and buy more stamps. I used all I had on hand for the ones I mailed this morning.

Today was Columbus day so the post office was closed.

I walked up to Caney Pharmacy at 2:00PM and got my first shingles shot. She put it in my left arm since I had had the flu shot in my right arm at the doctor's office last week,  The doctor's office had renewed my two prescriptions without me having to call and ask Lora to do it. That's a first.

I noticed a smaller white cat came and ate the rest of Blondie's food later in the day. That's a new one. It looks like a small lighter edition of Blondie and Scruff. It might be one of her kittens. It will be interesting to see if it comes back today to eat again.

I finished my book and took it up to the library drop box and dropped it in.

I took my bath shortly before 7:00PM and since it was such a stressful day, I went to bed early.

 

Church on Sunday

 I slept very well last night and wasn't up until 6:00AM. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I started my coffeecake for today's breakfast at church. It's in the oven now. The timer is on.

I opened the front door and Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast too. So I brought his food out to him. He is eating now. 

I also caught "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 79 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 77 and sunny, Tuesday is to be 82 degrees and sunny, Wednesday  is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Thursday is to be 84 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Friday is to be 67 degrees and partly cloudy and windy and Saturday is to be 65 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week. Only one day of probable showers and that's Thursday.

I got to church just fine but when I was ready to leave after church My starter wouldn't work. Mike tried to tap on it and get it to work but that didn't work either.  John tried too but nothing worked. I tried to call the tow number my insurance company gave me and they told us they had no business in our area. So we called a different one. After we ate lunch he met us at the church and hooked up his tow truck to my car and lifted it up in the back of his tow. He met us at Main Street Auto Repair and tomorrow I will call Josh Elliot and tell him the problem. I have no idea how long it will take for him to get a new starter for my 15 year old car and get it installed. We left the car key in his drop box. Hopefully he will find it and fish it out of the box to move the car and check out the starter problem.

I will read some more this afternoon or what is left of the afternoon. I was going to mow that back yard but I am too tired to do that now.  This has been an exhausting day. The kids paid the $175. for the tow and I will pay them back when I get my social security. I will also owe for the new starter and the labor to install it.
