I took Zzzquil last night and slept well. I awoke in the middle of the night to visit with my youngest son who had some issues to discuss, but after a while, he finally got sleepy and after I went back to bed. I got right back to sleep. I slept until 6:00. Then I really had to get moving to get ready for Bob to pick me up for breakfast at 6:50. I fed Missy and dressed and got myself ready to go.
We had a good breakfast and he brought me back home afterward. I will finish my crossword puzzle now. I am not sure what today will bring. I don't have a plan.
More later...
I spent the day reading my latest book. It was one of those it's hard to put down.
Bob came over at 5:00 to watch the news and left about 6:10. I fixed some popcorn and we ate all of it.

Friday and a Trip to Chanute
I did not sleep all that well last night. I did take a Zyrtec but it didn't do a lot. I still woke up at 2:00 and never did get back to sleep. Finally I just got up at 2:00 AM.
After I dressed, fed Missy and myself and got ready for the day, I looked for the printout of the itinerary for my Alaska cruise in June but could not find it. I e-mailed Scott to see if he could send it to me again but he did not have it and Ginger is in Tennessee with her daughter..Finally, I went through my "sent" folder on the Outlook mail site and found it. This time I saved it and also printed it off and put it in a folder.I figured I had saved it on the laptop computer that died yesterday.
I am going to meet Gay at Opie's in Chanute today for lunch. She is doing better and is driving now. She will take Tony to his dialysis and then meet me at Opie's for lunch. I'm a little leery of her driving after her weird experience in October but I guess that's between Adele and her. Bob will be on his own for lunch.
I also want to go up to Independence early and see if I can get my "official" ID license. Everyone will need one before 2020 anyhow. I got my driver's license last month but this one has to have a "star" on it to be official. The man at the license bureau said the airline may not accept a regular driver's license for an ID anymore. It's up to their discretion. I want to play it safe and get the "official" one. They open at 7:00 AM so I want to get on my way..
more later...
Wouldn't you know! They closed today instead of on November 11th so I wasted a trip up there.
Anyhow, I went on to Chanute and did some Christmas shopping.
I had a good visit with both Gay and Adele. I came back home about 4:00. Then I learned that someone in California tried to log on to my facebook account and facebook would not accept my change of password. How aggravating!
More later....
It took me 30 minutes to get facebook to let me re-register and create a new account. That's aggravating too.
Anyhow, I have had my bath and Missy and I are just sitting here doing the blog. I bought some Zzzquil at Chanute today. I will try the liquid and try to get more sleep tonight. I will try to stay up until 9:00 and then take a dose of that and Missy and I will go to bed.

Thursday and Another Sleepless Night
Even though I was exhausted when I went to bed, I only slept until 2:00. At 3:00 after lying there for an hour, I just got up. It's 4:00 now and too late to get any more sleep. I will need to get some Zzzquil today. I can't go on this way...that's for sure.
The laptop came yesterday but when I booted it up, the screen was torn and I couldn't see any of the icons....not even the start button. I got the Cox service people on the desktop and explained it to Bill, the tech there at Cox. He logged on to the laptop remotely and could not see the problem. He decided the post office had damaged it in shipment. A new screen would be about $200. I guess it's trash now. Keith said there was only $50.00 in insurance on it for the shipment. He and Esther are determined to just buy me a new one. I will see if the little laptop with XP on it would access my bank account. I will need to take a laptop with me to Florida on the 29th to pay bills while I am gone.
Nothing has gone well for me lately. It is very depressing. I have been fighting depression ever since Monday when I learned that I couldn't have my surgery redone. Between lack of sleep and bad news, it's tough to stay positive.
I will clean my apartment today and change my bed and wash the sheets.
More later...
I am in luck! The small laptop I bought in 2006 still works fine. It has XP on it and Outlook Express but it works fine and I can take it to Florida with me to pay my bills online. I need to go to the bank I pay my rent at and get their routing number so I can make my deposit for the rent from Florida on December 1st. I have until December 5th to get it paid. Unfortunately, I don't get my social security until December 13th so I will have to use my savings to pay my rent the next two months. But Keith will not have to buy me a new laptop! This little old Dell works fine!
I have washed the kitchen and bathroom floors already and have my roast in the slow cooker for lunch. I am getting ready to vacuum the carpets. I do need to run to Country Mart for carrots for that roast. I have potatoes in with it already.
More later...
The apartment is clean now and lunch is over with too. It was good. Karan had forgotten my invitaion to lunch but when I called to ask her if she was on the way, she came right over. I went out to Walmart afterward but forgot to get the Zzzquil.
Bob came over at 5:00 to watch the news. When he left at 6:30, I took my bath and laid down with Missy on the sofa to watch "the Old House". I fell asleep almost immediately and missed the entire show. After I woke up, Missy and I just went on to bed. I think it was 8:00.

