Saturday and More Reading

I got a good night's sleep last night but was still up a little after 4:00AM.  I dressed, had my breakfast and coffee and Chai and even a breakfast bar. At 6:30AM, I texted Bob to see if he was alright...and he was. He had just slept in a while longer. It was nearly 6:30AM when he finally texted me. He was on his way to the shower then.

I fed four cats their breakfast and gave them some fresh water. Scruffie was also out there this morning.  Then after they had eaten, I took their dishes in.

I downloaded some more books from Amazon. I can have ten and if I download another, they take one of the ones I have already read back. Modern technology is wonderful! It was cold today so mostly I stayed in and read.

I ate the rest of Suzanne's soup for my lunch. It was very good. I texted her my appreciation of it. She said  she had more soups in her freezer and she would dig some more out for me. Suzanne is so good to me! She also brought me some more papers. I gave her the Reporters she had loaned to me to give to Judy. I had some nice crackers and some more cheddar cheese so I fixed that and some fruit punch to go with her soup. I also ate some grapes. Then I had an ice cream bar for dessert.

Janet, manager of our senior center in Coffeyville, called me this afternnoon and asked me if I wanted her to put me on her vaccine list. The Coffeyville health department asked her to make a list of seniors who would take an appointment for the vaccine. I had her put me on her list. I told her I was 85 and definitely eligible.

Then the rest of the day, except for a trip to the post office outside box, where I dropped in some mail to go out, I just read in my new books.

I heard from Gay today. Stan and Adele (her sister) are selling their cute little house in town and moving out with her. She has that nice large double wide and 40 acres for the horses and has tried to mainly take care of all that by herself since Tony died. Stan and Adele help some with the horses. After they get moved in and after their  furniture auction, she wants me to come visit. We will see what the pandemic is doing by that time.

After I left the post office I drove by Nancy's and tried calling while parked in front of her house. Then I got out and rand the doorbell. I never could raise her though. So I went out to Dollar General and got some bandaids and some more popcorn.  Then I came back home and finished the book I had been reading and then watched some of my recorded programs on TV.

I had asked John when it would be convenient for me to come see their new litter of puppies and he suggested Sunday morning. I told him that would work fine for me. Leslie texted me this evening and suggested I come at 10:00AM tomorrow and watch the 11:00AM worship service with her online and then stay for lunch and the Chief's football game in the afternoon. I was delighted!

She is making her meatballs and veggies and salad. I offered to bring one of Jay's Amish pies. I called Jay to make sure he would be open on Sunday and to see if he had any pies. He told me he planned to be open by at least 11:00AM and had two cherry pies, two apple pies, two cream pies and two pecan pies. I thought I might take pecan pie again. For Christmas I took cherry pie. For Thanksgiving I took pecan pie.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and will read until 9:00PM when I plan to go on to bed.

Friday and More Books

I slept well last night and got up about 5:00AM, got myself ready for the day and had my breakfast. I watched the "weather on the 8's" and fed four cats. Even Scruffie came for breakfast. After that, I watched the channel 6 news out of Tulsa. I am really not interested in Oklahoma news..especially not Tulsa...with all it's crime.  But here in southeast Kansas, we have no access to Kansas TV news and  unless we read the newspapers  or listen to the radio, we just don't get any local news. It's too bad. We used to get Pittsburg, Kansas TV but they dropped that at Cox years ago. I caught the CBS morning news when that was over.

Enough griping.  I read all morning  and when the mail came, I read the trash mail and threw it away.

Janet, from the senior center, called me and told me the Montgomery County Health department had asked her to contact the folks who come to the senior center and make a list of those who want the vaccine. She put me on the list.  They are to contact me for an appointment when they go over her list.

At noon for lunch I are some of Suzanne's great soup with crackers and cheese and fruit punch.

In the early afternoon, I  read again and then I finally got a hold of Nancy and she wanted me to come by and visit so I did. I stayed until almost 1:00PM and then came back home just in case the Cox tech came. He called me when he was at Dearing and I told him with the help of the telephone tech I had managed to get my TV back and tried to cancel his visit but could not remember my Cox password. We talked and I told him what the other tech on the phone had me try and it finally worked.  He said we had done just what he would have had me do and since that worked he would just cancel my service call. That was fine with me.

I downloaded a few new Amazon free books for my Kindle and went back to reading again. I had a banana for supper and some grapes and had my bath at 7:00PM and went on to bed about 9:30PM. I had finished another book.

