Saturday and Lunch at Gabbie's

I slept a little better last night. and was only up once to take my two meds. I got up close to 5:00AM. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I opened the front door both Blondie's were out there waiting for their breakfast. I took the double bowl out and the two others. By then the grey cat was out there too. Later the white one came and I fed it too.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's".

Saturday (today) is to be 68 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 60 degrees and showers, Monday is to be 54 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Tuesday is to be 51 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Wednesday is to be 54 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 56 degrees and sunny, and Friday is to be 54 degrees and mostly cloudy.  That's the weather forecast for the week..It looks like a possible one or two days of showers, Let's hope so.

I called Sally and we went to lunch at Roger and Joyce's...That's Gabby's.We had some very good ground beef sandwiches. They will be closed next Saturday so we will have to do something different for lunch then. 

I took my bath early and read the rest of the evening until time for me to go to bed. Besides...I finished the book. I will drop it off tomorrow at the Caney book drop.

I will fix more coffeecake tomorrow for the breakfast at church at 10:00AM. 

I took melatonin last night and slept fairly well. Tonight I will take one of my sleeping pills. Those really work. They are temazepam. I only have four left though.

 

Friday and Laundry

 I slept well last night but I took a sleeping pill so I would. I have had way too many sleepless or poor sleep nights. 

I was up at 5:AM as usual.and fed the cats..at least three of them, Both Blondies and the grey one. I haven't seen the black or the pure white one yet. But it's just a matter of time. They all get here. I am completely out of cat food to I will have to go to Dollar General for that or the others will go hungry.

Today is to be 66 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun. Tomorrow is to be 68 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 57 degrees and showers, Monday is to be 61 degrees and showers,  Tuesday is to be 52 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Wednesday is to be 52 degrees and sunny and Thursday is to be 52 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week ....a couple of days of showers and do we need them!

All four cats finally came for their breakfast.

I got a check register at the bank downtown. I will catch up my checking  account register now.

I got that blood pressure monitor sent off to Georgia As soon as the receive it, they will send me a new one. All I will be out is the postage and $11.00.

Later I went over to Coffeyville to get gas and also get my car washed there on 8th street. It looks a lot better now. It cost $4.00 for the wash and $2.00 for the dryer and vacuum. Now I need to clean the front carpet in that car.

It's 62 degrees now and 3:11 PM. I just came back from Eggbert's where I had a very good chicken fried steak sandwich with french fries and sweet tea. That's the first thing I have had to eat since 6:00AM. It was very good!

More Even Later...

I did get out the auto carpet cleaner but couldn't find the brush to work it in with.  I did the best I could under the circumstances. with a dry rough brush. I hope it looks better when it's completely dry. I may have to buy another brush. I used to do my carpets every fall and Bob Avery's too. That kept them like new for a long time.

I took my bath at 7:15PM but I didn't seem to have much hot water. In fact, when I did my laundry I had no water at all. I checked the breaker box and there was no power to the washer at all. I threw the breaker for the washer and came in and tried the water again. This time it filled. But when I took my bath awhile ago,  I had very little warm water. That breaker may have been off for a long time. I did have some Chai Latte this morning and it was hot but I didn't do my laundry until late afternoon.  

I spent the evening doing Christmas decorations for the apartment. I still have the decorations for the tops of the bookcases but I won't try to do those until later. Hopefully earlier in the day I will be more stable on my feet. 

It's 46 degrees now at 7:35PM. I will read awhile before I take my melatonin and go to bed about 10:00PM.

Thursday and Decorating for Christmas

I slept poorly again last  night. I was awake several times during the night. I took my two meds one of those times. I finally just gave up and got up, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I began my Christmas decorating yesterday afternoon..I am a long way from finished.

Finally I opened the front door to find 'small' Blondie waiting for his/her breakfast. I still haven't determined the sex of that small one. I took four bowls out for the five cats I am feeding nowadays and one bowl of water for them all. There's Blondie, small Blondie, the grey cat, the black cat and the snow white cat. That's a bunch! 

The large older Blondie is out there now too.