Wednesday and Exercises and Bingo
Another sleepless night. Missy and I went to bed at 9:00 but I woke up at 2:00 to go to the bathroom and could never get back to sleep. Finally, at 3:00, I just got up. No sense just lying there wide awake. Today, after my social security comes in I will go out to Walmart and get some Zzzquil. I have to get better sleep. I couldn't get the decision to wear a pessary in my bladder out of my mind. I dread that. I simply cannot go on with only 5 or 6 hours sleep indefinitely.
This morning I will go to exercise class and after lunch I will go back to Bingo. Then I will go to Dollar Tree and buy the contents of my shoe box for the shoe box project tonight. They plan to have a breakfast after we pack the shoe boxes this evening. I'm not used to eating in the evening so I don't know how that will go.
More later...I stayed up for awhile and finally decided to get the bed another chance. I finally did got back to sleep and slept until 6:00. Then I got up and get ready for the day and fed myself and Missy. I have finished reading the paper and finished the crossword puzzle. I feel pretty good.
I looked at yesterday's election status on facebook and was disappointed to see that only 2441 Coffeyville people voted at all. We have very few opportunities to influence our political situation but when out of a population of nearly 10,000 people, only 2441 voted, I can see why we have the government we have. Luckily two of the three to be elected were folks I voted for. The third is one of the clowns I was hoping would be defeated. What a tragedy.
I will go to exercise class this morning. Of course, I missed Monday because of Leslie's and my trip to Kansas City. After I get back home, I will fix our fish for lunch with potatoes and a veggie and then after that, clean up after lunch and go to Bingo. Then I will need to go fill my Samaritan Child shoe box. At 6:30 this evening,we have a shoe box filling party at church with a "breakfast" afterward.
More later...
Lunch turned out well and afterward I did get my shoe box filled and even read some. Bob came by at 5:00 to watch the news and at 6:00 we picked up Phyllis and went out to church for the shoe box filling evening. We filled about 50 boxes before we ran out of stuff to put in them. Johnna will bring more on Sunday to finish them out.
I ate some of the very good evening breakfast but when I got home I was absolutely exhausted and took my bath and Missy and I went to bed.

Tuesday and a Hair Day
I slept very well until 3:00 this morning when I finally just got up. Earlier this morning I e-mailed the Florida kids about my experience yesterday and Scott called and talked to me for over an hour. He was taking Ginger to Jacksonville for a colonoscopy. She was in the car too and heard our conversation. They had a woman come look at their house yesterday. She is bringing her husband to see it Thursday. They are hoping they may have a buyer.
Then I e-mailed Keith and Esther about it too. They will be here in two weeks to stay the three days over Thanksgiving. I am anxious to see them. It's been almost two years since I've seen them. They came for my 80th birthday.
I am disappointed.in the outcome of my tests and the doctor's decision not to try to repair my failed
cystocele and rectocele but I will just have to deal with it.
I did get my birth certificate back from the government in yesterday's mail. That was a relief. I have had the passport for three weeks. I had intended to try to call them today about that birth certificate but it had come in yesterday's mail. So I don't have to deal with that.
I will take Bob with me to Independence this morning if he wants to go. Otherwise, I will just drive up there, get my hair done and come home.
I sold another book yesterday and got it ready for mailing today. I will do that while I am in Independence this morning.
More later...
Bob wanted to come back to Coffeyville and try Simple Simon's Pizza. That's what we did. It wasn't bad but I much prefer Big Cheese. So I mailed off the book here in Coffeyville
I cleaned out the den and moved the small laptop to the dining room so I could get the trundle bed out for when Keith and Esther come for Thanksgiving. I will give them my bed and take the trundle. I moved the nightstand over under the window. I will vacuum in there on Thursday when I clean the apartment. I am going to get a box and begin cleaning out the nooks and crannies in this apartment.
It's only quarter past eight now and Missy and I will go to bed at 9:00. Hopefully I can sleep tonight.

