Saturday and an Early Rise

I was up very early this morning, and read until I was finally able to sleep. It was a very restless night. It had been a terrible experience yesterday. I went up to the Dairy Queen and had their $7.00 special and then I started out of their exit on the north side of their parking lot. When I turned to the west, something drug under my car. As I turned toward Oak street, there was a dragging noise coming from under the car. I drove three blocks and the noise just got worse. I pulled into the corner stop sign  by Woods and a car stopped behind me. A guy in a pickup truck was driving. I asked him to check under my car and see what was making that dragging noise. He looked under the car and said, he could see something dragging under there and he had heard the noise when we pulled up to the stop sign. I told him I had better get to Quality Motors and have it checked out. 

That's what I did. The noise continued all the way to Quality and Scott Mills checked it out. Their estimator, Nina Goodman, had the car put up on a rack and she and Scott Mills made an estimate for insurance purposes.

It appears the 15 Front bumper guard clips were broken off. The splash shield for the Radiator support was gone. The estimate was a total of $2,450.27 counting labor. They conferred with one another and then suggested I submit their estimate to my insurance company and see if they would pay it.

They then came and told me they had suggested to one another that I just drive it as they had rigged it up. They had rigged it up and it was supported so it was no longer dragging. Nina said they conferred with one another and said "if this were your mother would you just suggest she drive it as they had it rigged up". That was their suggestion to me.

I went back to Coffeyville to my insurance agent and gave her their estimate. She said I had a $1,000 deductible on my comprehensive insurance and that would be the insurance that would be covering it. She suggested I discuss it with Leslie and get back to her later after that. I decided I could not afford to submit it to my insurance with that $1,000 deductible. I would just drive it the way it was as Nina and Scott suggested. They had just rigged it up so it wasn't dragging anything now.

I will go back up to Quality today and see what I can do about the bill. Maybe they will let me pay the labor at $100. a month. If they had ordered no parts and it was just labor, maybe I can pay it out that way. The labor is $619.20.

It's always something! 

Scott and Nina don't work on Saturday so I was unable to work anything out. I went over to the main office just as a man was unlocking the door. I went over the plan with hm and he said, "This is only an estimate and they arranged it for you to just drive the car the way they fixed it, So do what they suggested and just drive the car." So I did. It is working just fine now. And they said I didn't owe anything. And it's making no noise now.

I have fed the cats all morning. Blondie and Grey and Blackey have been fed at least twice. 

I went up to Joyce's and had my own lunch.  Then I came back home and read all afternoon. I finished the first Coffeyville library book.

I will take it back on Wednesday.

Friday and a Trip to the Dairy Queen

 I slept pretty well last night and was up at 5:00AM. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I opened the front door to find Blondie and Blackie waiting for their breakfasts. I took them out some cat food and they are eating now.

I am having my Chai Latte here in the den.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" and here it is.

Today is to be 92 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Saturday is to be 96 degrees and  partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 97 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 99 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 99 degrees and PM Thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 95 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 93 degrees and sunny. One day of rain is better then nothing!

I will go check on the cats and see if any more have come for their breakfasts..

Whitey, Blackie and Blondie came to eat breakfast. They are mostly finished now. 

I plan to have lunch at the Dairy Queen in Independence today. I went up earlier this week but the parking lot was completely full. I just went through the drive through and  bought a blizzard to go.

Thursday and Dinner at Copan.

 I slept pretty well last night and was up at 5:00AM and made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I opened the front door to Blackie and Grey who wanted their breakfast so I took it out to them. I see Whitey is across the street waiting for Grey and Blackie to leave so he/she can come eat..

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" and here it is. Today is to be 89 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 95 degrees and partly cloudy,  Sunday is to be 98 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 100 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 100 degrees and partly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 97 degrees and partly cloudy. It looks like a very hot week! No rain at all!

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept poorly last night. Awake off and on and not rested this morning. I haven't opened the front door to check on the cats yet. I think it's too early. It's just 5:22AM. I have had my own breakfast but have not checked on the cats yet. I have seen "the weather on the 8's"and here it is.