I also caught "the  weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 65 degrees and mostly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 64 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be  66 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 59 degrees and rain, Monday is to be 56 degrees and  showers, Tuesday is to be 49 degrees and partly cloudy and Wednesday is to be 54 degrees and sunny. They keep forecasting rain but I don't see much of it....maybe this week!

I took my walk about 7:35AM and picked up quite a bot of trash along the way and put the sack in my trash container when I got back home. 

In a little while I will take my blood pressure cuff up to the Caney Drug and see if they can figure out what the problem is. I changed out the batteries but I am not sure if I have the correct size. The ones that were in there were AAs and I had double AAs and they were not expired...in fact they had not even been taken out of the original  box. I had to open the box to try them. But they did not work. They must be some kind of special kind of double AA's..

More Even Later... 

I bought some new AA batteries for the  blood pressure device and it worked but was well off the range of health. It needed to be recalculated.I drove over to Coffeyville's Walmart where I bought the cuff and went to the pharmacy department of Wal Mart to see if one of the pharmacists could recalculate the device. Neither of them knew how. One of them did get me a phone number for the device.  Then I decided to call Stephen and see if he could call that number and see if they could instruct him in how to recalculate the device.  He had me meet him at the Coffeyville hospital emergency department, where he is the manager of the emergency room. I drove into the emergency room parking lot and he came out to get the device.

I hope he can get that done or I will have to buy a new blood pressure device.

I am going to read awhile and do some more Christmas decorating at a later time.

I heard from the company that investigated my blood pressure cuff problem and they are replacing it as soon as they receive it back in the mail. It will cost me $11.00 and the postage to send it to Georgia.

What a great deal! Stephen, my landlord helped me this afternoon.  I had taken the blood pressure cuff to him to check out with that company and he did everything he could and it helped a lot! It will be fully warranted.

It's 5:37PM so I will go watch the CBS news now.

 

Wednesday and Bunco at the Senior Center

I slept very poorly last night. I was awake at 1:15AM and really never got back to sleep from then on. I finally got up at 3:30AM. I had just been tossing and turning anyhow. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. It's 4:12AM now.

My grandson, Jeromy, came about 3:30PM last evening and got my Christmas decorations out of the attic for me. Friday I will decorate. He had the lower lights lit on my 4 foot Christmas tree. I was going to buy a string of them at Wal Mart to plug into the top half of the tree. But when I got up in the night to take my meds, I noticed they were out too. So I will see about getting a string of lights for the entire tree.

They told me at the store that the box had never been opened. That obviously was not true. I bought it at Shabby to Chic on 8th street in Coffeyville. I should take it back.

I didn't catch Blondie at 5:25AM but I did catch "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 73 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 70 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 62 degrees and  partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 64 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 58 degrees and showers, Monday is to be 55 degrees and showers, and Tuesday is to be 52 degrees and partly cloudy. 

That's the week! I sure hope we get those showers Sunday and Monday.

Tuesday and Cookies

 I found Blondie outside the front door looking for his breakfast and I took it to him. He ate and left and the little black and white cat came to eat next. Now the little yellow cat that looks like a small edition of Blondie is eating.

I did finally catch "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 71 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be  73 degrees and sunny. Thursday is to be 69 degrees and  sunny, Friday is to be 62 degrees and partly cloudy. Saturday is to be 67 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 60 degrees and showers, and Monday is to be 56 degrees and showers. I sure hope we get those two days of showers!

The little grey cat came and ate his/her breakfast. I am not sure about the sex of that one.

I am going to take my walk now. It is 7:28AM.  I will be back a little later. I will be taking cookies up to the First Christian Church in Independence about 9:00AM this morning...for their dinner tonight for people needing something to eat...or even just fellowship!

I took my walk and got back about 8:10AM.  I got some trash but not a lot! It's 8:15AM now and I just fed the little yellow cat that looks a lot like Blondie.. again. The black one hasn't been by yet and neither has the white one...unless they came while I was taking my walk.

I went up to Independence, Kansas and bought the cookies for the First Christian Church for their dinner tonight.

A classmate of mine, Jeannie  Bartle, called me today and we chatted quite awhile. It was very interesting to hear from her. She is going to send me a letter she has that Dean sent to her years ago. She says he had (and still has) a great sense of humor. 

