Saturday and Keith and Esther Here

I slept until my usual 5:00AM and then got up and tried to quietly go into the bathroom and get myself ready for the day. I had a problem sleeping off and on last night. My legs kept getting cramped and finally I crept into the bathroom and got the "over the counter" med that I keep on hand for that and put one of them under my tongue and after it melted, the leg cramps cleared up. I had to take that med twice though. I don't know why the leg cramps happened. Sometimes my feet cramp but that's rare. But that's why I keep that med in the medicine cabinet. I hope I didn't disturb the kids creeping in there in the middle of the night. But I finally got my sleep out. I got up at 5:00AM, tried to quietly go into the bathroom and get myself ready for the day.

I won't have my breakfast until they are up and around. It's only 5:50AM now. I may go read for awhile and try to be quiet.

Keith got the old laptop working again too. He got the WiFi turned back on. I had worked for hours trying to figure out how to get the WiFi turned back on that but my efforts were futile. It kept telling me it was on Airplane mode and I couldn't get that turned off so I could turn on the WiFi.  It took him about ten minutes. That's why he is an IT for the Department of Defense and I am just an old woman struggling to keep it all together.

I didn't check on the cats because raising the garage door to take their food out would be noisy and might wake up the kids.  But I did get the TV on just in time to see the weather forecast for the week.

Today is to be 71 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 73 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 70 degrees and AM showers, Tuesday is to be 75 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 78 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 82 degrees and sunny, and Friday is to be 83 degrees and mostly sunny.

That's the weather for the week. One day of rain... on Monday...the day the kids will be leaving for Tulsa and their plane back to Arizona.

Friday and Keith and Esther Come

I was up at my usual time this morning and stripped my bed and remade it. I put the sheets I took off the bed in the washer as usual, added my pajamas and underwear and hit the start button. Nothing happened. I had already put the detergent in so the sheets had detergent in them. I had also put my underwear in too. I tried everything but nothing happened. The washer would not work. So I took the laundry out and put it in a basket. I will go to the laundromat later this morning and do the laundry and bring it home to dry it in my dryer. Sometime next week I will call a washer repairman..if there is such a person around here anymore. This is not a good time to have this happen. Keith and Esther will be coming in sometime this afternoon. I just want to get the laundry washed and done and put away before that. That washer is only three years old. John, my son in law,  bought it and the dryer for me when I moved in here. I do laundry once or twice a week depending on the circumstances.

Now I need to get my face made up and when it gets light I will check on where the laundromat is out on west 4th Street... and what kind of change I will need to do the laundry.

There were no cats out there when I checked but I did catch the "weather on the 8's"

Today is to be 68 degrees and sunny, Saturday is to be 70 degrees and  partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 71 degrees partly cloudy, Monday is to be 70 degrees and mostly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 75 degrees and mostly sunny, and Wednesday is to be 77 degrees and sunny Thursday is to b e 70 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week...and no rain again this week.

More Even Later ....

I went over to where I thought the new laundromat was and it appears to be closed. I called Leslie to see if I could do my one load of wash at her house but she and John both have bad colds and they don't want me to get one. They both must be miserable. She was all stopped up and she said John's nose was running so I decided to just go over to Coffeyville and do it there. After the sun goes further up I will drive over there but right now it is in a blinding place. So I will wait an hour or so until the sun is up further in the sky.  Keith and Esther are not due here until this afternoon. They want to do some shopping at Bartlesville's Walmart.

More Later...  I will have some oatmeal. I have had my coffee and my Chai. But I will have  a breakfast bar and some oatmeal while I am waiting.

On top of everything else, when I tried to check my e-mail I found I had no internet either on the desktop computer. So I rebooted it and it then picked up the signal..

I took my one load of laundry over to the Coffeyville laundromat and washed it. That one load cost me $4.00 to wash. Thank goodness I had some ones. They had a change machine and I just had to keep feeding it ones until it gave me enough quarters to wash that one load. Anyhow it's done now. I brought that load home and put it in my dryer. It's drying now.

I took the advice of the woman who read my blog and turned the plug for the dryer off in the fuse box and plugged it back on then unplugged the washer and  re plugged it in and it worked!! The washer works now!