Monday and Another Sleepless Night
I slept well until 2:00 when I woke up to go to the bathroom. I took my thyroid pill while there and cleaned the litter box out and then went back to bed. I never got back to sleep. Finally at 3:30, I just got up. I am going to have to get some more Zzzquil I guess. I just can't shut off my mind once I wake up.
Leslie and I will leave this morning at 8:00 - 8:30 to go to Kansas City for my doctor's appointment at Kansas University Medical Center. I dread that. They will infuse my bladder and bowel with water to see just how much I can hold. Sounds awful. I have to take my antibiotic this morning with my breakfast. I will take the bottle with me. I am supposed to take the other antibiotic pill after the procedure. Bob will be on his own for lunch. Those two pills were $5.50 each. They must be powerful. I don't want to have the surgery until after the first of the year. I don't want to have to deal with recuperating from it during the holidays.
More later...
I have fed Missy and myself and dressed and taken my meds. I wanted to watch the news but all I found was commercials. What a mess!
After the trip...
We ate a wonderful lunch at Perkins before my appointment. It was free pie day and they gave each of us pie to take home. Leslie bought three muffins and they gave us three free ones.
But what a day! I learned one thing I can record here...I am not a candidate for another surgery. I will just have to deal with it.
Leslie and I got back home at 8:30. I took my bath and Missy and I went to bed soon after. I was exhausted.

Sunday and Church
I set my clocks back before I went to bed last night. I went to bed at the new 9:00...8:00. I was very tired. I awoke at the new 4:00 however....3:00AM. I finally just got up after trying for awhile to shut off my mind and failed to get back to sleep. I have way too much on my mind and cannot seem to shut it down. So, it's 3:40 now and I am wide awake. I am definitely going to have to have a nap today. I have an ache in my back about the lung area. I may take an aspirin or two for that.
Missy missed the litter box again and peed on the bathmat I had just washed yesterday. I just turned it around and hope she will not do it again. I thought if I moved it away from the cabinet she might get further into it but that didn't work. She is just missing both of them on a fairly regular basis now. Old age is no fun for cats either. She will be 15 in March.
I heard from one of our parishioners who lives at Ponca City, Oklahoma. She is having some serious health problems and wants to be included on the prayer list at church. I forwarded her request to Leslie, who has the bulletin to print this morning. Maybe she can reprint her bulletin if she didn't take the actual bulletins home to print off on her own printer.
Phyllis is driving Bob and me to church this morning and possibly on to "Just Us" afterward.. I will have the coffee cake to take for the Church School class.
More later...
I have the coffeecake baked and iced and it is ready to go. I have read the paper and done the crossword puzzle too. I guess I am ready for the day.
So more even later. I will be doing the congregation's newsletters when I get home from lunch..
I got the newsletters finished and out on the mailbox after we got home from Just Us.. Then I went out to Walmart to get a few things I needed....including an ink cartridge.for my printer.
When I got home I watched a little TV. All my network channels were running football games. There wasn't much to watch.
Later Bob came over to read the newspapers and watch 60 Minutes...which was running late because of the football game..I could just about do away with TV no more good than I get out of it. Perhaps it's a good thing that my landlady is going to put up an antenna. There not much worth watching on cable, that's for sure. Certainly nothing worth $94.00 and change with the internet.
