Saturday and Viewing Puppies

I got up about 6:00AM and dressed and got myself ready for the day and had my breakfast. I had five cats/kittens come for their breakfast. I took out the double dish and both blue bows and the square one so they would each have their own dish.

They ate their fill and were about to leave when the wind came up and the thunder started and it began to rain. It rained pretty hard for awhile and then got lighter and calmed down. I got all the dishes back in the house when the wind came up.

The little storm lasted about 40 minutes and then cleared up. Coffeyville's lasted about the same length but they were 30-40 minutes behind us. It may start up again later. I believe it is still in the forecast.

I still plan to pick up Nancy after lunch and go see the puppies out at the kids' house about 1:30PM. I will try to remember to take some photos.

More later....It's 8:45AM now.

I went out about 9:30AM and trimmed the hedge again. About every week to 10 days I have to do that. I just trim off what has grown in that time. I am trying to get the center of my hedge to grow the same height as the rest of it. I don't know why it is shorter then the rest but I assume someone in the past trimmed it too short in the middle.

Then I came back in to watch "Lucky Dog" again. They are running summer reruns on Cox but that's all there is in the summer except for Amazon Prime.

More later...

I picked up Nancy at 1:00PM and we went out to see the little puppies. They have really grown..especially around the middle. They nurse constantly. Nancy and I both held each of them. They are so cute. All but one are sold but they can't be away from Octavia until the are eight weeks old.

I took Nancy back home and stayed awhile and visited. Then Dale and his wife came wit her groceries and I took the opportunity to come back home. I hate the way they boss her around. They were unloading her groceries so I left.

I spent the rest of the evening reading until bedtime, I took my bath at 8:00PM and went to bed at 9:00PM.

Friday and Dusting

I slept very well last night and didn't get up until almost 6:00AM. That is unusual.

I have dressed and got myself ready for the day. I will vacuum the dining room today and dust everything.

I had the usual five cats/kittens when I opened my front door.  I fed them all and now they are all gone. I left the double dish out there in case one comes back. Usually Scruffie comes back after all the others are gone and enjoys eating without competition. Usually she has to share with her two kittens.

I went out last evening and trimmed some dead branches out of my potted flowers.

More later...

I got the dining room vacuumed and most of the apartment  dusted. I need to finish the dusting Saturday after the news is off.

I  then watched some Amazon Prime and read in my new book and even played some FreeCell games on the laptop computer.  I went over to visit Nancy mid afternoon and stayed until time for the news in the evening at 5:00PM. We had some popcorn as we visited.  Then I came on home.

I talked to John and he told me all but one puppy was sold. Of course they won't be delivered until they are weaned and old enough. I asked him if it was alright to come see them again tomorrow afternoon and he said "sure" so I called Nancy and asked her if she wanted to go with me at 1:00PM tomorrow and she did want to go. I will pick her up at 1:00PM and should be out to the kids' at close to 1:30PM.  So that will give us something neat to do tomorrow afternoon.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and went on to bed at 9:00PM.

Thursday and Cleaning Day

I slept well last night and got up shortly after 5:00AM, dressed and checked my e-mail. Then I came into the kitchen and fixed my oatmeal and coffee.

After I got that done I opened the front door to five cats/kittens waiting for their breakfast. I took out the double dish and the two blue bowls and a square one so each one would have their own bowl. The kittens share one.

I have checked my checking account and balanced my checkbook.

I will begin my cleaning soon. I am still drinking my chai. Again, I will clean while the commercials are on. I can't stand the commercials. They are way too frequent and repetitious. I will start with the bare floors and mop them.

So more later...

I got the bare floors mopped and they are drying now. At the next group of commercials, I will vacuum the bedroom and halls.

Last of all I will do the living room and den. I leave the dining room until the very last because I have to move those heavy chairs out of the  dining room. I don't try to pick them up....I just drag them over the carpet. I am not supposed to lift more then 10 pounds.

So, more later.

I got everything vacuumed except the dining room. I took the sweeper apart and wiped all the parts down and washed the filters. They are supposed to dry for 24 hours so I will do the dining room and dust everything tomorrow after they are all dry. And I am tired too.

Before I went to bed last night, I re-numbered all the classmates on my classmates list to reflect the three that died that were reported this week. Then I added their names to my deceased classmates list.

More later...

