I slept pretty well last night. I took my usual Zyrtec and it seems to help keep me dried up and that helps me sleep.
Today I will go to church (I am presiding this morning) and afterward, I will meet Ed and his wife, Carol, at Sirloin Stockade for lunch. Ed is one of my classmates. He and I went to first grade in a country school together. I sat behind him and he pulled my long curls. We were both very short...in fact...the shortest kids in the class....and the teacher, Miss Troutman...always told all the kids to put their feet flat on the floor. neither Ed nor I could reach the floor so she had the janitor nail a two by four under each of our desks so we could put our feel on the floor. That worked! And twenty five years later, I attended a meeting at that same school and those two by fours were still there.
So today I will meet Ed and his wife, Carol, again for lunch. They are back here for the Memorial Day holiday. Later today, my cousin's widower, Everett, and their daughter, Tricia, will be coming back to decorate graves. They will drop by the apartment and visit too. I hope to be home by then. Everett has my number so he can call me to check on me before they come.
I have baked the coffeecake and it is cooling on a rack and is out of the oven. When it is cool, I will put an icing on it and take it to church school for the class. I will go early and do the worship service. The theme is "Open Our Minds to the Scriptures" and Bill is speaking. I will probably put out all the scriptures in the bookcase and make a worship center out of them.
More later....
I met Ed and Carol at Sirloin Stockade after church. This is the photo his wife Carol took of us after lunch.
Just look at that old woman! 81 years old and pitiful!
I got home from lunch just in time for Everett and Tricia to call and say they were on their way to my apartment for their visit. The arrived about five minutes later. They stayed longer then usual. Everett is 80..soon to be 81 on June 1st. He still gets around well for his age. I wish I had taken their photos too but we got busy visiting and I forgot.
Bob came over as soon as they were ready to leave so they stayed around a couple of more minutes. Then Bob stayed to read the Sunday newspaper. After they all left I got my newsletters done and out on the mailbox. They won't be picked up until day after tomorrow since tomorrow is Memorial Day.
I was very tired after that and lay down with Missy to watch TV for awhile.
About 8:00, I took my bath and watched TV some more until 9:00 when I finally went to bed.

You look young and accomplish more than most folks half your age!!
So glad you got to have this reunion!
You look very nice and I agree with Sister-Three. You accomplish more and are so active! I'm 86 and do not do nearly that much. I keep house and feed us and the dogs... and that's about it! Thankful to be able to do that much!
Thank you, Sister Three! I look in the mirror each morning and see an old woman!
And Marlu, There's a lot of difference between 81 and 86 at our age. However, You do an awful lot still for 96.
Margie, I think you look great. My mom is 82 and she also looks great and is spry just like you. I've been reading your blog a long time, but I'm not one to comment a lot.
