We may go to Sirloin Stockade this morning for breakfast. Last week, once again, I got a cold breakfast at Eggberts. I am pretty hungry though. I went to bed at 8:00 last night and woke up at 3:30 and could not go back to sleep. I am just going to have to force myself to stay up later.
I got around earlier this morning so I will be hungrier. Eggberts is open at 7:00 but Sirloin Stockade doesn't open until 7:30. Since I have been up so long...I may not be able to wait for Sirloin Stockade.
I have been doing the crossword puzzle from last night's newspaper. That's is something to kill time as well as to stimulate my brain.
I will have to make myself vacuum the apartment today. It has been over a week since I've done much cleaning. I am used to doing it every week like clockwork. I just haven't been up to it lately. All I did this week was wet swifter the kitchen and bathroom floors a couple of days ago.
More later....
I got the apartment vacuumed this morning and also went out to church to prepare for the service tomorrow. I ran the bulletins off and did some cleaning. I also did some decorating. Then I brought the trash home and put it in our dumpster here at the apartment.
Now I have been resting. It is almost noon and I need to go to the market. I also need to go to Brahms and get some ice cream for tomorrow evening. I want to bake my apple brown betty and serve it with vanilla ice cream tomorrow evening.
More later....
I did get the ice cream at Brahms and I lay down and took a nap this afternoon while watching TV. I had such poor sleep last night. Maybe I can stay up later this evening and sleep better tonight. Hopefully! It's quarter after 4:00 now. Maybe I will go to the market and get another apple for my apple brown betty tomorrow.
I bought two more gala apples for the apple brown betty.I also bought two cake pans so I would have plenty this month.
Bob came over at 5:00..after I had had my nap, and stayed until after 6:30. There is really nothing on TV that we are interested in. We did have a bowl of Black Walnut ice cream.
I gave up and went to bed at 8:00 again.

Friday and Cinnamon Roll Day
I slept well last night but only because I took Zzzquil again. I fell asleep on the sofa with Missy and awoke at 8:30 and went on to bed. Then I couldn't get back to sleep and so at 9:30 I got up and took Zeequil and slept well until 4:45. I lay in bed until the apartment warmed up again. I finally got up and dressed and ready for the day at 5:15.
Today I will go to the market and buy some stew meat. Then I will get that ready for lunch in the slow cooker and let it cook all morning with onion, potatoes and carrots. I may get some biscuits to serve with it too. I'll make that decision at the market. I need to get another cake pan too. We do bake cakes next week.
I never was able to get Bob's e-mail to work. He may just have to call a tech. It still has red X's in two places.
Well, Missy is waiting patiently for her breakfast and I need to get mine too so I will get back to this later.
Both Missy and I have been fed now and I am about ready to make my trip to the market. I want to get my stew started.
More later...
I went to Utopia for the cinnamon roll day and my Utopiachina. It's always good. There was a good crowd there. I stayed until I needed to get home and check on my stew. The stew was good. I have not only Bob but his daughter, Denise, for lunch too and then I sent home the leftovers for them to eat.
Denise wants Bob's notebook when Keith gets it finished. She is willing to pay him what he wants for it too. Her laptop is having issues.
I did a load of laundry too. It was mostly just towels.
Bob brought his checkbook over and I wrote his checks for his rent and the administrative fee, Then he left to go catch Rhonda before she closed at 2:00.
This afternoon I need to vacuum again. It's been a day over a week since I did that. I like to vacuum at least once a week. That keeps the cat hair down. That daybed always needs a good vacuuming because Missy gets up there and naps and it always has cat hair on it. I'll wait until she finishes her latest nap before I begin though. She hates the vacuum sweeper. It is so noisy.
I never did get the vacuuming done today. Keith called and we worked on getting Bob's e-mail program going. We finally had to change his e-mail altogether but now he has e-mail.
He came in later and we went through all of that. When he left at 7:00, I took my shower and lay with Missy on the sofa until I just got too sleepy to stay up any longer. Missy and I went to bed at 8:00.