Today is to be 90 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 91 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 96 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 98 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 97 degrees and partly cloudy and Tuesday is to be 99 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week...no rain just plenty of partly cloudy.

I finally checked on the cats and there were three out there. Blackey, Blondie and Blue. So far I haven't seen Whitey.

About the appointment with the dermatologist yesterday.And Leslie went with me. First we had lunch..a very good salad lunch.There was nothing to be concerned about at all according to him. There was no cancer and according to him, nothing at all to be concerned about. That's what I thought but I thought I should get it checked out anyhow....just in case. I went back in the dentist office when I got back to Caney and gave them his opinion. Caroline put that on my chart. I have another dental appointment in March.

Tuesday and an Appountment with a dermatologisti

I will be going to Bartlesville today to see a dermatologist there at shortly before 2:30PM. Leslie will be going with me and we will have lunch first. I filled out the paperwork right  after I stopped in and made the appointment. Both my dentists thought I had cancer on my face near my right temple. I'm not so sure which is why I am seeing a dermatologist. That rough place has been there for years and has not changed. Years ago I did have a small cancer on my face when I used to see Dr. Eslicker.. but he retired after he got his twin boys though college. He took it off and it never returned.

I slept fairly well last night and was up at 5:00AM. When I opened the front door I had three cats waiting for me to open the door. They were Blondie, Blue and  Blackie. Now Whitey is waiting for Blue to finish so she he/she can eat what is left. I will need to get some more boxed cat food today. I only have one can left in the box. Keith had bought several boxes of it when he and Esther were here but only one can is left.

Today is to be 89 degrees and cloudy and windy, Wednesday is to be 90 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 90 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 98 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 96 degrees and partly cloudy Sunday is to be 96 degrees and partly cloudy and Monday is to be 97 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! No rain at all. And we could sure use some rain. Next Monday my yard is to be mowed again. I have Leslie's check for that mowing. I have put it on my calendar with a paper clip.

I called Leslie to ask what time she wanted to leave for Bartlesville and she said "noon". So we will leave at noon. She says she will drive. I will be ready.

Monday and Laundry

 I was up early as usual and began my laundry. I took the trash out to the curb..both of them...Mine and Stephen's. I dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I made my breakfast of Chai Latte and a breakfast bar...later I will go out to Eggbert's for a more and better breakfast.

I fed four cats and then a new one came too. It is a number of colors but I have never seen it before.  It ate and left. The other regulars ate and left too. Finally Whitey came and ate. Little Blacky came and Blondie and the other regulars.

In the meantime, I did a load of laundry, folded it and put it away. That's done for a week.

Then I caught "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 93 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 93 degrees too and partly cloudy and windy. Wednesday is to be 90 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 90 degrees and partly cloudy and Friday is to be 93 degrees and partly cloudy.  That's the week. No rain this week. Thank goodness the mowing and trimming was done yesterday afternoon.

A Change in Plans

I was up early as usual.and dressed and got myself ready for the day.There were several cats out there this morning..Blondie, Grey and Blacky as well as three more small black kittens, Evidently one of them..probably Blacky, had kittens over the weekend or even  earlier.this month or week.

I have my coffeecake in the oven now baking.

My TV went off while I was putting the coffee cake together. When I got that done I went in the living room and turned the TV back on. That's twice this week that has .happened....Luckily it did turn back on.

Krystal's daughter, one of them at least, will be mowing for me this afternoon....some time after I get home from church..

And I did catch the weather report. Today is to be 93 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is also to be 93 degrees and mostly sunny,   Tuesday is to be 90 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Wednesday is to be 90 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy, and Saturday is to be 94 degrees and partly cloudy. There was only one day of rain forecast yesterday and now that one is gone.

The two large Grey cats are still out there and also Whitey. The coffeecake is finished except for the glaze. When the butter melts and the powdered sugar in it, I will get that on it too.
