Saturday and a Poor Night's Sleep

I had a hard time getting to sleep last night and then had a hard time staying asleep. I have been concerned for my youngest son and his wife. He is out of work and has been looking for several months. They had just moved into their beautiful new home when he lost his job. She has a good job but he needs to find one too. He is retired from the army but still needs a good job. I have been praying for them hoping they can cope with the situation.  There's nothing I can do but stew about it. That doesn't do any of us any good but it still happens. I can only imagine the stress it puts on them.

I don't have anything planned for today. Sometime before the first Wednesday in March I will need to buy the three prizes for Bunco at the senior center. I have some time on that though. We take turns providing those prizes.

I have dressed, had my breakfast and taken my new pill. I just put the cat food out for the three cats out there. They are still eating. When they are finished, I will bring in the bowls. There are both yellow cats out there and the gray mama cat.

More later....

I went over to Nancy's  this afternoon and visited for a couple of hours. It's been a couple of weeks since I have been able to raise her. When I went over this afternoon she was still in her robe. But we visited for a couple of hours. She needs the socialization.

I read most of the day. It has been chilly here! One or two of the cats came for supper. Now gray mama cat is out there eating.

My younger son must have read my blog! He got a job on Friday...a good job! I am so relieved!!!

More later...

I read the rest of the evening and took my bath at 7:00PM as usual and went to bed at 8:30PM

Friday and A Doctor's Appointment

I had a good night's sleep again. I did have to take a Rolaid at bedtime. I have been having some acid reflex for the past month or so.  I got up at 5:00PAM or shortly before it. I have been babying my right arm the past three days and that seems to help.  I even vacuumed with my left arm.

I fed three cats this morning and also myself. I had my oatmeal, coffee and chai and even a banana. Aftert the cats finished, I brought in the bowls and washed them.

At 8:30AM of so. I left for Coffeyville and my doctor's appointment.

When I got to Coffeyville I dropped by the bank and got some more cash. Then I went on to my appointment. His nurse, Lori, saw me first. She took blood pressure and sure enough it was too high. I had been taking 5mgs of blood pressure meds.  That was keeping it too low. Lori suggested he would put me on 2.5MG. Then his student came in and said the same thing.

When Dr. C. came in he agreed with them about the blood pressure med and told me to get a pill spliter and cut the 5mg blood pressure pills I have left in two. Then he told me to stop taking Rolaids and instead get some over the counter med called Omeprozole 20mg. to use instead of Rolaids. He also had me have some blood work done to be sure the stomach problem isn't a bacteria problem.

Then I left for Chanute to have lunch at Opie's with Gay and Adele and their friends. There were ten of us. It was a birthday party for Adele and Coleen.

I got there in plenty of time. I had taken birthday cards for Adele and Coleen. I was glad I did. Everyone else did too.

After we ate, we went to the art museum where they were having  an art exhibit. This one is nearly over. But next year they would like John to bring some of his art for their next February exhibit. I showed them some of his work on my phone and I gave them his name and telephone number. They will call him for their next exhibit.

Then after that, I came on back home. I picked up my mail and checked it out. Then I read the rest of my book.

It's 7:00PM now and I want to take my bath and put my pjs on and then I will go to bed at 9:00PM.

Thursday and Cleaning Day

I slept well last night. For one thing, I have been using my left arm more and doing nothing heavy with my right arm. That helped a bunch.

Three cats came for breakfast this morning. At least two are still out there. There are two gray cats and one yellow one. Gray mama cat is still eating. The other two have finished and are gone. No, Big Yellow Tom is back eating some more.

When he finished, I brought in all the bowls.

I texted Bob and he said it had snowed a little over at Coffeyville. We got none here.

I will clean the apartment later this morning. First I will finish my breakfast before I start and I may watch the news first too. I have all day.

More later....

I watched most of the CBS news before I went out to Dollar General  and bought cat food. When I got home I washed the bare floors and ran the vacuum in all but the den. I will do that later..I will also need to dust.

I have a 9:00AM doctor's appointment with Dr. Christensen tomorrow in Coffeyville so I had better get the rest done today. It depends on the weather whether I go to Chanute to meet Gay and Adele and Coleen. or not tomorrow.

More later....I am going to go read my book now.

I read all afternoon and then half way through the afternoon I realized I had not had lunch. So I went out to Sonic and had a wacky pack..a kid's meal with two chicken strips, a small pack of tater tots and a small drink.

Then, because it was very cold, I came on back home.

It's 4:32PM now and I am watching the news. Later I will watch the CBS news. Sometime before 7:00PM, I feed the cats...whichever ones come for supper...and after that I will take my bath and at 9:00PM or so, I will go on to bed.

Wednesday and Breakfast With Bob

I woke up pretty early this morning. I had gone to bed at 8:00PM last night.  So I had my eight hours sleep when I finally got up. I had my oatmeal and coffee and chai before I called Bob and asked him if he wanted to go to breakfast with me. he did. So I left at 6:30AM and picked him up shortly before 7:00AM and we went to breakfast. After that and a good visit, I took him back to Sycamore Landing so he could get ready for his exercise class.

Then I went out to Woodshed and filled up with gas. After that, I went on to my hair appointment and then out to Walmart to get coffee. Then I went to the library and read some on the book I had checked out at Caney.

Then I went out to church and took back the spatula I used  to cut the coffee cake. had inadvertently walked off with it on Sunday.   While there,I took out my car vac and vacuumed out the car. Then I went on to Asbury Village for Bunco. I won the most Buncos and won a $10.00 gift card to Walmart. I will use that in time.

