Saturday and Craft Shows

I slept well last night and was up shortly before 6:00AM. I had my oatmeal and coffee and then fed the cats before having my Chai. Three of them came for their breakfast.

This morning at 9:00AM, I will meet Leslie in Independence for the three Christmas Craft shows. We are taking separate cars because she is on call this weekend and may be called in.  Karan and Debra were supposed to go too but late last evening, Karan texted me that Debra had chest pains and she had to take her to the emergency room. Last Spring Debra had had stints put in and she will need supervision today. They released her to go back to Karan's home. So Karan and Debra had to drop out of our meeting this morning.

I will get back to this later...

I watched the CBS news and some more of the cats came for breakfast. It's a little after 8:00AM now and at 8:30AM I will leave for Independence to meet Leslie. We will hit the three crafts shows if she doesn't get called out.

So more later in the day....

Just before I left at  8:30AM, John texted me that Leslie had been called out. That left me to go alone. I did that but was only gone from 8:30AM until 10:00AM when I got back home.

At 10:00AM I watched "Lucky Dog" and after that I ate some of Suzanne's chicken and noodles for my lunch.

After the mail comes, I will go up to Joyce's and get a sundae for dessert.

So more later...

I did get a sundae at Joyce's  and then I went out to Dollar General  and bought a wreath hanger for Debra.

Then I came home and made up the fruit salad for tomorrow's dinner at church.

I have watched a Dateline program I had recorded and am now watching the news. It is shortly after 5:00PM.

I see a couple of the cats are out there eating their dinner. I will need to put out some more for the yellow kitten.

More later...

I watched "Bull" and then an episode of "Murder She Wrote" before I took my bath at 7:00PM and went on to bed  at 9:00PM.

Friday and More Cleaning

I slept very well last night and got up close to 6:00AM. I dressed, had my oatmeal and coffee and chia and fed the cats...only two came this morning. One was a little gray one and one was the young yellow one. I don't miss the pest that has gone to the farm.

I will clean this morning since I never got it done yesterday. Then after lunch I will take all my stuff over to Coffeyville to Karan's garage for Debra's new apartment. I also have those groceries for her. Nancy gave those to her.

I had better get the apartment cleaned before I lose the mood. More later...

I got my apartment cleaned just fine. Then I made an appointment with Tate Boys Tire and Service in Bartlesville and had my tires rotated and balanced. Then I came back home, loaded up the Christmas tree and decorations for it and took  them over the Karan's so she could store them in her garage until Debra gets into her new apartment.

Then I went up to Independence to their Walmart store. I stopped at Big Cheese and had a personal pan pizza for lunch and then went out to Walmart and got what I needed. I was going to get another cookie mix but they were out of what I wanted. I got the other two things I was needing anyhow and then came on back home.

I got my mail and also climbed up the garage ladder into the attic and put the empty boxes from my Christmas decorations up there.  The garage looks a lot better now.

I had intended to refill my prescription for the cream I use after my surgery but the Dr. at Kansas City Med Center wanted me to come back up for another exam before she would renew my prescription. I can't drive in Kansas City anymore so the compounding pharmacy suggested I call my regular doctor over to Coffeyville and have him reorder it for me. I talked to his nurse. He was out of the office today but she said she would give him the message Monday when he is back in the office. I called the pharmacy back and told them that. They suggested I call back on Wednesday and to be sure he did that. It costs me $65 a month for that prescription but if I had to get it at a local pharmacy, it would be $300. That's why the doctor who did my surgery uses that compounding pharmacy at Lenexa for those of us without the medicare drug plan.

It's 4:30PM now and I guess I will go watch the news.

More later...

I watched the news and later an episode of "Murder She Wrote" At 7:00PM, I took my bath and then went to bed at 9:00PM

Thursday and Cleaning Day

I slept well until 4:00AM or so and couldn't seem to get back to sleep so I just got up.

I made my bed, dressed and did my makeup and then had my oatmeal, coffee and chai. Again, when I fed the cat and kittens I looked out there and that cat was out there eating the food of the ones I feed. Once again I chased it off.  But I knew it would be back so once again, I brought in the food. I am not feeding someone else's pet cat.

I will clean the apartment today. It is Thursday and that is my regular cleaning day. I want to get my Christmas tree down out of the attic today and the decorations that go on it. I am going to give it to Debra. I have no place for it and she will have an apartment at Sycamore Landing so she may as well have that. It will get it out of the attic here too.

More later...

I didn't get the apartment cleaned yet but I did climb up in the attic and get the Christmas tree down and the decorations for it. I am glad Debra can use it in her new apartment. I have no place for it in this one.

I also got two more Christmas cards in the mail from classmates with news of their lives in them. I called John Wade and we have almost $300. in the classmate account.  I will have this letter printed off at Four County Mental Health in Independence like I did last year. Leslie suggested I also have them print off the envelopes this year. We appear to have plenty of money for that. I will buy the envelopes.

