Saturday and Reading Again

I slept very well last night...was up only once in the night and took my two meds.  I slept later then usual, Was not up until 6:00AM and made my bed dressed and got myself ready for the day. I will check my checking account  and then check on the weather and the cats. They may be out there waiting for me to open the door and bring out their food. It's 6:34AM now..later then usual.

Scruff was out there waiting for her breakfast. No sign of Blondie yet. I took her food out to her. I was back just in time to catch the weather forecast. Today is to be 67 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 73 degrees and partly cloudy and windy. Monday is to be 73 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 59 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 64 degrees and partly cloudy. No rain in the next week and we need rain!.

I watched the CBS news until it was over and then I read until I finished my latest book and then took it to the library and dropped it into the book drop for their used book sale.

By then, it was noon and I drove down to Copan and went to their Copan Restaurant and had their small chef salad for my lunch. 

Then later I stopped by Mr. G's and had their small butter pecan flurry for dessert. 

Then I came home and checked my mail. I had no mail yet but the mailman was in my neighborhood so perhaps I will get something later this afternoon.  I will see. I could take my walk this afternoon. It appears to be 53 degrees and it would be warm enough to be comfortable.

More Later..

I never did take my walk. In fact, I read most of the afternoon. I got my City of Caney bill in today's mail. and I did pay my City of Caney bill and put it and the check in the box reserved for that at the city hall. 

Then I read all afternoon on another of the books Denise gave me.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and put my pajamas and robe on and will read some more until my bedtime at 9:00PM or thereabouts..

Friday and Laundry and Dusting

I slept well again last night and was up shortly before 5:00AM. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I was up once in the night and took my two meds at that time. Then I decided to wash my jacket. It gets makeup on the collar and every once in a while I have to wash it or it looks dirty. I also wanted to wash my towels and underwear. When it was finished I put the laundry in the dryer but could not get the dryer to start. Then I realized, I had the dryer door open. It won't start until the door is closed. So now it is drying my clothes just fine, Sometimes I wonder....

I don't know if John and Leslie will be back tomorrow or Sunday from their cruise. I'll bet they had a wonderful time with her classmates..I think there were seven who went. If I remember there were three couples and a widow who went.

I have had my breakfast here in the den and it's now 6:00AM and I will go check "the weather on the 8's" and the cats. I will take my Chai in the living room and drink it there while I wait for the weather forecast. 

Both cats came for their breakfast and ate and fill themselves and left. I will take the cat food in the garage and cover it as soon as I post the weather forecast. 

Today is to be 77 degrees and AM thundershowers, Saturday is to be 64 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 74 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Monday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 85 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and sunny, and Thursday is to be 69 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! It looks like today is the only day this week that we will get rain..and we really need it!

I will go watch the CBS news and then read. 

And I finished another book. I will take it up to the library in a little bit and drop it into the book drop outside.

I went to the Caney Market and also stopped by the library and dropped that latest book in the book drop for their used book sale.

I have been watching a presentation on how the gospels were derived from Q and other sources. Very interesting.

At noon, I went out to Eggbert's and had a bowl of soup. It was different but very good. 

Now I will get back to my newest book. More Later...

It's 7:22PM now and I have been reading awhile. I just took my bath and got my bed ready to go to bed when the time comes. I will read until I get sleepy. Then I will take my two Melatonin tablets and the allergy pill before I go to bed. That combination helps me sleep better most of the time.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept very well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. The combination of the two Melatonin tablets and the allergy pill is the answer to my sleeplessness. Without sinus drainage I don't wake up so much and when I do, I can get right back to sleep.

Today I will clean the apartment. I usually do that on Thursdays. I have  a regular routine. I have always been highly scheduled. Mondays I go down to Bartlesville to see Nancy at the assisted living home there and take her to lunch and usually we meet Sally for lunch. Tuesdays are usually relatively unscheduled unless it's cookie day at Independence's First Christian Church in which case I go first to our church to pick up the cookies and then on to Independence to deliver them to the First Christian Church there in Independence. Wednesdays I go to get my hair done in Coffeyville and then sometimes to the senior center there afterward if it's game day or Bunco. Thursday is house cleaning day. And Friday is free so I go to the market for what little groceries I use. I eat two meals a week out. I do very little cooking. It's hard to cook for one unless one wants to eat leftovers for a week and I sure don't want to do that..

Only Scruff came for her breakfast, Blondie did not show up. She ate a little but kept looking for Blondie. She is still out there on the driveway waiting for him so I am leaving the food out there for awhile to see if she eats more or if he joins her.  I will take it in a little later if she doesn't eat more or he doesn't join her. Then I will bring it back in the garage and cover it.

I did catch the weather forecast. Today is to be 64 degrees and cloudy and windy, Tomorrow is to be 75 degrees and AM Thunderstorms and wind,  Saturday is to be 73 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 73 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Monday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy.Tuesday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, and Wednesday is to be 64 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week,,,only one day of rain.

I can live without the wind. That usually sets my allergies off.