I just tested it.

Keith and Esther came around 2:00AM and we visited for quite awhile so I didn't get back to the blog until late afternoon. Keith had bought me a new laptop computer since it appeared the old one was dead.  After he got the new computer finished setting up, we went to Pizza Hut for dinner and had a very good personal pan pizza each and a soft drink. We visited all afternoon. A friend of Keith's had given him a good Canon printer and he set that up for me too. Then we went out to Dollar General and he bought me a lot of bottled water to drink as well as typing paper and several other things he felt I needed...White Out included. He worked most of the day setting up the new laptop computer and the printer. I sure felt spoiled.

We stopped at Mr. G's and had ice cream for dessert.

About 9:00PM I took my bath and got ready for bed. I brought the clothes I will wear tomorrow into the den where I will sleep.  I am sure they are exhausted. They had a huge day! While Keith worked on setting up the new laptop, Esther took a nap. I was glad she did. She had driven the rental car down to Caney from Tulsa. And to get to their  plane on time, they had got up at 2:00AM.

It's 9:28PM now and as soon as I copy my blog to Keith blog, I will go to bed.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept well again last night and was up at 5:00M as usual. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day.  Soon I will make my breakfast and eat it here in the den while I am blogging. I will be so glad when I can have a laptop again. I like to eat my breakfast while I am waiting for "the weather on the 8's" to come on and from a TV tray in the living room. It's habit, I guess. Then I can open the front door and see if the cats are waiting for their breakfast.

Both cats came for their breakfast and I took it out to them and they ate fast and left.  Scruff came back twice before I was able to take the cat food back in to cover it.

Then the weather came on. Today is to be 62 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 68 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 70 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 72 degrees and  partly cloudy, Monday is to be 72 degrees and mostly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 75 degrees and partly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 70 degrees and sunny. That's the week. Again no rain..

I saw in the Chronicle that Caney is thinking of not filling the city swimming pool because the Caney river is so low. That means the kids would have to swim in either Coffeyville's or Independence's pools if that happens.

Besides that, the city is raising the water rates over it.

I have been watching the CBS news and playing solitaire on my phone. I also mopped the bare floors and am getting ready to vacuum the apartment.  I hadn't seen Stephen and Dee Anna in some time and hoped they were alright, I texted Stephen and he texted me back that they were alright and had been here briefly a couple of times since Valentine Day but evidently I had missed seeing them.

I better start the vacuuming if I want to get everything done before the kids come tomorrow.

I am planning to make some Broccoli/Cheese soup for our dinner tomorrow too. I want to get some cheddar cheese to use with the crackers we will eat with it.

Aha! I had some in the frig that has not even been opened.

More Later...

I finally got the vacuuming finished and emptied the dust and have the vacuum sweeper on the charger now. I need to put the other filter in it but can't figure out how to get the dirty one out of it's case and the clean one in. I'll check with the instruction book and see if that will clear it up.

Sure enough, it was a lot simpler then I thought. The hardest thing about cleaning the apartment is carrying those heavy chairs back and forth under the dining table so I can run the sweeper on the rug under that table. I am not supposed to lift over 15 pounds.

Now I need to dust.

I put away the vacuum sweeper after it finished charging.

I had a salad for my lunch and then I made a pot of soup. I don't know whether the kids will want soup but I enjoy it myself. I will just play it by ear.

Leslie contacted me to say she had planned to cook Easter dinner and when I asked her what I could bring, she said bring the rolls. So I went to the market and bought rolls for the dinner and then left my cookie sheet out so I wouldn't forget them Sunday.

I have been reading another book. I put the other one in the library book drop. It turned out to be science fiction and that is one type of book I have never enjoyed. This one is more to my liking...at least so far. It is 2:35PM now.

I read until time for the CBS news and then watched that until 7:00PM when I took my bath and put my pajamas and robe on. I will read until I go to bed at 9:00PM. I have only two Melatonin left and that with the allergy pill will get me through the night. I will go out to Dollar General tomorrow and get some more Melatonin. I have a hard time sleeping without it. That and the allergy pill gets me through the night each night.