Thursday and House Cleaning Day

I have been watching TV again. I talked to Cox this morning and reached a tech that seemed to know what he was doing. He walked me through unplugging the Cox box and also the Tivo from the wall.It took awhile for the Tivo to load again but when it did, the TV came back on too.

I had been watching CBS news online with my computer. It was beter then nothing at all but not as good as regular TV/

I was up very early  again...before 4:00AM. I got myself ready for the day, ate my breakfast and a breakfast bar and had coffee and a Chai. I fed four cats and the onle one not there was Scruffie.

I am going to try to save this  in Dashboard...a part of the Bloggerspot that belongs to my son, Keith. And then this evening I will copy it and paste it into my original blog, "Margie's Musings".

After the commercials came on the TV, I mopped the bare floors and vacuumed the carpets. I have a load of laundry in the washer and I think it's ready to go into the dryer now.

So more later..

I finally found the draft in Dashboard and will continue with the blog there.I made the blog and then saved it to "draft" and then had to drop down the menu to find Dashboard and finish it so I could save it in Bloggerspot and copy and past it into my "Margie's Musings blog

Scruffie showed up for supper and since she got no breakfast, I put the bowls back out there so she and the others could eat.

I had some popcorn for supper and watched the CBS news on TV and  will take my bath at 7:00PM and plan to go to bed at 9:00PM.

Wednesday and Hairdo Day

I slept terribly last night. I went to bed at 8:30PM...my first mistake. I woke up at 10:00PM, again at 2:20AM and once again at 3:30AM,  Then I just got up, put my contact in, and dressed and came into the den to watch the CBS news on my computer. I still have no TV. The tech wil be here Friday between 1:00PM and 3:00PM. I ate some cereal to tide me over until I picked up Bob at Coffeyville and then we ate out at Eggbert's and had a really good breakfast. Obviously, I didn't need any lunch.

I took him home after breakfast and went out to the there Woodshed and bought gas and then went on to Toni's to get my hair done. After that I took the papers for the shelter to Karan's and put them on her doorpost as usual. Then I went on to Dr. Dobbins office and picked up the prescription for my glasses. I picked out some frames at the Optic Shop. I decided I needed some glasses after all. That was $220. But I have been wearing my one contact way too many hours.

After that I washed my car, dried it, and vacuumed it out. Then I came on back home. I listened to NPR on the car radio all the way home. When I got home again, I watched the news on Computer and caught the speeches. Then I went back to my book. I read until I finished that one at at 5:00PM and then ate a banana to tide me over until morning.

Last of all,  I fed Inky and Blondie. None of the other cats came. I didn't feed them this morning because I needed to leave early to go to Coffeyville to eat breakfast with Bob and get my hair done.

It's been a busy day. It's 5:53PM now and I might try to watch some more CBS news on the desktop computer.

At 7:00PM, I will take my bath and plan to go to bed at 9:00PM or so.

Change of Procedure

It appears since I am locked out of the blog I had for years, that google, the new administrator has done the locking out. So from now on I will have to post a new post at the end of the day so I can finish the day's blog. I have had lots of problems today. First I could not get into my own bank account, then the TV signal went out and I had to agree to an extra $17.00 a month to get a stronger signal. I have an appointment with the Cox tech for Friday between 1:00PM and 3:00PM for an actual visit by a tech. So no TV until Friday unless the new stronger signal works. What a mess. I am tempted to go to dish.

A Problem

I appear to be locked out of my own blog by Google. I have no idea what happened and how to get back into my blog to continue the days news. Google had me change my password and I did that and now I can't get into my  own blog. Google is more trouble then it's worth.

Tuesday and a Restful Day

I am going to take it easy today. I am still a little weak from giving blood yesterday.

I fed five cats this morning. The father of Inky even came to  eat. And Scruffie came this time and two blond cats as well as Inky....five in all. I am getting a menagerie here. Their water bowl was completely empty this morning. I brought it in and washed it and filled it. They are all gone now so I will bring in the bowls....all but the water bowl. It is their only source of water around here.

I have had my breakfast and coffee and even a breakfast bar. I am working on my Chai now.

John posted me this morning that they had four new puppies....Cowboy Corgis. Their mother is a Blue Heeler, Octavia,  and Hoover their registered Corgi is their father. They are all four black and white. Cowboy Corgis have longer legs.

I talked to my son, Keith, this morning and he and Esther are both feeling better. Esther was still in bed but Keith was up. They will be working from home for two weeks until they each have an all clear test.