I started my cleaning and did all the mopping and now am working on the vacuuming.  I have everything done but the dining room carpet but I am tired and need to rest a little while before I do it and clean and charge the sweeper.The hardest part is getting those chairs out of the dining room and into the kitchen and living room. They are so heavy! I can't lift them. I have to drag them into those rooms and then after I do that I have to clean and charge the vacuum sweeper. I am usually very tired when I finish and do the dusting on Friday.

Monday is Sally and my concert in Bartlesville. She will drive this time. It is called "Stomp!" I don't know what to expect. I have never heard of it. But it is entertainment and I like Sally for the companionship. She is very nice.

Back to the vacuuming now and cleaning and charging the vacuum sweeper. That takes a couple of hours.

I'd better get back to it.

I got that all finished and read until 11:00AM when I went over to Sally's to see if she wanted to go with me to Big Cheese in Independence. Her car was there but she was not home. She must have gone off with someone else in their car.

Anyhow,  I went on up by myself and ate at Big Cheese. Then I went to Dairy Queen and bought a small blizzard for dessert. I am full now...that's for sure.

When I got back home the sweeper was fully charged so I put it away. I need to locate those filters on Amazon. I don't know which ones they are.

Now I will get back to my book.

It's 4:45PM now and I just went to the Drug Store to buy some hearing aid batteries. Luckily the Drug Store carries them. I have been reading all afternoon and am tired of reading now. I notice there's plenty of wind this afternoon. wind,... I don't like, It messes with my allergies.

I just had an e-mail from Amazon saying my Prime membership was about to expire. That e-mail sent me a form to fill out telling me my Amazon credit card was also about to expire and would need to be renewed and asking all kinds of personal questions to renew it like my full name, date of birth and social security number. 

That did it! I knew we were never supposed to give out our social security numbers to anyone. So I called the Amazon Help line and got a call from Amazon and talked to a woman and told her the entire story. She put me on hold for a bit and then came back online to tell me that "Amazon" e-mail was not from Amazon.  I told her I had been scammed once a year and a half ago and that would make me more vulnerable for other scams to be tried on me. Twice since then I had been attempted to be scammed again but both times I filled out a police report at our police department. They have an open case on it.  I called the Caney police and reported this scam too. He said his wife had called him and they had the same e-mail as I did today.

Always something! I was so grateful she checked that out for me. I deleted the e-mail!

 It's 5 :41PM now.

More Even Later...

I read until 7:00PM and then took my bath and put my pajamas and  robe on. Then I read until 8:55Pm and decided to read some more. I sleep better when I go to bed later..

 

Wednesday and a Hair Appointment

I stayed up until 11:00PM last night to finish the book I started yesterday morning.  Then I took two Melatonin tablets and an allergy pill and slept very well. I was awake shortly before 5:00AM but didn't actually get up until 5:00AM and then I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

I am having my breakfast here in the den..while I do my blog. I will go in the living room shortly and turn on the TV for the weather forecast.

I will leave about 8:00AM for my hair appointment in Coffeyville. It's at 8:30AM this morning. Before I leave Caney,though, I will drop that book off at the library here in the book drop.They have a used book sale and can make money from the sale of those books.

So more Later...I will check on the weather and the cats. 

Well, I was lucky...both cats came for breakfast this morning and they ate and left,,and about the same time, the weather came on so I will bring the cat food in the garage and cover it when I finish blogging this,

Today is supposed to be 66 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 64 degrees and mostly cloudy and windy, Friday is to be 74 degrees and AM thunderstorms and wind, Saturday is to be 60 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 75 degrees and sunny and windy, Monday is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 77 degrees and partly cloudy and windy. That's the next week. On;y one day of rain and that's Friday. We will take whatever we can get. We need to break this drought.

Now I will bring the cat food in the garage and cover it.

I got over to Coffeyville by 8:30AM, my appointment time. I got my hair done and went to Sonic and ordered a small cherry limeade slush and then went to the Woodshed and bought gas. I dropped by Karan's and she was not home but I left the papers for the dog shelter at her front door with some health newsletters, and then I came on back home. I stopped at our library and dropped the book I just finished last night in the outside book drop. Then I came back home to my apartment and am in the process of reading another of the books Denise gave me.

I took a break to bring this blog up to date.

I have been reading all afternoon in another book Denise gave me. It's 4:27PM now and I had a child's Wacky Pack from Sonic for $2.18 for my lunch at noon. It was filling. I get a tiny coke with it. It's two chicken strips and french fries and that mini coke. You can hardly beat it for $2.18. And, of course, that's only at the Caney Sonic.

If it were warmer, I would rake. but not when it's 47 degrees.

Tuesday and Cookies to Independence.

I slept pretty well last night and I think this week is the week I take the cookies to Independence. I think I have the right week for their Tuesday dinner. I have lost track since it's not every week until June that we provide their cookies..Now It's every other week.

I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

In a little bit I will check out the weather and the cats. Now I will fix myself a cup of coffee and a little later, some Chai Latte and oatmeal. 

I am having my breakfast bar and oatmeal here in the den now. I will be so glad when I have  a laptop computer again. I like to have my breakfast in the living room in front of the TV on a tray.That way I can watch for the weather forecast as well as the cats and do my blog at the same time. 