I want to strip my bed in the morning and do my towels and personal laundry too.

Wednesday and Bunco at the Senior Center

Today  I will go to Coffeyville to get my hair done and take my book with me to read until time for Bunco.

I have my treat to take and I left it in the car. so I wouldn't forget it.

I slept well again last night after taking my Melatonin and my allergy pill. I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

Keith and Esther will be here on Friday and stay until Monday when they will go back to Phoenix until time for them to move to Stuttgart, Germany later this month. I will wait until Friday morning to change my bed. I will give that to them and sleep on the daybed trundle in the den myself.

I am eating my breakfast here in the den now. I will now go turn on the TV to get the weather news and check on the cats too.

The cats were not out there yet but I did catch "the weather on the 8's" . And I did rinse out their water bowl and fill it with fresh water. It had leaves in it. And I swept off the doormat too.

Today is to be 59 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 64 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 69 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 70 degrees and partly cloudy, and Sunday is to be 74 degrees and partly cloudy,   Monday is to be 77 degrees and mostly sunny and Tuesday is to be 83 degrees and sunny. It looks like a mild week with no rain and lots of sunshine, We really need the rain.

More Even Later... Scruff did eventually come for her breakfast. I never did see Blondie. After Scruff ate, I took the cat food back into the garage and covered it.

I got my hair done and then went to the library and sat out front and read in my book until it was time to prepare for Bunco at the senior center. Then we played Bunco from 1:00PM until 3:00PM and  then I went out to Marilyn's apartment to take her the puzzles I had finished and I took Karan the newsletters I had received in the mail about heart problems.  She has Atrial fibrillation and is at risk for stroke or heart attack.

Then I came on back home.

I read until I finished my latest book and took it up and put it in the library's book drop with a note about it being for their used book sale.

At 7:00PM, I took my bath and started to read on another book...one I really am not interested in. It's science fiction and I really have no interest in that type of book. Tomorrow I will take it to the library and drop it in the book drop with another note.

It' 8:42PM now and I may just go on to bed. I will need to take my two Melatonin tablets and the allergy pill first.

Tuesday and Nothing Much Going On

I slept well again last night and was up and around at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I really don't have a plan for the day. The trash collectors will be by mid morning and so I will need to get my trash container out to the curb. I am eating my breakfast here in the den this morning.

Sally and I went to Bartlesville last evening to see the next to the last "concert" on our tickets...if you can call it a concert at all. There was no music at all...just a lot of stomping and clapping and jumping around the stage. I should have stayed home. I found out why they called it "Stomp" because that's what it was..six men stomping all over the stage. I can't imagine why the entire thing had been on Broadway. It was strictly nonsense! Within ten minutes I would have been ready to leave if Sally hadn't driven and if I hadn't been with her. We sat through two hours of six men stomping around the stage.

We got home at 10:00PM and I took my bath and went to bed.

This morning I began another book. I read until almost 8:00AM when the weather forecast came on.

Both cats had come for their breakfast and ate and left and I took the leftover food back in the garage and covered it.

And here's the forecast!

Today is to be 82 degrees and cloudy and windy, tomorrow is to be 59 degrees and  sunny, Thursday is to be 65 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 68 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 72 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is t be 77 degrees and partly cloudy, and Monday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy. That's a lot of partly cloudy! No rain again!

It's 11:19AM now and I am going to warm up some of the soup I fixed yesterday. I have crackers and maybe some cheese to go with it. I have been reading all morning on another of Denise's books. I am slowly reading my way through them and donating them to the library as I do.

More Later... It's 6:25 PM now and this afternoon I first watched the Trump indictment and then downloaded the movie, "Dirty Dancing". I will get ready to take my bath in a little while and then after that go back to my book again. This one is an autobiography of the movie star, Jennifer Grey, who had the female lead in Dirty Dancing. That's what made me download the movie on Amazon Prime and watch it again.. I had seen it a couple of times over the years but the book seem to invite me to download it and watch it again. I enjoyed it.

More Later...

I will take my bath and put my pajamas on in 15 minutes.