Thursday and Ministerial Alliance
I didn't sleep well again last night. I spent the evening trying to get Bob's e-mail configured and I simply couldn't do it. I have never had any trouble configuring mail before. This outlook.com simply does not want to work. I finally took a Zzzquil about 2:00 to get some sleep.
I will attend Ministerial Alliance meeting at noon today. I worked all morning too still trying to get that e-mail configured. I called Cox for help again and they put me on hold for fifteen minutes. I finally just had to hang up. They were running down my phone by putting me on hold. I talked to one of their techs last night and he gave me all the necessary components to put in. I did that...but still the e-mail won't work. How frustrating!
Bob will be on his own for lunch today. He will probably eat with friends at Sirloin Stockade.
Missy is asleep behind me on the daybed. She sleeps a lot...even more then she did when she was younger. She will be 14 this month.
My younger son and his wife are in Ohio now taking care of some business.
More later...
I attended the Ministerial Alliance meeting and it was very interesting. The chief of police spoke to us about the difficulties in police departments anymore. It is especially hard to find officers when they are expected to police schools instead of the vice principal doing that job. Ours has instructed his men never to arrest a child for fighting in school, He said if that happened in his generation, half the men there would have gone to jail. That's a terrible experience to put a child through. Parents are in charge of teaching their children how to behave in school. Many are not doing that job and that makes society rely on teachers and police officers to do that job.
More even later...
Bob came over in the afternoon and did a load of laundry. He left at 6:30. I never did get his e-mail program to work. The rest of his programs are fine. I e-mailed Keith but he never got back with me. I don't know if he ever got it to work or not. I got all the proper settings from Cox but still it doesn't work.
I took my shower and then fell asleep on the sofa watching TV with Missy. Finally I got up and went to bed but could not sleep because of thinking about that e-mail program. I tried to call Cox again this morning but I was on hold for 15 minutes and needed to hang up before my phone went down again.
Bob did get the little notebook sent off to Keith this afternoon.
What a mess!

Wednesday and an Afternoon of Bunco
I slept well again last night. I awoke about 4:00 to make a trip to the bathroom. While I was up I took my thyroid pill and checked my e-mail and bank account. Scott's donation showed up in the night. Now I can pay my rent. My social security doesn't come in until the 8th.
While I was up Scott called and talked to me. They leave after his work today for Ohio. They will stay until Saturday and try to get all their business taken care of before coming back home.
I will cook lunch today. We will have our tuna cakes and boiled potatoes with a veggie and Bob's salad. Afterward I will go to the senior center to play Bunco. That should wear me out sufficiently.
It has been two weeks today since my surgery.
More later....
Missy kitty lay in her recliner. What a cat!
More later..
I went down to the bank to get some cash and the drive through was all blocked while they work on the structure. So I had to drive downtown to the old Condon Bank building on eighth street to get cash.
Then I went out to Equity and made my rent payment. Now I am back home and beginning to think about lunch. I still am not feeling much like cooking.
More even later...
I had a good time playing Bunco this afternoon. When I got home, Bob's computer from Keith had arrived. I booted it right up and got most everything configured except the e-mail and for some reason, it would not work. I called Cox and the tech there walked me through it with all the settings but it still would not work.
Bob came over at 5:00 and stayed until 6:30 and after he went home I took my shower and lay with Missy on the sofa until I simply could not keep my eyes open and at 8:00 I went to bed.

Tuesday and Hair Day
Today I go to Independence to get my hair done. Afterward I will go over to Juanita's to try to balance her checkbook. Bob will go along to visit his sister, Betty.
I slept well last night. For one thing, I did not have Chai Latte in the evening. I did wake up in the night once and I took my thyroid pill and also one melatonin. I went right back to sleep and slept until almost 5:00. So I am feeling pretty good this morning.
Scott texted me this morning. He has deposited the $200 he donates to me and was I glad to see that! I got my electric bill yesterday and it was almost $300 for January. It is 31 degrees here this morning. But it is supposed to get up to 63 degrees later in the day.
More later...
I am ready to leave soon and will pick up Bob for his visit.
I wrote another letter to the editor this morning. I believe we should share the things that concern you with the constituency of Congress. The best way to reach them is through the "letter to the editor". The clipping service will then bring those concerns to the Congressmen and women.
More even later....
I got Juanita's bank book balanced and we had a short visit. Then I went to pick up Bob at his sister's and we went to lunch.
Afterward I went to the Dollar general store and traded the soft treats I had unopened for some crunchy ones that Missy would prefer. I will give her some this afternoon at 4:45 and see if she will eat these.
I came home and took a short nap. ...about an hour. I will be so glad when this surgery is healed. It simply zaps me.
More even later...
Bob came over at 5:00 and left at 7:00. Then I took my shower and tried to stay awake until 8:20. Then Missy and I went to bed.

