I woke up in the middle of the night and was not sure I would be able to get back to sleep. I finally did go back to bed and after the rain began, I went back to sleep and slept until almost 6:00AM..
I have dressed and fed Missy and myself. She is lying here at my feet.
It is still raining out there so it will be awhile until we try to go out. I don't have a plan for today. I do still need to dust and clean the counter in the bathroom. Maybe I will get that done this morning.
I looked on my son's.web site and found the new house they will start in September.
Here's a different view...
And another...
.
More later...
I drove around for awhile just to get out of the apartment. I bought some trail mix at the Dollar General store and ate that. I couldn't think of anything different I wanted to eat.
I lay down on the sofa for awhile and Alexa played some John Denver music for me. I thought about watching "Oh God" again but changed my mind. The rain makes me lazy. I took Missy out on the patio while I deadheaded my flowers. But it was pretty wet out there so she came back in.
More later...
Later in the day, Missy and I went out on the carport again. At 8:00 I took my bath, lay down on the sofa with Missy and we watched episodes of Perry Mason until bedtime. I went to bed at 9:30 and Missy followed me soon after.

Friday and Exercise Class
I slept well last night but then I took Zzzquil before I went to bed. That helped me sleep well.
Today I will go to exercise class and finish the cleaning of the apartment afterward. I still need to vacuum the bedroom and dust. I had washed the filter on my vacuum and it was supposed to dry 24 hours so I didn't finish that last room yesterday. Every time I vacuum I get a huge wad of cat hair in the tank . Missy is really shedding. I really need to vacuum at least twice a week. I do have to vacuum with my left arm though because of my right arm rotater cuff.
Missy is patiently waiting for daylight so we can go outside. Poor old cat...that is one of her favorite things to do.
I could continue cleaning out closets today but I am out of large boxes. I will check that out later.
Missy and I did go outside but she suddenly bolted for Evelyn's carport and caught a very small bird. I could not get her to give it up. It was pitiful. All but the tail was in her mouth and the tail was twitching so it was still alive. I was so angry. It looked like a baby wren.I brought her back in and looked around later to see if it had made her sick....evidently not.
More later...
Bob called and asked if I wanted to go to breakfast and I did. I had had a tiny bowl of oatmeal but I had room for the Silver Dollar Special and so he picked me up and we ate at Eggbert's. I will probably not eat lunch until well into the afternoon.
I did go to exercise class this morning and did what I could do without hurting my right rotater cuff. Then I went to the market to buy stamps and mailed my letter off and stopped at the Dollar Tree and found those small Styrofoam coffee cups we use at church...for $1.00. I bought a package. I also found the larger covered cake pans there like Karan and Phyllis use for $1.00 too. I had looked at the market and they did not have them. So I bought one of theirs for next time I bake cakes for the First Christian Church in Independence.
Now I will put the dry foam filter back in the vacuum sweeper and when Missy is out of my bedroom, I will vacuum in there. Right now she is in there on my bed..sleeping.
More later... I am still steaming the CBSN news so I will go watch it on my notebook computer. The TV picture was tearing again this morning. I see McCain is stopping treatment for his cancer. He will not last long now. I imagine it has been a terrible ordeal for him.
Missy is still sleeping in the bedroom so I will wait until she wakes up and gets up to finish the vacuuming.. Missy is up now. She has been eating her cat food. If she stays in here, I will finish the vacuuming in the bedroom.
I went to Country Mart and bought some Onion soup mix for my meat that I intend to cook for Sunday's basket dinner. I will add potatoes and green beans to the slow cooker.
Also, I finally got the bedroom vacuumed. I also microwaved some sweet and sour chicken and ate that.
Later...
At 6:00, I took my bath and Missy and I watched three episodes of Perry Mason and then went to bed ta 9:00PM.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning Day
I slept well last night although the right shoulder (rotater cuff) was very sore. I slept anyhow. I got up near 5:00AM and dressed and fed myself and Missy. Missy isn't eating a lot anymore and has lost some weight. She doesn't eat all her treats at once but nibbles on them through the morning. She also sleeps a lot.
We went out briefly awhile ago but there was too much traffic out there and she was ready to come back in pretty quickly.
I will clean today and then go out to Walmart later and buy a few groceries. This evening, I will take my car over to Gary. He will look it over tomorrow and try to figure out what is causing the problem with starting from time to time.
I talked to Scott, my younger son, this morning. He is very unhappy with his new security job. He has 36 people under him and some are homeless and others have no car and are always late. He says all but one are just losers who can find no other job. He is very upset and is in the progress of trying to find another job...even if it doesn't pay as well. They want him to sleep with his phone and be on call all the time. He only sleeps about 5 hours a night as it is. He wants a job that gives him a "normal" life.
In about an hour, I will vacuum the apartment and wash the floors in the bathroom and kitchen. Then I need to dust.
I have a good TV picture this morning. So I am watching the news on the TV instead of on line through streaming.
More later...
I cleaned the apartment and then Gary called and said he had some "no shows" and if I wanted to bring him my car he would try to get it to do the "no start" thing off and on all day and see if it would do it for him. I did that and he brought me back home. Since I was without a car all day , I cleaned out my dining room closet and boxed up things from it that I will take to the rummage sale at the senior center on October 13th. The closet looks nice and neat now. I still have the den closet to check out and the living room closet too but I have some time to get that done..
Karan took my to pick up my car and then I went out to Walmart and bought my groceries and then to Dollar General and bought Missy's litter.
Later Diana called and asked about why she could not reach her dad by phone. I told her he was at the doctor's office in Bartlesville and they ask everyone to turn off teir phones while there.
Then Denise came by the apartment and asked me the same thing. She stayed awhile and visited after I told her the same thing.
At 7:00PM I took my bath and Missy and I watched a couple of episodes of Perry Mason before we went on to bed a little after 9:00PM.

