Saturday and a Better Night's Sleep

It wasn't perfect but it was a lot better then the previous few nights. I woke up twice and went to the bathroom and then took my meds and went back to sleep. I got up at my usual 5:00AM..a lot better rested. It's 5:45AM now and I don't have a lot planned for my day. If it were warm enough I would do some raking and bagging up leaves but the weather is probably going to prevent that.

I need to get some breakfast done and some coffee made now. I will get back to this after that is done.. 

I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday noon and I could tell it. My stomach was rumbling with the message. :)

I am hoping to get my walk in this morning. It's 45 degrees now so maybe it will warm up enough  to do it this morning instead of in the afternoon like yesterday.  It was a little cool yesterday afternoon but at least I got it in.

I am eating my oatmeal now. and when I finish that I will go turn on the TV for the latest forecast and also check on the cats. Blondie never did come yesterday...just Scruff....and she didn't eat a lot. I put my dishes in the sink and am on my coffee now.

Well Blondie was the only cat out there for breakfast and I took it out to him and he ate. The next time I looked, he was gone and Scruff was there eating. Now she is gone too. That was quick!

I did get "the weather on the 8's" though. Today is forecast for 47 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 52 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 59 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 53 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 64 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 49 degrees and showers, Friday is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week and I certainly hope we get that rain on Thursday. We are desperate for moisture for the Caney River.

I'd better get that cat food in the garage and get it covered. Both cats are gone.

Scruff came back shortly and ate a little more. When she left, I took the cat food into the garage and covered it again.

More Later...

I took my walk at 8:05AM this morning and got about three blocks away before a brisk cold wind came up.  I continued because I was already out there and was not going to stop and go back home over that wind. I was dressed warmly and the only thing that really got cold was my ears so I finished my ten blocks. I got not even a half a bag of trash this morning. Maybe I am making headway on it. But I wouldn't bet on it. The only trash I don't pick up are cigarette butts. I'm not touching those filthy things. The rains and snows will eventually get them.

It's 8:44AM now. So more later...

I read most of the afternoon and then took some mail up to the post office to mail.

Sally and I went down to Copan Restaurant for lunch. I had their beef/vegetable soup..a cup of it, I tend to alternate between the small chef salad and that soup. It's very good! Also I can get iced tea there and Eggbert's is not making it as long as the boil order is in force here.

I read all evening and almost finished my latest book. Then at 7:00PM,I took my bath and went back to the book until I finished it.It's 8:33PM now and I am ready to go to bed.

 

 

Friday and Dusting

I slept fairly well last night but woke up very early anyhow. I just don't consistently sleep well. Maybe I go to bed too early at 9:00PM. When I stay up later reading I do tend to sleep better. And it may be my age too..who knows?

Anyhow, it's 5:30AM now and I am having my breakfast here in the den. Soon I will go check out "the weather on the 8's" and the cats. I will wait until at least 6:00AM to do that. They are seldom out there any earlier.

I will get my dusting done this morning and if it gets warm enough by this afternoon, I may rake leaves in the back yard and bag them up for the trash haulers on Tuesday. My phone says it's only 26 degrees now at 5:39AM.

Well,  Scruff came for her breakfast but I don't see Blondie yet this morning. She appears to be looking for him but continuing to eat too.

I also caught the weather forecast. Today is to be 56 degrees and cloudy,  Saturday is to be 45 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 51 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 58 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 55 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 61 degrees and mostly cloudy and Thursday is to be 52 degrees and showers. I hope we get those showers..we certainly need the water.

It appears Scruff has eaten and is gone. I will leave the food out there for a little while just in case Blondie comes a little later.

I finally took the cat food into the garage and covered it. Blondie never did come to eat. It's 7:11AM now and it's only 26 degrees out there. If it doesn't warm up quite a bit, I won't be taking my walk this morning. That's way too cold.

It's just 35 degrees this morning and that is way too cold for me to take my walk. It will have to wait until it's warmer.

It's10:33AM now and I believe I will go down to Copan Restaurant for my lunch today in about an hour. Sally is working today so she can't go with me this time. I want to get their small chef salad for my lunch with iced tea. Last time I got a cup of their beef and veggie soup. It is delicious! Sally put me on to that. When she is with me, she and I split a piece of German Chocolate pie. That too is delicious! 

I did go down to Copan Restaurant for my lunch. I had the small chef salad...very good.... and iced tea. On my way back I stopped at Mr.G's and had the small butter pecan flurry. Then I read all afternoon,  It's 4:47PM now. I am tired of reading so maybe I can catch the news on TV. If it's not too cold I could even take my walk. I missed it this morning.