Then I came back home. I am charging my phone and have already put cat food out for the cats even though they haven't come by for their supper yet.

More later....

The cats finally came and ate their food. I put away their empty or almost empty  dishes.

Then I read all evening and took my bath at 7:00PM and went on to bed at 9:00PM . It had been a big day.

Tuesday and Deliver Cakes

I slept poorly again last night. Finally had to get up and take a couple of Aleve. My right arm hurting was keeping me awake.

I had three cats come for their breakfast this morning...two yellow cats and mama cat were waiting for me to open the door this morning. I got them fed and took  everything but mama cat's double bowl in the apartment. She keeps coming back to eat more.

After I deliver the cakes I will go to their Walmart and buy the few things I need that I can't get here at Dollar General.

I had a kind of scary experience this morning. I went out to my car and took the stuff I had in my trunk out and put it in the garage to make room for the four cakes. When I was finished I looked for the key and could not find it. I brought in the stuff I had taken out of the trunk and went through it all looking for the key. I had to get my second key to get into the trunk but could not find the original key there either.  Then  I remembered I had taken my McCalister's cup in the cardboard cup holder out of the trunk too so I looked in there...and there it was! Thank goodness! I had the key in my hand when I took that cup holder out of the trunk. I must have dropped it in the cup holder then.

I am going to have to buy some new towels. Those I bought in 1981, when we moved into the new house in Coffeyville, are finally wearing out. I have had some good wear out of them. I noticed they were wearing out when I did the laundry.

More later....I need to get ready to leave for Coffeyville. I will go to the bank there before heading out  to church to pick up the cakes. I notice Keith and Esther's deposit has not made the bank yet. I will check it again when I get home from Independence.

The delay is probably because of President's Day yesterday.

More later...

I got  over to Coffeyville and to the bank first. I needed to get some money. Then I went back to Dearing and three miles north to the church, loaded the four cakes into my trunk and went up to the First Christian Church to deliver the cakes. Barbara and the pastor there were very glad to see me again.  It had been well over  a year since it was me delivering the cakes.

Then I went to the post office and bought stamps, and out to Walmart there to buy some groceries. Then I came on back home. When I got back home, I went to the library and got three more books to read if the weather turns nasty next weekend as it is forecast.

I have been reading my Robin Meyers book, "The Underground Church" , a history of the early Christian Church and a picture of what is actually happening in today's Christian Communities. It is well written and very interesting. One of his first books was "Saving Jesus from the Church". I also have the video of that one. My "Living the Questions" group studied that one when we were meeting before I moved to Caney last year

More later.....

I read until 8:00PM but was so sleepy I couldn't stay awake so since I had taken my bath at 7:00PM and was ready to go to bed, I did.

Monday and a Hurting Arm

I got up this morning about 5:30AM or so and dressed and had my breakfast.  I texted Bob after 6:00AM.

Threc cats showed up for their breakfast this morning . I fed two yellow cats and I gray mama cat. Later after one of the yellow cats left, another gray cat showed up too. Then I brought the bowls in and washed them.

I watched the Tulsa news for awhile today and then the CBS news but I was busy reading my book so I didn't absorb a lot of it.

My arm finally stopped aching after I had been up awhile. The problem may have been that I was lying down and the arm could not get comfortable. Anyhow, two Aleve tablets didn't help a bit last night. They usually do but not this time.

I have nothing planned for today since it is President's Day so I guess I will read my last book.

More later...

I spent some time working on the sermon I am to give March 1st. I think it's pretty much finished now.

Then I read all afternoon after eating the rest of the Japanese food I brought home from the Valentine dinner on Saturday.  I finished the last of the three books I had checked out. It's 4:45PM now and in a little bit I will watch the news.

More later....

Bob called me to say he was not feeling well and asked if I could pick up the cakes at church and take them to the First Christian Church at Independence this morning. Of course, I was glad to help. He had them all together at our church so that will be fairly easy to do. I will leave at 8:00AM in the morning and go over to our church to pick them up and take them to Independence.

Sunday and Coffee cake

I slept well last night. I woke up at 5:00AM and got up soon after that. I have dressed and had my breakfast and baked my coffeecake. It is cooling now.  I will ice it next.

I will take it and my cake for Tuesday to church this morning and put the cake in the freezer there. Bob will pick it up Tuesday when he takes the other cakes to Independence  for the dinner the First Christian church serves there on Tuesdays.

I had only two cats show up for breakfast this morning. One was Gray Mama cat the other one her yellow half grown kitten. It ate all it's food and left. Mama cat ate most of hers. But she's gone too. I will bring in the dishes when I finish here.

I need to ice the coffeecake now so I will get back to this after I get home from church.

More later....

I got the coffeecake iced and everything loaded into my car and started for church at 8:30AM. When I got there and got everything in the church, I got everything ready for church school class.

After class, We had the worship service, which was very good. Karan did a good job.

After church Phyllis and I went to "Just Us" for lunch and met Rick and Carmen there. Then after we ate and visited, I took Phyllis back to church and her car.  Then I came on back home.

I spent the afternoon getting Bob's med list copied for Keith and Esther. They are going to look on GoodRx for the best prices for him to get the meds he takes. After I finished that, I did the congregational newsletter. I did it on the notebook and could not get that copy of Word formatted correwctly.

I finally came into the den and used the laptop to do it over....so everyone on my list will get two copies of it...only one formatted correctly.

I watched 60 Minutes with one eye and read my book with the other. I stayed up until 11:00PM reading and when I finally went to bed, I slept fitfully off and on all night. My right arm hurt terribly. I took two Aleve but that didn't help a bit. I finally got up about 5:30AM or so.