Monday and Another Night of Poor Sleep
I awoke at 2:30 this morning and that was it for sleeping after that. Finally, at 4:00, I just got up. I was tired of tossing and turning. I am really ready to be well. And for some strange reason, my sinus's are constantly draining. That stops up my nose and my head. While taking this antibiotic I am not to take an antihistamine so I will just have to deal with it.
Today, they will probably take my Blue Cross/Blue Shield premium out of my checking account. Since the 28th was on Saturday, they didn't take it out at the usual time.
I am really not up to cooking again today but I have to get back to it sometime. I guess we will have tuna cakes and boiled potatoes and a veggie. Bob will bring a salad of some kind. I just don't seem to have the energy to get with it right now.
Marilyn R. gave me her printer yesterday. She was going to throw it away. I thought Bob might be able to use it but he doesn't seem to be interested. We are going to have a rummage sale at the senior center in March and I will offer it for sale and give her the proceeds if it sells. I need to ask her for the manual.
I have a doctor's appointment at 9:30 this morning with Dr. Gillis. I have some material the nurse at the hospital gave me to give to him about this surgery. It must be for the medical records Dr. Gillis keeps on me since he is my family doctor.
More later...
Breakfast is over and I have another story on Missy. I gave her treats as usual. The only difference is that like yesterday, I gave her two soft treats and two crunchy treats. Then I filled her food dish. She carefully flipped the two crunchy treats out of the dish and ate them and left the two soft ones there. She does not like the soft ones. I don't know why. What a cat!
More even later....
I ran my plastic bags over to Genesis...that's the agency we use where in Coffeyville to aid the poor with food. I save my grocery bags for them.
I got out of the doctor's office at almost 11:00 so Bob and I went out to El Pueblo for lunch. It wasn't really what I wanted but at least I didn't have to rush around and cook.
I finally got out to Walmart to get Juanita a new pen. She insists that I lost hers when I went to the bank. I may have...who knows. I felt so bad that day it's a wonder I did anything right.
I tried to open my blog on my desktop computer and it wanted my password. I entered it and it refused to recognize it. So I opened the blog on this laptop. Computers...or Google, at least, can be so aggravating.
I am running down quickly this afternoon. I have been busy all afternoon doing some cleaning out and shredding some files.
More even later...
Bob came over at 5:00 to check his bank account. He stayed until 6:30 and after he left, I took my shower and at 8:00 I could longer keep my eyes open and Missy and I went to bed.

Sunday and a Rough Night
I went to bed at 9:00 again last night but I woke up at 12:30 again and almost never got back to sleep. I have way too much on my mind. There's the infection, Juanita's checkbook, Bob's laptop computer and that all ran through my mind. Finally, sometime around 3:00 AM I dropped off and slept until almost 6:00. That's late for me. I still had to dress, study my church school lesson and make my coffee cake besides feeding Missy and myself. It's almost 8:00 now and the coffeecake will be out of the oven soon. I'd better check it.
So more later...
O.K. the coffeecake is out of the oven and cooling. I will ice it in awhile.
I will go to church this morning. Afterward we plan to go to Cherryvale to "Just Us" for lunch. Then when I get home I will send out my letters. Then I will try to rest and get off my feet.
More later...
My daughter spoke at church today and did a real good job! She shared some of her personal experiences to illustrate the theme. "Listen to Jesus".
After church we went to "Just Us" for lunch. It was, as usual, very good. Kay had saved us a table.
After that, Bob brought me home and I did my congregational newsletters. They are out on the mailbox now. The mailman will pick them up in the morning.
I also did the minutes of the business meeting. I sent them to Leslie to share.
I have read the paper and now I will go lie down and get some rest. I am feeling pretty well right now, considering the lack of sleep.
Bob came over at 5:15 and stayed until 7:00. I then took my shower and lay with Missy on the sofa and watched TV until 9:00, when she and I went to bed.