I did get the dusting done this afternoon though.I'll give the walk a try.

I got another walk in this evening. It wasn't bad although I got another sack of trash. It's 5:22PM now. I left for my walk at 5:05PM. It's almost time for the 5:30PM CBS news so I guess I'll go turn on the TV.

More later...

I read awhile and the watched the CBS news. Then I played solitaire until I took my bath at 7:00, put on my pajamas and robe and then at 9:00PM, I went on to bed.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning and Laundry

I am having a hard time sleeping again tonight.  I got up an hour ago and took two Melatonin tablets but they didn't help. It's 4:26AM now and I am wide awake. I am going to work over my budget since my car insurance is going up since last year's wreck and the insurance company of the other person involved sued my insurance company. The woman that hit me was driving a rental car and the company she got it from lost several weeks rental while she had to wait to get it repaired. So they sued my insurance company and won. On top of that, all the Kansas insurance companys raised their rates this year too. So my car insurance went from $304.73 a half to $333.63 a half and I lost my safe driver's discount. I will have to wait for my Social Security to come in next Wednesday to even pay that. I was hoping to be able to save monthly for that payment. It's always something. One problem gets solved and another pops up.

I have had my breakfast and even fed both cats. They ate and left and I took the cat food bowl back in the garage and covered it.

I plan to take my walk this morning but everything is behind my usual schedule. I was on the phone with Cox Complete Care for an hour while the woman got my Outlook working again. For some strange reason the one on the desktop would not open and work. She fixed it! It just took awhile.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" and the forecast for today is to be 52 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 56 degrees and  cloudy, Saturday is to be 48 degrees and mostly cloudy, Sunday is to be 49 degrees and sunny,  .Monday is to be 58 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 54 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 58 degrees and mostly cloudy. I see no rain forecast for the next week. That's too bad because we really need it!

I took my walk but it was pretty cold..luckily there was almost no wind. As it was..even with my gloves, my hands were pretty cold. 

I started my laundry after I returned from my walk. I left here at 8:05AM and got back at  8:45AM. I am washing my jacket, underwear, pajamas and towels.

I had better get my mopping started or I will be all day cleaning the apartment. But first I want to have a piece of coffeecake.

So more even later... 

I had my piece of coffeecake and mopped and then vacuumed the bedroom, den, hall and a part of the living room before I played out. I will do the dining room next. I pulled the chairs into the living room and kitchen and am resting a bit now. After I finish the living room, I will plug in the vacuum cleaner to recharge it.

The laundry is in the dryer now. When it is dry, I will fold it and put it away and hang up the jacket on a chair....handy when I need it. 

When I got back from Independence, I put away the laundry.

I went up to Independence this morning to get a blizzard. Then I went to the Caney Market when I got home and bought oleo for my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

My grandson will be here after awhile. He is taking my great granddaughter to basketball practice and then will come over here and put my boxed up Christmas decorations in the attic for me. They don't want me climbing a ladder to do it myself.

It is 2:40PM now. I guess I will read some more.

I read all afternoon and then Jeromy and Maia came and helped me by putting  all the Christmas decorations  back in the attic.

Then Leslie sent me Cheyenne's game schedule and I printed it off to keep. I may got watch her play some evenings.

Then I had better go take my bath since it's 7:38PM now. I have been up a long time.

I hope I sleep better tonight.

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I will go over to Coffeyville this morning and get my hair done and then go out to Woodshed and buy gas for my car.  Then I will sit at the library and read my Kindle until time to go to Bunco at the senior center at 1:00PM. Right now I am eating my breakfast here in the den.

Soon I will go turn on the TV and watch for the "weather on the 8's" and also watch for the cats and see if they will come for their breakfasts today.

So More Later.... 

So far, Scruff is the only cat that came for breakfast...no..I take it back, Blondie is now out there too and they are both eating hungrily. They seem to be sharing pretty well. Sometimes Scruff tries to crowd Blondie out and sometimes he gets angry about that and tries to scratch her face but so far they are sharing well. There is plenty of food for both of them.

Blondie seems to be leaving now and so is Scruff now. She started to drink some water from their water dish but leaves had been soaking in it off and on all week and she decided not to drink from it. I took a clean dish out there with clean water but she was gone by then. If they don't come back soon I will take the cat food to the garage and cover it.

I cleaned my knee this morning and put some more antibiotic cream on my right knee and a clean bandaid on it too. The left knee is just barely scruffed. The right one looks a lot better this morning too.