More Even Later ...

I called Sally and asked her if she wanted to go to the Copan Restaurant for lunch. She did.  I picked her up at 11:45AM and we had a cup of their delicious beef /vegetable soup. Then we split a piece of German Chocolate pie. It was all very good. 

Then I took her home and went home myself.  

I watched the news and then read until time for my bath at 6:15PM. I will go back to my book until my bedtime at 10:00PM.

Monday and an Oil Change

 Friday the gauge on my car dash indicated it was time to change my oil and oil filter. But everything was closed for the holiday. So I drove it on to church anyhow. Then I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get the oil changed today because of the huge amount of vehicles in the Mainstreet parking lot. When they open at 8:00AM, I will go up there and see if they can work it in. If not, I may have to go to Bartlesville to get it done.

I did get Blondie fed and the small yellow cat that is colored like Blondie and the black and white one too.

Today is to be 72 degrees and sunny, Tomorrow is to be 70 degrees and  sunny, Wednesday is to be 72 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 70 degrees and mostly cloudy and Friday is to be 67 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to  be 60 degrees and mostly sunny and Sunday is to be 65 degrees and showers,  one day of rain is better that none at all. I hope we get it.

I was able to get Sherry at Main Street to schedule my oil change.  I didn't have to go to Bartlesville to get it done. It's taking awhile though. I was hoping they could get right on it.

When the library opens at noon I will stop there and check out a couple more books. I finished the one I got from Coffeyville's library and dropped it in their book drop. When I get my car back I will go to the market and also Dollar General. I need a few groceries too, I got those at Coffeyville's Walmart. I went out to the Woodshed first and filled up my gas tank. Gas w s $2.99 a gallon there.

I went to the Coffeyville library and took back the book I had from there.

I went to the Caney library when I got home and checked out two more books to read from  there.

I also stopped by the Mainstreet Garage and learned the mechanic  had not set the speedometer for "miles per hour". He set it on "kilometers". I think that's what he called it. It made the car drive slower although the speedometer said it was 20 miles an hour faster. Everything on the road had passed me. The mechanic had some sort of meter on his phone that detected what was wrong. He set it correctly and that took care of the problem..

I took my bath at almost 7:00PM. I will take some Melatonin this evening in hopes of sleeping better tonight.

But first I will go back to the book I started after I checked it out at the Caney library.  I plan to go to bed closer to 10:00PM or 11:00PM.

Sunday and Breakfast at Church

I slept much better last night,,,but of course, I took a sleeping pill. That helped  a lot! I can't do that often though or I will get hooked on them.

When I opened the front door this morning, Blondie was waiting for his breakfast. I took it out to him and he ate until he was full and left. The small yellow cat that looks like him then came and ate. The others will probably be here shortly. 

I have the coffeecake in the oven and when the timer goes off I will set it out on the wire tray to cool before I put the glaze on it.

No rain in the forecast and we didn't get that that was forecast for yesterday morning either.

 I watched the Michigan/ Ohio State football game last night, It was 3 to 38 and Ohio State won. It was a very good game..though very lop sided. They are # 3 in the nation now and have two more games to go.. They play Minnesota next Saturday, November 18th and Michigan on November 5th. Those will be tough games,

More Later... The Minnesota game channel is to be determined but the Michigan game November 25th will be on the Fox channel at noon. They are all Saturday evening games.

Phyllis and I ate lunch at Eggbert's in Coffeyville. We had a good visit too.

When I got home I took a damp paper towel and wiped off the left back up light. Sure enough, that was the paint from the garage door and it all came clean.

I will go to Tate Boys in Bartlesville tomorrow and get my oil and filter changed. There is an icon on the dash that tells me it's time.

I finished my last book, I  will take it back to the Coffeyville library on Wednesday. Tomorrow some time I will go back to the Caney library and get a couple of more books checked out.

I watched the Mission Center Zoom program this evening. I also sent out 6 bulletins and letters to those not at church today.

I recorded 60 Minutes and will watch it later...

I took my bath at 7:00PM and got myself ready for bed. I will stay up until 8:00PM or 8:30PM..maybe later...