Wednesday and a Doctor's Appointment
I slept well last night but I did wake up with a very sore right shoulder. It's better now that I'm not lying on it now though. I have dressed and fed Missy and myself.
Now I'm watching the news. So far the picture is doing fine...no tearing.
I will go on to exercise class at 9:00 and afterward after my lunch will go on to Bartlesville for my 2:00 appointment with Dr. Eslicker. My right ear has a small growth on it and I want him to take a look at it
Missy is being good this morning. She is just lying here at my feet waiting for daylight. She will want to go outside, I'm sure.
I texted Bob and he had just got up. He said he slept well. That's good. He has problems sleeping too.
More later....
I did take Missy out and she was very good so I stayed out with her and deadheaded the flowers. We came in when it was her idea. I wish she would always be that good.
In another hour, I will leave for exercise class. First I want to go to the bank and get some more cash for the weekend. I ate out three times this week and that took it all. First I want to watch the CBS news.
More again later...
After exercise class I dropped by Gary's and made an appointment to take my car in Thursday evening and find out why it sometimes fails to start. I try two or three times to start it and it finally does start. This has happened twice. But I don't trust that it always will. I have a 2:00 appointment with Dr. Eslicker in Bartlesville this afternoon and I am hoping it will start alright so I can get home from there. totally gross
I went to Bartlesville and on to the doctor after I had lunch at "Pies and More".. He took two basil cells off my face and one off my left ear. I didn't know they were even cancer. I thought my right ear may have had that problem but he said that was just a pressure place. He gave me some padding to put on it to protect it..
Then I came back home. First I stopped at the Dewey Sonic and bought a small banana milkshake. Then I bought gas at their Sinclair station and then came on home.
I took Missy out for awhile and again, she was very nicely behaved.
After the news I will take my bath and watch TV with Missy until bedtime.

Tuesday and a Good Night's Sleep
I slept well last night. I got up close to 5:00AM and got myself ready for the day, fed Missy and myself and started to watch the Channel 6 news. It was tearing so I got it on the notebook computer and watched it that way.
Bob texted me to see if I had any leftover chocolate frosting. He did not have enough to finish icing his cake. I told him all I had was almost half a can in the frig and he asked to come over with his cake and use it to finish icing it. I said "sure" and soon he was here. I iced his cake because I had to be very careful not to tear the cake when I iced mine yesterday. Of course, mine was warm. His was completely cool since he baked it last evening.
I am going to take a chance on my starter working today. I need to go to my beauty shop appointment at 9:30AM and then on to Independence to deliver the four cakes. I will check to see if Juanita has her bank statement while I am there. Then tomorrow I have my Dr. Eslicker appointment at 2:00PM in Bartlesville. Then I am free to see Gary about the starter.
So more later....
So far, so good. I went to my beauty shop appointment and then on to deliver the cakes to the First Christian Church in Independence. Then I went by Juanita's to see why she did not answer her phone when I called. I found she had her TV on too loud to hear it. She did have her bank statement though and I stayed and balanced her checkbook.
Then I came home about 11:30 and went over to Braum's and had a hamburger and french fries and a small milk shake. I couldn't figure out what to have for lunch so I took the easy way out.
Then I came back home and read all afternoon. I have been reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" again. There is a book discussion at the library on the 30th about the book and I want to attend.
I read my mail, paid some of my bills and eventually gave Missy some of her treats.
I will try to go to Bartlesville tomorrow to my doctor's appointment with Dr. Eslicker. The starter worked today but I am quite sure the starter is the problem. I will see Gary Wednesday afternoon. I noticed today that he is swamped with business since Greg has retired and he is the only really good mechanic in town....he and Brandon who works for him.
I tried watching my TV again but it is still tearing way too badly. I tried to watch the news on my computer but it wasn't streaming very well either. It must be the weather.
In an hour or so, I will take my bath and watch some Amazon Prime. Then at 9:00, Missy and I will go on to bed.

