I slept well last night after the mattress was turned. I may not need a new mattress after all.
I got up shortly before 5:00 and got Missy's and my breakfast and emptied the dishwasher. Then we went outside...Missy's favorite thing. She has been very good thus far this morning. She is lying here on her little white mat now and has been for fifteen minutes or so. We went around back earlier and I pulled up the tomato plant and tossed it in a trash bag and threw it into the dumpster. Later on I will use the dirt for the enlarged flower bed I plan for the spring...if I'm still in the apartment in the spring.
Kansas is in such a financial mess, thanks for governor Brownback who did not expand Medicaid and eliminated taxing business in hopes of drawing business to Kansas. That didn't work at all. The entire state is struggling. He has taken all the money he possibly can from the highway fund and every other source he can think of to fund education and everything else. He doesn't seem to have learned anything from the Reagan experience. "Trickle down economics" does not trickle down in a greed driven type economy...which is what capitalism is. Those who do not study history, tend to repeat the mistakes of the past.
All the property taxes will be going up 35% this year and Betty may decide to try to raise the rent again. I simply cannot afford any more rent. I would have to try to find an income based apartment somewhere. When she bought these units she raised the rent $25. a month and cancelled the group TV that Wayne had had to pay for our TV. She had intended to raise it $50. a month but the four of us said we would have to move if she did that. Now she will have the excuse she needs to try to raise it again. As it is, she only has it mowed twice a month regardless of how bad it looks. Wayne had mowed it every week.
I will pick up Bob for exercises in about an hour. Afterward we may go to Utopia for cinnamon rolls and coffee. I may get another Utopia Latte. Those are so good..although expensive. I only do it twice a month.
More later....
We did go to Utopia and I did have that special drink. They give us another smaller one to take home and put in the freezer. I will probably have it this evening.
We will eat later this morning....actually about 12:30. That cinnamon roll was extra large and extra good!
We ate lunch about 12:30 and it was good! I sent one piece of chicken home with Bob and took one to Marilyn. Marilyn is not feeling well today. She is dizzy and nauseous.
I read most of the afternoon. Later this evening, Bob came back to watch the news and Brooks and Shields. Marilyn called to ask me to take her to Urgent care so I left Bob watching the TV and took her up to Urgent Care on Eleventh Street. They were very busy. After about 6:30, they got her in and after another half hour, they sent her out with a prescription for an antibiotic. They say she had an inner ear infection. I took her out to Walmart, the only place with an open pharmacy. They are open until 8:00 and Marilyn barely made it. After she got her prescription filled, I brought her back home. I hope that takes care of her problem. I will check on her later. She sleeps late.
I took my bath and watched "The 80's" on CNN until 10:00 and then I could no longer keep my eyes open. So Missy and I went to bed.

Utopia Latte sounds good! I used to occasionally buy a mocha from a nationwide chain of coffee shops (!) but decided to save some money. I tried Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate Sensation. Good enough for a pick up at home and sort of like old fashioned cocoa Mom used to make!
This is partly frozen and made with crushed ice and added caramel. It is great!
Hope the rent works out. Living just to pay bills!
I do too, Sister-Three. I may have to look for a different place if she tries to raise the rent.