Monday and a Visit To Nancy

I slept well again last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I turned on the TV for the weather and went into the kitchen to get my breakfast done, I caught the weather forecast right off. I haven't tried to open the door to check on the cats. It's a little early at 5:59AM and I would like to get my breakfast eaten before I check on the cats.

Today is to be  83 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun. Tuesday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 62 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 69 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 72 degrees and partly cloudy, and Sunday is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! No rain forecast.

Now I will check on the cats,,, No cats yet! So I will finish my breakfast.

I got my breakfast  eaten and went back to my latest book.

Now, it's after 9:00AM and I am ready to get down to Bartlesville and get my car washed. It's been t least a week. Then I will go to Nancy's and visit while she gets dressed. Then we will go find Sally for lunch.

More Later...when I get back home.

I got to Nancy's about 10:00AM after I went out to Okie's and washed and cleaned up my car. It took her awhile to get dressed and then there was a group there playing music and we stayed awhile and listened to their music before we went to meet Sally for our lunch.

We met her at Boulevard Cafe and had a bowl of very good soup. After I paid for our lunch, I took Nancy back to her assisted living home. I told her Keith and Esther were coming Friday and would be leaving the following Monday  to go back to Phoenix and I was not sure what time they would be leaving but if it was later, I would call and tell her I would be later then usual getting down to see her and take her to lunch.

This evening Sally will be coming to pick me up at 6:00PM to take us down to Bartlesville to watch "Stomp", the next musical on our schedule at the Bartlesville Community Center.

More Later...I will go back to my latest book again.

I finished that book and took it to the library with a note that it is for their used book sale.

Now I am ready to start another. But I will wait until tomorrow.

Bunco is Wednesday at the senior center. I will need to get a treat for that before then.

Now I am going to go watch the CBS Evening news.

More Later...

Sunday and A Different Church Today

I slept well again last night. I had taken my Melatonin and allergy pill and that seems to be the answer to better sleep.I was up and made my bed and dressed by 5:00AM as usual. Leslie and Melissa and Kelly are all three gone today and there is no one who knows how to run the projector at church. We no longer have a pianist. We project the music and words to the hymns on a large screen. We still have hymnals but with the music and words projected, we can sing from the screen but we have to have someone who knows how to do the computer and projector or we would be singing acappella.. So there is no church today at our church. Church without music would not be church. I thought about attending one of our local churches and I may do that yet.

I am having dry eye problems again today. I have had my contact out three times this morning and put drops in both my eye and in the contact itself but it still is not seating well.

I am having my breakfast here in the den as usual. Soon I will go turn on the TV and wait for "the weather on the 8's" and see if the cats are out there waiting for their breakfasts.

Both cats were out there waiting for me to open the door and feed them..so I did. They ate and left and I brought their food back in the garage and covered it.

Then I caught the weather forecast:.

Today will be 75 degrees and  mostly sunny and windy, tomorrow will be 93 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy and windy,Wednesday is to be 58 degrees and sunny,   Thursday is to be 60 degrees and mostly sunny, .Friday is to be 66 degrees and partly cloudy, and Saturday is to be 70 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week! No rain that I can see.

More Later...

I decided to go to the church out here in the newer addition. I believe it's called Cornerstone. Brad Stephens was the pastor and he had a very good sermon. He used to be the preacher at the First Methodist Church here in Caney and he preached David Perkins' mom and dad's funerals. I recall going to those funerals and seeing David there too afterwards. Brad did a good job. That's been a few years. It's 12:19PM now and I just had a bowl of soup with crackers for my lunch.

I need to get some dish washing soap (Dawn) and cranberry juice. I guess I will go out to Dollar General for that.

So, More Later...

I went out to Dollar General and bought the few things I needed. I also got $20.00 cash because I was out of money and I won't be going to the bank until Wednesday.

I started to work on my blog when I got back but neither computer were getting the internet. I rebooted the desktop computer, I haven't had internet on the laptop computer for a couple of weeks or more.

More Later...I guess I will read again now.

I put down my book and came in the den to download Zoom and watch the Mission Center's Zoom worship service.

Now I will get back to 60 Minutes. I recorded that. I watched the 60 Minutes that I had recorded and then I took my bath at 7:00PM.

I will read again until 9:00PM when I plan to go to bed.
