In The Rain
Did you see Obama out in the rain yesterday campaigning? Now that is a dedicated campaigner! I understand that John McCain canceled his meetings yesterday. Of course, the old man has to worry about catching cold or worse yet, pneumonia. There's a lot of "crap" out there on Obama. This morning at the beauty shop a women said she got an e-mail telling her that Obama was born in Kenya. She believed it. That's ridiculous. But I advised her to check out FactCheck.org . It's a non-partisan site that corrects "mistakes" on both sides.

Yes, I saw him in the rain, Margie. I am surprised McCain has held up as well as he has. I figured he would be in the hospital by now. I bet he is ready to collapse.
I bet so too, Judy. I am 72 and I know how I feel when I just have a busy day...a normal day.
How can you be so sure that Obama is a better candidate? Is this just a question how healthy they are?
Oh dear, this whole election is so sad.

Not at all. It's a matter of issues. As far as I can see, and I have studied both plans, McCain doesn't have a workable plan.
Obama, on the other hand, knows the only way this economy will recover is with jobs. If the jobs have to be government jobs, repairing America's infrastructure, then that's acceptable. That's how the country pulled itself out of the great depression.
Obama is the better candidate by far because he has run the best campaign we've seen since 1992.
McCain promised to run an honorable campaign that focused on issues, but as we've seen since the Republican conventions, it's the same old name-calling, character assassinations, whispering campaign, insinuations, and all out lying. They can run on the issues because they can't win. Their only hope of victory is convincing enough Americans that Obama is a Muslim terrorist who will destroy America from within.
After eight years of a disasterous Republican presidency, our country is already destroyed from the great economic times of the Clinton years.
There's no question that when all is said and done, McCain's reputation as an honorable guy is trashed. He'll be remembered in history as the Republican who was screwed by Bush twice...in the 2000 Republican primary and again in 2008 with Bush's toxic presidency.
For all who value decency, McCain simply cannot win this election. It would be an endorsement for Rove-style politics of personal destruction rather than running on hope, optimism, and ideals.
I agree, Nicholas. He has ruined what little reputation he had left.