I think I will go back over to Coffeyville tomorrow afternoon and take these groceries over to the church or give them to Debra if she can use them. If she can't use them, Leeann can distribute them to the old people she knows who are living hand to mouth.

That cat that appears to be someone's pet has been snooping around here again looking for the cat food. I took the food in and will keep it in the house until the ferrel cat and her kittens come looking for it this evening.

More later...

My neighbor took that cat to his folks' farm. He thinks it's a stray. It keeps trying to get into their apartment. That got rid of it. It will keep their barn free of mice.  I won't have to fight it off my cat food.

I fixed the strawberries and  had a small bowl of them.

Then I watched an episode of "Murder She Wrote" and took my bath at 7:00PM and went to bed at 9:00PM

Wednesday and Bunco Day

I slept well last night and was up before 6:00AM. I had some coffee and some Chai  too. I even had a little bit of oatmeal.  Then I texted Bob to see if he was up and wanted to go to breakfast. He did so I told him I would pick him up at 7:15AM.  I got there a little early but he saw me drive in the drive so he came on out.

We went to Eggberts there in Coffeyville and ordered the breakfast speciaL This time he insisted on paying for breakfast. We had a nice visit and after I took him home I went out to Woodshed and bought gas. Then I came on back to town and went to the bank to cash a check. After that. I went to the beauty shop. Toni was not ready for me this time so I read from awhile while she changed her clothes. She had been working out.

I got my hair done and then went out to Walmart for a few things. Later I went to Dollar General for cat food. Then I went out to church and took some photos of our Christmas decorations. My phone doesn't take the best photos but I will post some of them anyhow.

This is the communion table with the advent wreath and candles on it.

There were two of these stands decorated with Christmas lights and candles. One was by the piano/organ and the other by the computer we use to play the hymns when Phyllis is gone to Overland Park to visit her daughter and her family..

Karan made these wreathes to use on the north and south walls of the sanctuary.

No photo description available.

Karan sent me this photo that she took when I was in the pulpit on Sunday. It shows off those decorations better that I have been posting.

I went back to town and went by Karan's to take some things to Debra for her apartment.  She is going to move into Sycamore Landing. That's where Bob lives and also where Joanne's youngest daughter lives. They each like it there very much.

I stopped by Sonic and got a little something to hold me over until evening. After that, I went to the senior center and we played Bunco all afternoon. Debra came with Karan and she taught her the game. I won the most wins. It was a lovely throw I can put over my legs when I watch TV in the evening. Debra won the most Buncos. That was good for her as a newcomer.

I came on back home after that. I read my mail and sent off a thank you note to one of my classmates who sent me a check to help with the class of 1953 2020 newsletter .

I will use it to help pay for the stamps.

Right now I want to catch the news. More later....

I had fed my stray kitties and cats and then another full grown cat came and chased them off and tried to eat their food. Several times I ran it off. It's obviously well fed and someone's cat so I am not letting it eat the food of the cats and kittens I feed. Finally after I figured they had all had all the food they needed, I brought in the cat food dishes.

I watched TV for awhile but there was nothing on I was interested in watching. I started to watch an episode of "Murder She Wrote" but just couldn't get into it.

I just couldn't make it past 8:00PM and took my bath and went on to bed.

Tuesday and Another Probable Lunch Out

I slept well last night for a change. I stayed in bed until about 5:30AM but then got up and dressed, ate my oatmeal and had my coffee and chai and then fed the cats. It is 32 degrees out there this morning so they did not hang around long. They just ate and then ran off  somewhere for shelter and warmth.

I have watched the news and weather and read all the birthday greetings on this blog. I will call Nancy later on this morning to see if she is up to lunch. About 2/3 of the time she is sick..either with diarrhea or vomiting. I think she drinks way too much coffee but I don't know what all could be wrong to make her sick so much of the time.

I have plenty of food here. Suzanne brought me a large bowl of chicken and noodles and a dessert too. I still have the rest of my sweet and sour chicken too from Sunday at Great China. After we ate our beans and cornbread yesterday she also bought me a piece of cherry pie and that is also in the frig. And I still have some fruit salad from Thanksgiving. So I have plenty to eat.

I just texted Leslie and she is better although she now has a nose bleed. She probably blew too much yesterday. She has a terrible cold.

It's almost 8:00AM now and I still haven't watched that episode of "Bull" that I recorded last night. I will do that now.More later....

I watched the "Bull" show and it was another good one.

Then afterward, I called Nancy and she and I are going to lunch today. I will pick her up at 11:00AM. That's 45 minutes from now.

The trash people came a little bit ago and I just put away the trash container. The sun is shining and it may be a warmer day without all that wind we have had lately.

Leslie texted me a while ago to tell me my six year old great grandchild, Cheyenne, has a school program tonight and I want to attend. Leslie says she will pick me up at 6:30PM.