I finally caught the weather forecast for the week.

Today is to be 50 degrees and mostly sunny and Thursday is to be 53 degrees and sunny,  Friday is to be 56 degrees and cloudy, Saturday is to be 50 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 52 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 58 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 53 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week and we got very little rain this past week when we were supposed to have thunderstorms on Monday. That didn't develop...just a few sprinkles.

It's 6:57AM now and I will leave for Coffeyville at 8:15AM. My appointment is at 9:00AM but if I get there too early, I will get my gas first. Sometimes Toni wants me to come early at 8:30AM but I haven't heard from her text today.

Both cats have stayed gone so I will bring the cat food in the garage and cover it up.

I got the cat food in the garage and by then it was 8:15AM and time to leave for my hair appointment in Coffeyville. I got there just in time. She got my hair done and then I went out to Woodshed and bought my gas.  After that I went to the library parking and read for quite awhile before I went up to the senior center for Bunco. We played until 3:00PM and then I went out to Marilyn's for a visit. I stayed until 5:00PM and then it began to look like it was going to get dark so I started back home. We had a good visit. 

It's 5:39PM now and at 7:00PM I will take my bath and read some more until 9:00PM...my regular bedtime.

I took my bath at 7:00PM just as I planned. I will get back to my latest book until 9:00PM, when I will go to bed. I haven't eaten anything since the snacks at Bunco but I don't need anything else this evening. Those snacks are the only thing I've had after breakfast too.

Tuesday and a Better Night's Sleep

I woke up at my usual 2:00AM and realized I was going to have another terrible night's sleep so I got up and took my meds and three Melatonin tablets. I went back to sleep until 6:00AM. When I finally got up, I realized I was going to need some coffee to clear my head.

I made my bed, dressed, and got myself ready for the day. I hope the weather clears up so I can take my walk again later..I  made my breakfast this morning and will eat it right here in the den. I would also like to do some raking if it's nice enough today. I will have to catch the weather when I go into the living room and turn on the TV. I will also need to check on the cats.

More Later... It's 7:15AM now.

Again, only Blondie was out there for his breakfast. I haven't seen Scruff for three days. I hope she is alright and has not been hit by a car or something worse. I see Blondie has eaten and left now. I will leave the food out there for awhile...just in case...  

I need to take the trash out now. The trash haulers will be by at about 9:30AM. It's only 7:32AM now. 

It's 8:27AM now and I just got back home from the market. When I got out of my car I was looking at my grocery list and fell over one of those things you park your car up to. I got right back up with the help of a couple of the market women employees who were just coming to work. I was so embarrassed.  I didn't think I had hurt anything but my feelings but when later I pulled up my jean legs and looked at my knees, they were seeping blood. I bought some bandaids and when I got home I found my antibiotic cream and cleaned the knees up and put bandaids on them. It's no big deal. The only thing hurt was my knees...and my pride. :) The Caney Market employees were very concerned about my well being. I appreciated their concern but it sure embarrassed me. What a klutz I am!

It's 8:37AM now and I think I will take my walk.

 It's 9:20AM now and I just got back from my walk. I got another full grocery sack of trash along the way. Pitiful!

I called Sally and asked her to go to lunch with me at Copan Restaurant. She was interested so I went over and picked her up. We had a nice lunch of a cup of vegetable beef soup and split a piece of German Chocolate pie. Everything was very good.

Later this evening Stephen came in the apartment and stayed almost an hour before he went home to Owasso. 

After that, I took my bath and put my pajamas and robe on. I downloaded another book from Amazon and read until the CBS evening news came on. About 6:00PM. I went back to the book. I read until 7:30PM and will continue reading the book until my 9:00PM bedtime.

 

Monday and Possible Thunderstorms

I slept very well last night and didn't wake up once . It's 5:44AM and I have made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. If it doesn't thunderstorm I will drive down to Bartlesville to visit Nancy later this morning and take her out to lunch. Maybe we will meet Sally for lunch at Boulevard Diner.

Right now, I am hungry for breakfast. If it doesn't rain maybe I will take my walk. I hate to miss a day. It has been so good for me.

I will fix my breakfast now and eat it here in the den.

I am having my breakfast now.I don't hear any sign of thunder or rain but maybe it's too early yet.

I checked my bank account and nothing new has cleared the bank yet today. 

After I eat I will go turn on the TV and watch for the weather and also the cats. They were both here yesterday morning for breakfast.