So more later...after I finish my breakfast.

Today is to be 55 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be  66 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 67 degrees and mostly cloudy and windy, Friday is to be 75 degrees  and AM thundershowers and wind, Saturday is to be 62 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 74 degrees and mostly sunny,  and Monday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week. Friday is the only day with thunderstorms. We need the moisture.

I read until time to go to Independence with the cookies. The pastor was there today and he said they would not be cooking and serving meals during June and July.  They depend on volunteers to do the cooking and many of them will be vacationing in those months. The next cookie day will be the 11th of April. That's the day after Keith and Esther leave here and return to Arizona..

It's 1:15PM now and I have just finished another book. In a minute, I will take it up to the library and drop it in the book drop.  

I am eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for my lunch, I will have something cold to drink next. I have some of Sally's iced tea she left me after we watched the Superbowl. It's been a gallon of tea and I am still drinking on it. :)

I have been reading on another book. I took the last ones I have read up to the Caney library and donated it to their used book sale. It's 4:31PM now.

Monday and a Trip to See Nancy

I slept very well last night after taking two Melatonin tablets and an allergy pill. I was up shortly after 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. The trick, I think, is the allergy pill. I don't get that aggravating sinus drainage.

Anyhow I will fix my breakfast and eat it here in the den after I turn on the "weather on the 8's" and check on the cats. They were both here yesterday and ate their fill.

Only Scruff came for her breakfast this morning and she didn't eat much before she left. I didn't see anything of Blondie. At least not yet!

But I did catch "the weather on the 8's" . Today is to be 57 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 57 degrees and partly cloudy too, Wednesday is to be 66 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 66 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 77 degrees and AM Thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 62egrees and mostly sunny, and Sunday is to be 73 degrees and mostly sunny.  That's the week! One day of rain! It's only 6:56AM now. I have awhile before I leave for Bartlesville and Nancy.

I drove to Bartlesville and went to Nancy's apartment. She was up already and I asked her to dress and get her makeup on so I could go by the jewelry store and get my watch fixed correctly. Then we drove to Copan Restaurant to have lunch. After that, we went on to Caney so Nancy could see the Blackledge building and then we went to my apartment and visited the rest of the time. I drove back to Bartlesville and let her out to go back to her apartment in assisted living.We hugged and I told her I would see her next Monday. 

Then I came home and read the rest of the afternoon and finished the book. I will take it down to the library and drop it into the book drop. They can sell it as a used book.

It's 5:35PM now.

 

Sunday and Breakfast at Church

I slept pretty well last night. I had taken two Melatonin tablets and also an allergy pill. I was up at my usual 5:00AM. I had no trouble with the sinus drainage for a change..

I dressed and made my bed and have mixed up my coffeecake for the church's breakfast and it is in the oven now.  I will fix myself a cup of coffee and a cup of Chai. That should wake me up.

Leslie and John left for Galveston and their cruise yesterday morning. Some of Leslie's classmates planned to go too. I think there will be six couples and one widow. I could be off a couple. It could be 5 couples. They have been meeting on Wednesdays for lunch for some time. They planned this cruise at one of those lunches.

Melissa will be speaking today at church and Kelly, her husband, will run the computer that projects the music and the order of service. I assume Leslie got the bulletins done before she left.

I caught the weather and also the cats. I fed them and they have left now.

Today is to be 56 degrees and mostly cloudy, Monday will be 57 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 55 degrees and  partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 63 degrees and Mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 68 degrees and Scattered thunderstorms, Friday is to be 73 degrees and Scattered thunderstorms, and Saturday is to be 61 degrees and sunny. That's the week! A couple of days of much needed rain.

My coffeecake is baked and cooling now. I will put the glaze on it when it cools a bit. 

I got the glaze on the coffeecake and read a bit on my latest book. I drank my coffee and am now working on my Chai. I will leave for church about 9:30AM. After church I will see if Phyllis wants to eat at Eggbert's where we can get their small chef salad. I will give her another book then.Then after that, I will go out to Coffeyville's El Pueblo and get Jeromy a gift certificate for his birthday on the 2nd of April. Then I probably should get gas out to the Woodshed. 

More Even Later...

I got my gas as soon as I got near Coffeyville. Then I went on out to church. Melissa had a good sermon. 

We had a pretty good congregation this morning and afterward Phyllis and I went out to Eggbert's in Coffeyville for our usual small chef salad lunch. After lunch we saw Mark Wilson, the pastor of the Church of God in Coffeyville and he was there with Rick and Carmen Simmons. They all came over to our table and gave us hugs. For the life of me I could not recall Mark's last name. When I got home I called him to ask him and apologize for forgetting his last name.  It had been a long time since I had seen him and my mind was just blank. I would like to have introduced him to Phyllis If I could have just come up with his last name. Aggravating!

I stopped at the Dollar General store there and got a birthday card for Jeromy. His birthday is April 2nd. I had gone out to El Pueblito and bought a gift certificate for his birthday.