She came and got me early  and while were waiting for the program to start, she sent a photo she had taken Saturday of the christmas tree in the foyer at church.

This is how it looked when Melissa and I finished decorating it.

I also took a photo of the first and second grade group that performed their Christmas music
this evening.

The little girl in the front row third from the left with a cast on her leg, is Cheyenne, my youngest great grandchild of my eldest grandson.  She is a second grader.

When we got back home and Leslie let me out, I fed the cats and the kittens and took my bath.  I watched some TV until 9:00PM when I went on to bed.

Monday and My Birthday

This is my 84th birthday and considering that,  I am in pretty good shape.

I slept poorly last night and got up even earlier then usual. I ate my oatmeal and had my coffee and then discovered a couple of cats and a kitten waiting for cat food. I fed them and worked on the blog after breakfast. I had not blogged for a couple of days.

Suzanne is taking me to lunch today over at Copan. Leslie contacted me last night to see if I had any plan for my birthday. A couple of days ago, Suzanne asked me the same question and I did not have a plan at that time so she asked me if she could take me to lunch for my birthday. I thought that was really nice of her and said yes. So I told Leslie about it and asked her if she wanted to join us.  She will do that.

As it turned out, Leslie called me this morning to tell me she had a terrible cold (I could sure tell that by her voice)  and had probably better stay away from Suzanne and me. So it turned out that only Suzanne and I went to lunch. We had a great lunch and she bought me a piece of pie too. Then we went in to Bartlesville so she could buy groceries.

I went to the post office to buy stamps and Scott called to wish me a Happy Birthday.  My kids are so good about staying in touch.

John made me one of his oil paintings of a rooster for my birthday and Leslie gave me some really cute Christmas decorations and they gave me a neat card.  I hung the painting in my dining room. That adjoins the kitchen where I have my chicken collection. I set the Christmas decorations out for additional decoration. They are very cute.

This is the picture John painted for me. He is very talented.

 No photo description available.

I stripped my bed and remade it and did the laundry this morning too.

More later...right now I am watching the news.

Suzanne came at 11:30AM and we went down to Copan to the restaurant there and had beans and cornbread for lunch. Suzanne bought me a piece of pie and I took it out in a box for later.

Then we went into Bartlesville to see her sister., Judy, and also to go to Walmart so Suzanne could buy  groceries. She buys most of her  groceries there at the Bartlesville Walmart. They have a great selection.

My older son, Keith, just called to wish me a Happy Birthday.

It is 3:30PM now and I will work on this blog and not eat anything else for awhile.  I am still very full.

More later...

I took my leaf vacuum out and vacuumed up that pile of leaves piled up next to my garage door..

Then I watched TV and played solitaire until 9:00PM but then I was just exhausted and went on to bed. I recorded "Bull" and will watch it tomorrow morning.

Sunday and a Sermon

I got up early again, well before 6:00AM and dressed and had my breakfast and fed the cats and the kittens.

I also made my coffeecake for the church school class. I got over to church early because I needed to prepare the wine and bread for the sacrament service.

The sermon went all right. I wasn't particularly impressed with the theme. since I personally don't believe in a "second coming" of Jesus.  I had a difficult time with that theme. I do believe there may be an "end time" because we live in such a dangerous and violent time. And I know all of us will have our own personal "end time". But the overall theme was still difficult for me.

After church Phyllis and Karan and I went to Great China for lunch. Johnna and Kim joined us. We had a good lunch and all of us took enough home in a box to have another meal.

I worked some on the classmates newsletter since I received some more classmate news. I now have two full pages finished. I have a long way to go however. before I finish.

I read that afternoon and later that evening watched TV until 7:00PM  when I took my bath and then watched some recorded TV until 9:00PM when I went on to bed. There is very little on cable that I care anything about. I will watch "Bull" tomorrow evening.

Saturday and Christmas Decorating

I woke up early but really ready for the day. I knew there would be four or five of us decorating the church for Christmas today.

I dressed and had my breakfast and fed that cats and the kittens and then at 8:30AM, I went over to church to meet the others and do some of the decorating.

Melissa and I worked on the Christmas tree while Leslie and Karan worked on the sanctuary. Debra cleaned as soon as we finished the mess. I should have taken some photos but I didn't.  Maybe one of the others did. I will check.

For now...more later...

No, I didn't find any photos. I will take some on Wednesday when I go over there for my hair appointment and bunco. I will need to make cookies again on Tuesday for bunco.

I got home after Karan and Debra and I had a chicken sandwich at Braums. I was very tired.

I watched some Ohio State football after I got home. Ohio State,  Ginger's school team, won. After the game, I watched some programs I had recorded. One of them is "Lucky Dog" from Saturday morning. Then later, I watched an episode of "Murder She Wrote" took my bath and then went on to bed at 9:00PM