I went out to Dollar General and bought my ice cream bars. After I had my chicken pot pie for lunch,  I ate one.

Then I began reading my latest book that came this morning in the mail. It is called "Hoax and Donald Trump, Fox News, and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth" and talks about the bad influence Fox News and Sean Hannity have on Donald Trump. and vice versa. The president watches six hours of Fox News on TV every day. It is marked off his calendar as "Executive Time".

It is written by Brian Stelter of CNN fame. Prior to joining CNN in 2013, Stelter was a media reporter at The New York Times. His first book, New York Times best seller "Top of the Morning" inspired the Apple TV + drama "The Morning Show". He is a consulting producer on the series. He is also the executive producer of the HBO documentary "After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News." Hoax exposes the media personalities who, though morally bankrupt, profit outrageously by promoting the president's propaganda and radicalizing the American right.

I have been reading all evening and took my bath awhile back. At 9:00PM, I will go on to bed.  It is a little after 8:00PM now.

Wednesday and Game Day

I slept well last night...probably because I stayed up later then usual watching the movie. I was up early anyhow at 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed for the day and got myself ready for the day.

I immediately came in and worked on finishing up yesterday's blog. I just made a cup of something with caffeine to wake me up. I haven't even turned on the TV weather and news yet. I will have a busy day today. I will pick up Bob over at Coffeyville for breakfast, then go get gas after I take him back home and get my hair done after that. I will have some time before game day starts at 1:00PM and I may get some lunch before that. I will need to pick up a treat for game day at Country Mart and I need to buy cat food at Dollar General over there too. I won't go out to WalMart there. I got my bananas and other stuff on my list at Independence;'s WalMart  earlier this week.

I will go get my coffee now and see to feeding the cats while I watch the weather and news. I will leave at 6:30AM for Coffeyville.

Close to 6:00AM, I opened the door and Scruffie's kittens were there and the adolescent yellow cat was there waiting for their breakfast . I used the last of the cat food for them. I hope Scruffie is alright and Big Yellow Tom cat too.  They are usually there every morning. Those kittens are really growing. They almost always come for breakfast and share with Scruffie. I see Big Yellow Tom is out there now eating. Still Scruffie is not there.

Of course, she looked very fat (or pregnant) so she may be having a new litter this morning  if she is pregnant.

They are all full and gone now. I will leave the double dish out there just in case she does come later...if the other cats leave any.

So more later...

Scruffie just showed up at 6:10AM and is eating whatever is left of the food. .....Strange she was so much later.

More even later..

I left at 6:30AM to go pick Bob up for breakfast. We had a good visit and a fine breakfast. I them went to get gas at Woodshed and then got my hair done. I dropped by the Family Dollar store and go some more cat food. Then I went to Country Mart and got my treat for the game day. After that I stopped at Dollar General and picked up a few more things since I was right there in the area.

I went by Sonic and got a cherry limeade slush to take to the senior center and then I stayed there and read until time for game day. We played for a couple of hours and I think we finished at 3:30PM. Then I came on back home.

Big Yellow Tom was at the front door wanting some dinner so I fed him.

I checked my e-mail and learned another classmate had died. It was one of Bob's friends so I called him to tell him about it.

I should re-number my classmate's list again and put him on the deceased classmates list for this year.

Maybe I will do that instead of watching TV. .There's nothing good on TV anymore anyhow.

More later...

That's what I did. I went through both my desktop and my laptop and got all the numbers right. At least I think they're right now.

I took my bath and will work awhile on the computers and then go to bed at 9:00PM or so.

Tuesday and Another Boring Day

I slept fairly well last night and got up about 5:00AM.  I have been catching my check book up and have not eaten my breakfast yet. I will go do that now that it's 6:15AM. I have made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day.

I will get back to this after I have my breakfast and coffee. I am even feeding five cats/kittens. Scruffie and her two kittens are out there and Big Yellow Tom and the yellow adolescent cat. I will need to get more cat food today.

I will pick up Bob for breakfast in the morning. That always gives us a chance to catch up. He said the buffet at Cherryvale on Sunday was full of people. I hope they didn't sit too close together.

I have been watching the CBS news and there is lots of repetition.  I get tired of watching them go over and over the same news.

I have watered and deadheaded the flowers in the outdoors pots. I see the hummingbirds are back at the feeder. They have really gone through that hummingbird food I have put in there.