I cleaned off the daybed yesterday evening and organized the stuff that had cluttered that daybed for weeks..maybe months. I put the resolutions for the World Conference of our church in April in a folder and labeled it that and put it in my desk here in the den.Then I put the newsletters information about my classmates in another folder and labeled it too. So far only one newsletter has come back but sometimes it takes several days for that to happen.

Later I will also try to organize the desk. Right now it's a cluttered mess. I will find space in one of the desk drawers for all my cards and get some order in that too.

My cousin's widower called me yesterday. He and one of his daughters will come Memorial Day weekend and visit me. They do that every year after they decorate graves in the area. He is a year younger than me. He lived a couple of doors north of my grandma when we were in school back in the past...way back in the past.:)

It's 6:13AM now. 

I finally saw "the weather on the 8's" but no sign of the cats though.I've checked three times.

Today, later this afternoon, the thunderstorms are to come. It is forecast to be 66 degrees and  PM thunderstorms. Tuesday is to be 52 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 49 degrees and  mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 47 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 55 degrees and partly cloudy,  Saturday is to be 47 degrees and partly cloudy,  Sunday is to be 47 degrees and sunny. That's the week! I still hope we get the rain this afternoon. We really need it!

Blondie finally came and ate but I didn't see a sign of Scruff, When Blondie ate and left I brought the food in the garage and covered it.

I watched Good Morning America  and it was mostly about Barbara Walters.

It's 7:15AM and I took my mile walk this morning before the rain starts.  I got another half a big bag of trash. It's 8:46AM now and the rain has not begun yet. I need to get some more breakfast bars. I ate the last one this morning. I still have oatmeal and Chai and Hazelnut coffee.

I did get my desk organized! It looks a lot better now.

I waited until a little after11:00AM to start to Bartlesville to visit Nancy and take her to lunch. She dressed quickly and we went to meet Sally. We each had an omelet and they were very good.

When we were ready to leave and got in the car, it sprinkled. But that was all it did.  Sally said the rain was supposed to start at 4:00PM or thereabouts. It's only 2:38PM now. I sure hope we get the rain. We need it so badly. I wanted to get home before it began. I went by the car wash there and it still wasn't open. So I just came on back home.

I started a new book. I don't think it's one I will be interested in though. 

We are under storm warnings here in Montgomery County. Most of the activity though is in southern Oklahoma.

I did go out with several large yard bags and trim the mums back though and pick up the leaves out of the flower bed and mulch. That needed to be done and today was nice enough earlier in the day to get it done.

I was watching the weather man on channel 6 as he talked about the weather.

It's just past 8:00PM and I am thinking of going to bed early tonight. There is nothing worth watching on TV. The weather has taken it over anyhow.

Sunday and Breakfast at Church again

This was another bad night's sleep. I awoke at 3:00AM and could not get back to sleep. I had somuch sinus drainage it kept me awake.I finally just got up at 4:00AM and turned on the TV for the weather forecast. I caught it at 5:48AM.Today will be 64 degrees and AM fog. Tomorrow will be 66 degrees and thunderstorms. Tuesday will be 47 degrees and partly cloudy. Wednesday will be 44 degrees and mostly sunny. Thursday will be 43 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 53 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy. I hope we get that rain tomorrow. We really need it.

In a little bit I will go make my coffee cake for the breakfast at church. Our breakfast will not be until 10:00AM this morning instead of 9:30AM as usual so I don't need to get it done as early as usual. It's almost 6:00AM now.

More Later...

I made up my coffeecake and put a glaze on it. I used some of the pecans Leslie gave me yesterday evening.  It turned out fine and I took it to church for the breakfast today. I left about 9:15AM to get there by 10:00AM. Leslie was sorting and putting away Christmas decorations. I helped her some and made some labels telling what was in each covered box.

We will meet again on Thursday to do the sanctuary decorations. There is a lot there too. 

After church, John and Leslie were going to the Independence's  Brahms for lunch and she invited me to join them..so I did. In fact, they bought my lunch. I didn't intend that and I had my money out to pay for my own but they got it before I had a chance. That was nice of them. I had the small chicken strips and fries and ice tea. It was good.

I still plan to go down to visit Nancy tomorrow and take her to lunch if it doesn't rain torrential rain. I found some small zip lock bags in the counter under the sink I put the leftover coffeecake in them and will take it to Nancy .

More later..I charged my Kindle this morning and so I will go read again. 

I played solitaire instead.  I never did get back to the Kindle. I have read so much lately that I am tired of it. I am waiting for 60 Minutes to come on at 6:30PM..(they are later because of football games on CBS).  

After that, I will take my bath and put my pajamas and robe on and maybe I will be up to reading then.