I will take it easy this morning and just read.

So, more later... It seems I cannot get into the blog after it's been updated.

Monday and a Blood Donation

I slept poorly last night. For some reason after months of relief, I had my right arm start to hurt again nearly all night. If that continues, I will have to start wearing my brace again. I finally just got up around 4:30AM. I got myself ready for the day and had my breakfast and coffee and am working on my Chai now. It's 6:08AM now.

I will go over to Coffeyville to the Blood drive at noon. I did my Rapid Pass online this morning and printed it off so that should save me 15 minutes. The last time I went to give, they were an hour late with my appointment and then I learned I had low hemoglobin and couldn't give. I have been eating raisins and grapes and taking an iron supplement ever since. Hopefully my iron will be fine this time. I have the best type of blood. It can be used for transfusions with  any other type of blood. O positive. They are crying for blood. This pandemic has eliminated a lot of donors. Now we have to wear masks while we are there and they are no longer serving treats or sandwiches. That's to keep the donors from being too close to anyone during this pandemic.

It's after  6:00AM now and I will need to text Bob to see if he is o.k. and then watch the "weather on the 8's" and also feed the cats. I hope Scruffie comes this morning. I didn't see her all day yesterday.  I don't know if someone else is feeding her too or what happens when I don't see her for some time.

So more later...

Well, Scruffie wasn't out there. There was just two blond cats and Inky. I don't know what's going on with her.

I watched the news and then started to Coffeyville at 11:25AM. My appointment is at noon and it will be interesting to see if I have to wait an hour again like  last time.

I had to wait about a half hour to be brought back for the interview. I had done the bulk of it online so it went quickly. I was able to print off most of it and that made it quicker then before. I also had my hemoglobin back to normal again by taking iron.

I stayed to do the  job of escorting folks to the water and chip table but no workers asked for an escort. and everyone I was prepared to escort waved me away saying they were fine. I think the were leery of getting the virus from someone who had been there for three hours. And Spenser came to relive me at 3:00PM and we decided the Red Cross had probably told their nurses not to ask for an escort just in case someone developed the virus after they had been there to give blood..for fear of being sued.

A strange thing happened this time. I walked out to my car and drove to Walmart to buy a half dozen things I needed. I felt fine but when I went into Walmart I was so weak I had to go to the pharmacy area and sit down. I was very shaky and was glad to get home.

Then I drank some more water and ate my little package of pretzels and sat in the recliner awhile. Weird...my card says I had given 83 pints of blood over the years. And that had never happened before.

It is 5:14PM now and I am now watching the Channel 6 news. In 15 minutes the CBS news will be on and I will watch that. At 7:00PM or thereabouts, I will take my bath and plan to go to bed at 9:00PM.

More later...

Sunday and Online Church

I always look forward to the Sunday services online. They aren't ideal but at least they are something. And they are worshipful. The sermons are usually good and the music is wonderful. I sing along with the hymns.

I slept well last night. I was up very early but then I went to bed very early too.

I have just finished my breakfast am working on my Chai. It's only 5:45AM so I won't feed the cats this early, I haven't even had the TV on yet to watch "the weather on the 8's". I will do that next. So, more later...

I want to check on Keith and Esther this morning too after they have  chance to get up and around.

I opened the front door at 6:13AM and there were no cats there. That's a first!

I will open it again in twenty minutes and see if any are there then.

There were four cats out there but no Scruffie. I fed the ones that were there  and when they finished, I brought in the bowls.

Then I watched the CBS news.  Later I watched Face the Nation.

I finally got to talk to my son, Keith. They are much better but feeling exhausted. Keith has a 10:30AM appointment to get tested again.

After all that news, I ate another breakfast bar. It's only 10:49AM  but I still was hungry. I don't know why. I had oatmeal and a breakfast bar earlier.

It's about time to log onto the Ontario Canada site and watch the church service so I will get back to this later.

So, more even later....

As usual, it was a very good service.

At lunchtime, I had one of my chicken pot pies...and an ice cream bar and some fruit punch.

Then this afternoon, I read again. When it came time for the CBS News, I watched that. Then later in the evening I watched the Chief's football game and that was over in time for me to tune in to Zoom for the evening worship service.

It's nearly  7:00PM now and I will take my bath and watch 60 Minutes. I recorded it since it was on the same time as the worship service. Then at 9:00PM, I plan to go to bed.
