Sunday and Church

I had quite a night! I woke up at 11:30 and went to the bathroom and then Missy woke me up again at 3:30.  I heard her throwing up. So I got up, cleaned the litter box after she had used it and cleaned up her vomit on the carpet. Then I sprayed Resolve on the carpet and used a clean wet white cloth to clean it. Then I simply gave up and got up.

I have a doctor's appointment in Kansas City tomorrow so I baked my cake this morning. After it cools, I will ice it.  Bob will come over after Phyllis calls him tomorrow to tell him when she has her cake finished. Karan will bake hers today too since she is taking Wendy to the doctor tomorrow.

I dressed and got myself ready for church and then made my little dab of oatmeal  and drank my juice and coffee. I took the trash over to the trash container and noticed the newspapers were here so I took Russell's over and put it on their mailbox and swept the leaves off my carport.......again. Then I came in and read the paper and did the crossword puzzle.

I am probably going to need some rest this afternoon after I do the newsletters. I don't get ESPN so I won't be able to watch the Superbowl this evening. Maybe Alexa can keep me advised of the scores.

More later...

We went to church and had a good crowd there. The service was nice. Sue seemed a little uncertain this time. She had not been scheduled for a long time. She has not been well.

We went over to "Just Us" for lunch and Rick and Carmen showed up there too. We all sat together and had a nice visit.

About the time we got there, it began snowing. It continued all through dinner and when we got out of there , it was coming down briskly.  I texted Leslie about what we were going to do about our trip tomorrow to Kansas City for my doctor's appointment. The roads are bad and slick. She suggested a telephone call for the consultation.  When I got home, I telephoned the hospital and told them about the weather. (if I miss my appointment there is a $300 charge.) They suggested I call again to talk to Dr. P about it at 8:00 in the morning. So I hunkered down for the evening. It was still snowing hard.

Karan did bring her cake over.  I reminded her of it again.

60 Minutes was a rerun so I rented a movie off Amazon for $3,99 and watched that all evening.  It was one of my all time favorites, "Fiddler on the Roof".  I did make a quick run over to Brahms to get some ice cream. They had it on sale for two for $6.00 and they had black walnut and also butter brickle. I got the butter brickle for Bob and Joanne. We can seldom find it since it appears to be everyone's favorite. I will send it home with him if he manages to get over here tomorrow.

I too my bath and got ready for bed before starting the movie. At 9:00, it was over so Missy and I went to bed. I was very tired.

About puking cats, Deb, I think it's either a hairball or just eating too fast and not being able to get it down.

Marlu, since I gave up my Cox TV, I no longer can get NBC either. I can only get CBS and occasionally Fox in the evening. I have only an antenna in the attic and my Amazon streaming through a Tivo that my son brought me last Thanksgiving and my router. I had the very basic tier and it had gone up in price to $112 a month with my Wifi. I simply could no longer afford it.

I understand now. It reminds me when my folks got their first tv (1953). They had rabbit ears and got KTVH, one of the first stations in Kansas...except for Kansas City. No charge except for the purchase of the television set. I wouldn't mind paying for cable if there were no advertising on the tube!!