Monday and A Busy Day
I slept well last night, woke up only once, went to the bathroom and cleaned up Missy's litter box then went back to bed and went right back to sleep and slept until 5:00.
I dressed and got ready for the day, fed Missy and myself and plan to go to exercise class.
I have a load of laundry going this morning. It's in the dryer now.
I will fix my casserole dish for Mike and Laura this afternoon and Karan and I will take the food to them leaving about 5:00 this afternoon. Phyllis has her dessert already done. Karan will fix a nice salad and my casserole dish should make it a balanced meal. My hamburger pie recipe has green beans in it too.
Missy wants to go outside but it's still dark out there so she will have to wait.
More later....
I did go on to exercise class and afterward came on back home and baked my cake for the Christian Church for their dinner tomorrow evening. I will make up my hamburger pie for Mike and Laura about 4:00PM today and Karan and I will deliver the food this evening. We will leave for Cherryvale at 5:00PM. I cooled the cake and iced it afterward.
About 4:00PM I made up the hamburger pie. Karan and I left for Cherryvale at 5:00PM. After we visited awhile with Mike and later Laura, we started to leave. The car would not start. I tried three times and it finally started. Thanks goodness! When I got back to Coffeyville I went by Auto Zone and had the alternator and battery checked and they were both fine. The man there said it might be the starter. Tomorrow I will take it by Gary's Automotive and have him check that out. I cannot be without a car. I have too much going on right now. I have a hair appointment in the morning at 9:30 and have to take the cakes to Independence after that and a doctor's appointment on Wednesday at 2:00 in Bartlesville.. I will also have to balance Juanita's checkbook this week sometime.
It's always something.
Mike has an appointment in Kansas City next Monday so they will not want dinner then. Then Mike hopes to have his second surgery on the following Monday. They will keep us informed about that.
Now I need to eat something and take my bath and watch TV with Missy. It's 7:00PM now.

Sunday and Church
I slept well on my new mattress last night. I got up at my regular time...5:00AM. I have dressed and emptied Missy's litter box and even had my breakfast and coffee and fed Missy.
I can't believe it but I have TV this morning....so far. And it's a good clear picture.
I will go to church as usual this morning. Missy is after me to go outside but at 6:25, it's still dark. We will wait awhile. We are forecast for rain today. So far, I don't hear or see any rain. I see Tulsa is getting rain but they are 70 miles south of us.
I hope to eat at "Just Us" this morning after church but will eat with John and Leslie if they want us to do that. But Leslie is on call this weekend. She never knows when she will be called out.
Bob is to bring his pumpkin bread this morning for the Church School class. He may make his banana nut bread. He seems to alternate those.
It's beginning to get light now. I wonder if Missy will notice.
More later....
Missy did notice. We went out several times but she did not like the rain so I finally just brought her back in.
Bob came by and we went on to pick up Phyllis and go on to church. The service was good. Afterward Bob gave Chris part of his pumpkin Bread...four pieces
Afterward we did go to "Just Us" to eat lunch. While there, I made reservations for 9 for Thanksgiving dinner. It poured down rain all morning and is still raining. It is supposed to rain all day.
I had my rhubarb pie for dessert and then when I got home I had an ice cream bar.
I got our congregational newsletter done and out on the mailbox for the mailman to pick up tomorrow..
I still have clear TV this afternoon. I am watching the golf tournament. Later, if the picture stays clear at 6:00 I will watch 60 Minutes.
More later....
60 Minutes was in and out with the weather problems in Tulsa. I watched it the best I could.
I changed to Amazon Prime after I took my bath and watched a couple of episodes of Perry Mason shows. Then at 9:00, Missy and I went to bed.