More even later...

This is the Montgomery County count of the virus up to date. I see the county is up to 208 cases now.

I went over to Nancy's about 10:30AM and called her from my car. Then when she didn't answer, I rang the doorbell...twice.  I was just heading back to my car when she came to the door. I took her the book she wanted to read. She wanted me to come in and visit. Gina was there seeing to her lunch but she wanted me to stay too. So I did. Gina and Nancy asked me to stay for lunch so I did. Gina fixed a nice lunch.  After she left, I was going to leave again. but Nancy was as lonely for a visitor and I was too so I stayed all afternoon.

When I finally got home I watched some news and then downloaded an old movie on Amazon Prime Nancy and I had talked about. It was "The Insider". If I recall correctly, it won the Oscar it it's day. It had been years since I had seen it so I stayed up later and watched it again.. It was the story of a scientist who worked for a tobacco company that had exposed that they added chemicals to cigarettes that made nicotine even more addictive. He exposed that to 60 Minutes., the Sunday evening news show.  I really enjoyed the evening. I should have brought Nancy over to see it but she wanted to start reading the book I loaned her so I didn't ask her..

After the movie was over, I took my bath and went to bed.

Monday and Laundry

I slept well last night and got up about 5:00AM and had breakfast after dressing and getting myself ready for the day.

I stripped my bed early and am washing the sheets and underwear. I have it in the dryer now. I put the other brown sheets on my bed.

When I opened the front door this morning I had five hungry cats/kittens waiting for their breakfast. I took out the double dish both blue dishes and a square dish with food for all of them. They have eaten now and are gone.

It is almost 8:00AM and I will watch the CBS morning news at 8:00AM.

By the way, I learned last evening that Amazon will be sending my new book about Trump earlier. I should get it this week after all.

So more later...

I got the laundry folded and put away and watched the CBS news. Now I will go to Independence to get a few groceries I am out of.  I will need them before Wednesday.

I had an e-mail from two of my classmates telling me that two more of my classmates have died. I believe we have lost 147 now. At 84 or 85 I guess that is to be expected. But it's still sad.

More later...

I got my groceries and came back home after stopping at Big Cheese and eating a personal pan pizza and a  root beer.

I dropped by Nancy's to take her that book she wanted to read abut could not raise her. I will try again later.

I took turns reading and playing FreeCell all afternoon. I tried to get Nancy again later in the afternoon but Gina answered the phone and said Nancy was eating her supper and wouldn't let me speak to her. Strange...Gina treats her like a child.  That would drive me insane. Nancy hates it too but won't speak up about it. Consequently, they will get away with it.

Suzanne dropped by last night and took my to Big G's for a flurry. I got  small  one and she got a large one. We also had a good visit. It had been awhile since she is being very careful to protect her family from the virus.

I watched some Forensic Files on Amazon Prime TV and then at 7:00PM I took my bath and at 9:00PM, I went on to bed.

Sunday and Another Boring Day

I slept well last night.I got up shortly after 5:00AM and had my breakfast of oatmeal and coffee and Chai Latte. Then I had a breakfast bar.

I watched TV most of the morning and fed the cats/kittens when they showed up at my front door for their breakfasts. I am almost certain that Scruffy is pregnant again.. She had a pretty large belly.

I called Nancy mid-morning and she was feeling better. I asked her to go to lunch but she said she was not up to that yet.  I told her mid-afternoon I would come over and we could have a visit. She was agreeable to that.

I had a lunch of frozen food and lemonade. Then I ate one of my ice cream bars.

It was time for the virtual church service from Toronto Canada so I logged on and watched it. They always project the words to the hymns so I can at least sing them. After that I played the FreeCell game again.

More later...

At about 2:00PM I went over to Nancy's and I asked her if she would like to go for a long ride since it was such a beautiful day to do that. She was delighted to get out of the house. Since she has no car, that was the only way she could get out of the house and see some scenery. So we took off and drove almost to Howard, Kansas, and were gone four hours. The scenery was lovely...lots of crops and beautiful scenery.

She insisted on giving me money for gas. I really didn't use much since I get real good gas mileage. But she insisted.

I got home in time to see 60 Minutes and feed the cats their supper.

At 7:00PM, I will watch the worship service from Springfield, Missouri.  Then I will take my bath and at 9:00PM, I plan to go to bed.
