Bob A. and I went to breakfast at Eggberts this morning.
Later on I got my house cleaned this morning and some laundry done too. Then I went to see Phyllis. She was very tired and not responsive at all. I stayed about twenty minutes. Then I went down to see Gerry. Last week when I went in to see her, she was gone. Today I learned she had been in the hospital last week. She wasn't feeling all that well today. She was very drowsy.
This afternoon the sun came out and I went to the gas station and filled my mowing can with gas then picked up the dog dodo out of the yard. I had intended to mow. Unfortunately, I could not get the starter to work on my mower. So I called Performance West and asked about service. I have to wait until Tuesday and they will come pick it up to repair it.
These things come in threes, they say. I went around to the west side of my house and discovered that the eaves there need to be painted too. So when Jeff comes (when he can work me into his schedule), I'll have to have him paint the west end eave too. There's a couple of days work to scrape and paint those eaves and repair the hole in the east side. I wonder what that will run me?
The trim around the garage needs painting too but I can reach that with my little painting ladder and when I do the framework for my patio cover, I will paint that too.
Keith W. came and picked up my swing this afternoon while I was gone to the market. Good! Now I will have that done. Now all the roofers lack is the corrugated roof over my patio.
Little by little, it will get finished. And it will look nice when it is finished. It may take me all spring.

Off the Blogger Several days
Blogger has been down for several days with only a read only option. So You haven't heard much from me this week.
Today I had Richard out to look at the place on my eaves that is rotting away. He will have to get Jeff up from Bartlesville to repair it. While they're at it, I'm going to have them paint that entire eave. For some reason, it is shedding paint like mad. It may be a couple of weeks but I have no idea how long it's been that way. I just happened to notice it when I was looking at my new roof. I really can't afford to have that work done but when you are buying property, you have to just bite the bullet and have it done. I certainly don't have any business climbing up there on a tall ladder to paint.
Then Leslie called and asked me to come to lunch with her and to run over to Cherryvale to look at those bird baths. She ended up buying the one with the Cardinals on it. It's a beauty alright.
When I got home I had to go to the Dollar Store to get contact cleaner and cat food. By the time I got home it was 3:00...too late to go see Phyllis. I will go in the morning. I haven't seen her since last Saturday.
Next week, Monday through Wednesday, I must go job searching again after work. I think I only have three searches and I need eight. I have just been so busy this week I only got the three. Next week my time sheet goes in on Wednesday and that job search sheet goes in with it.
Wednesday I went with Bob A. to Bartlesville to get his CT scan. Afterward we went to Garfield's for a salad lunch. Then we came back to Coffeyville and didn't do anything else.
Then Thursday I went to Independence after work and took Juanita to lunch and shopping afterward. Of course, I bought nothing but she bought two new tops. Then I took her by Brahms to get her milk. By the time I got my hair done and got home it was 3:30.

Another Mispent Wednesday
Again, my work was very dull and boring. There was some work to do but it was about two hours worth. The other hour I sat and watched my supervisor work.
After work, I went with my brother-in-law to get his CT scan. He should know the results in a day or two. He bought my lunch afterward. We had a nice visit.
Tomorrow, I will get my hair done. I will call Juanita and see if she wants to go to lunch. I did and she did. So I will pick her up after I get off work...I figure I will get there at 11:30. That will give us some time to visit before my 1:45 appointment. Her son is back with her. He was gone for two weeks back to Chicago.
It's supposed to rain tonight and the roofers did not get my brother-in-law's roof on. They have the tar paper on it. I hope they get it finished before the rain comes. I wonder what they've been doing all day while he was gone?
He bought me a nice chicken cranberry walnut salad at Garfield's for my going with him. That was nice and unexpected.
I talked to Scott this morning. He's having a time getting to sleep.

Another Dull Day
Once more my supervisor had nothing much for me to do. The morning drug on forever. In that office there's no way to "make work". I've tried doing a little cleaning but there's so much stacked everywhere that it's hard to do.
When I got home, my brother-in-law came by and visited with me before I left for Independence to contest my property tax. I think I made a good case and might get them lowered.
Then I came home and went to my meeting. Everyone forgot the committee meeting. That was a waste of time.
Later the roofer came by to get his check for the roof. Keith W. is going to paint the swing and they will be back later in the week to put the corrugated material on the roof of my patio. I held back a little of the money until they are completely finished. I am probably going to get some new gutter guard. They offered to split the cost with me and put it on for me at no extra charge. When they are all finished, I need to paint the framework over my patio. Then I need to wash windows.
This evening I watered my plants...even though it may rain tonight. I sure don't want to lose them.
Tomorrow after I get off work, I will go with Bob A. back to Bartlesville for his CT scan. I am concerned about those two polyps that were lymphoma. One was stage one and one was stage two. He needs to find out what's going on in there.

Better Monday
Today was better at work. Sandra had some bills to pay and I worked over the invoices and sent out the checks and that kept me busy for quite awhile. I finished up about ten minutes from quitting time.
This afternoon, I need to go job hunting. I have to do that every afternoon for the next couple of weeks. This is the sheet that I need to send in with my time sheet in two weeks.
I ate my leftover chicken fried steak for lunch. What I couldn't eat, I fed to Slinky.
I did some white wash this morning so I have to get it out of the dryer before I leave.
More later...
By the way, it was brought to my attention that a Jewish newspaper cut Hillary Clinton and another woman out of the photo in the situation room last week.
Cut and paste this link into your browser and you can see both the original photo and the doctored one.
(CNN) – Faith has outweighed fact at Di Tzeitung, a Hasidic newspaper based in Brooklyn, New York.
The ultra-Orthodox Jewish publication ran a doctored copy of the iconic “Situation Room Photo” last Friday – you know, the one taken of President Barack Obama and his national security team during the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound.
Scrubbed from the picture: the two women in the room.
It’s as if Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, with her hand clasped over her mouth, and Audrey Tomason, director of counterterrorism, weren’t there and weren’t part of history.

Interesting, isn't it?
I did go out job hunting this afternoon but only got two applications. I will go again on Thursday. It's too hot to be out right now.

Busy Mother's Day Sunday
It has been a busy day. I went to church this morning and my daughter had a Mother's Day card for me and an invitation to lunch at Tavern on the Plaza. Bob A. was invited too. We had a nice lunch and then I came home and changed my clothes and... took a nap. When I woke up I did my congregational newsletters and got them out on the mailbox for the mailman tomorrow. Then I dragged the trash container out there too.
I watered my new plants. We have a lot of wind today and they had dried out. I forget how much time it takes to water everything. But my yard looks so nice!
The boys both sent cards too Keith called last night and Scott called this afternoon. I have great kids.
I fed the animals before I sat down to watch TV.
Now I am going to watch 60 Minutes and president Obama on that program.
