I thought this information was interesting since there has been
so much furor over President Obama's executive Orders.

Friday and Meeting Myra for Lunch

This noon, I will meet my friend, Myra, for lunch in Bartlesville. We meet about every six weeks and catch up on everything going on in our lives. Bob will be on his own for his lunch. This is a girl thing. I will try to remember to take some photos for this blog.

I did fix a pot of stew this morning after I got up. Bob could come have some of that or we will have it for lunch tomorrow with biscuits.

I slept fairly well last night. I got up entirely too early...sometime after 4:00 AM but I couldn't get back to sleep so I just got up. I went to bed about 9:30 last evening.  Then this morning I did a load of laundry. In this dryer, it takes an hour to dry towels and jeans. My old dryer in my home over on Catalina, I could dry anything in 40 minutes. But I had to leave that washer and dryer for the buyer of my home. It was a stack set and besides, the washer and dryer here are provided. Oh well...

I have been working on my class newsletter the past few weeks. I may be finished with it. I haven't heard from any other classmates in the last few days. I do have room for another page and a half of sharing. I will attach it to e-mail for those online and print it off for the others and mail it. I still want to send out a few more Christmas cards too before Christmas.  Postage is so expensive anymore.

I mentioned earlier that we saw the Clay Cooper show in Branson.  This is his show's promo. It's a very good show. His wife is a choreographer so there's a large cast of dancers.

Thursday and Back From Branson

We got home from Branson about noon and called Bobbie and Karan to see if they would like to meet us for lunch at Sirloin Stockade. They did and we caught up on all the news.  Karan was feeling fine after she got out of the hospital and even finished up her Christmas shopping. Bobby was doing   as well as could be expected under the circumstances. Still no symptoms of his brain tumor.

Bob and I left for Branson about 6:00 and we got down to Joplin at breakfast time and ate at the Crackerbarrel. Then we went on to Branson and got there around noon. We waited until 2:00 PM to eat and then ate at Olive Garden. It was all good. We did some shopping at the Landing in the afternoon. I didn't buy anything but Bob bought three new dress shirts.  Later on we went to the shopping center and I bought two sale tops at Christopher and Banks.

That evening we went to see Clay Cooper's show. It was very good.  At intermission, he was asking folks for various items and if they had them, they were to bring them up to the stage to give thm to him. I had a rubber band when he asked for that. I took it up to him. As we surrendered our items he had us get up on the stage with him for a contest of sorts. There were six of us. First they played the theme song from an old TV show and we were to guess which one.  Mine was the theme for the Andy Griffith Show but I guessed Gilligan's Island. Then they had up put a potato between our  legs and walk across the stage with it there and drop it into a bucket. Several couldn't do that but I aced it. I won one free ticket to the show and it will not expire until November 30th 2016. I hadn't planned to go back but no one knows so I kept the ticket.

We after the show, we went back to our hotel and I took my bath and we went to bed. Bob showers in the morning so we had no conflict there.  It was a nice hotel too. His daughter had given him the gift certificate for a Branson trip for his birthday in July and this was the first time we had nice enough weather to be able to work out a schedule to be able to go. I was working until October 15th and the weather has been rainy every week since. This week the weather was lovely! So, on the spur of the moment, we decided to go.

We got up this morning and had the hot breakfast at the hotel before packing up and leaving at 8:30.  We got back to Coffeyville at noon.  That's when I texted Bobby to see if they would like to meet us there at Sirloin Stockade for lunch.

When I got home, I unpacked and checked Missy out. She was not very happy to have been left to herself over a day and a half but she got over that soon. I had a litter box to clean up. The I read the paper. I offered to take her outside and she went out briefly but then she saw the male cat across the street and wanted back in so I came in too.  I read both newspapers and did the crossword puzzle in one of them.

It's 3:00 now and I will soon try to plan dinner for tomorrow.  I am taking the leftover ham and potato casserole over to Bobby and Karan for their supper.

By the way, this is my younger son, Scott.  This was taken at my surprise birthday party last Saturday.

And this was me...blowing out my candles. One candle for each decade of my life.

I wanted to show all the cake and the candles. So I made the photo smaller.

This my family!

My grandson and his wife, Melanie. Great kids!

Tuesday and Hair Day

Bob and I will go to Independence this morning for my hair appointment. Afterward we will go Christmas shopping for some children the congregation has adopted to buy gifts. They are living with their grandparents after their mother dropped them off for them to raise. The grandparents have very limited means so the congregation has agreed to buy their Christmas gifts.

I slept well last night. Keith  and I decided to download Windows 10 on Bob's notebook and it sat all night waiting for him to answer a question. He checked on it this morning and it is now downloading Windows 10. Bob's notebook is very slow and we are hoping this upgrade  will help it. Keith will also clean it up. We downloaded Team Viewer on it first so Keith can manage it from Phoenix. I have Team Viewer on my computers so he can help me if I get stuck too. I went to bed at 9:30 and it was working at it again this morning.

After my hair appointment and the shopping trip, we will eat at Great China again. When I get home I will check on the progress of Windows 10 on his notebook. After 4:00 this afternoon, Keith will be free to help us again if we need the help.

More later...

I got my hair done and then went to the hospital to see my friend, Karan. She called this morning and said she had had an episode of Atrial Fibrillation  and was in the hospital. She had gone in the night to the emergency room. This is the friend whose husband has been diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumor. It's like she didn't have enough to be concerned about. Her husband is not supposed to drive but he had to drive himself home. It's only six blocks but he had already done it or I would have  gone to take him home. I had my hair appointment in Independence and I went but I didn't take Bob and I came right back home and went to the hospital to see her. Her heart did not convert until 7:30. She thinks she will be going home tonight. I hope she will be alright now.

Bob and I are leaving tomorrow for Branson to use his daughter's birthday gift and our reservations are already made. I have messed with the notebook that Keith and I upgraded to Windows 10 all afternoon and most of the morning. I hope to get his e-mail working after Keith gets home from work. It needs an upgrade of some kind.  It says it needs to be synced...whatever that means. It says his mail program is outdated.

Computers! Bah Humbug!

Monday and Cleaning Day

I slept like a log last night after that exciting weekend. I stripped my bed this morning and am doing two loads of laundry. I have dressed and made up my face, fed Missy, got the bedding into the washer and put the two afghans Missy uses in the dryer on fresh air. Now the second load of laundry is in the dryer. I will remake my bed and drink my coffee before beginning the apartment cleaning. What a weekend!

More later...

Well, I got the bed remade and the last load of laundry in the dryer.  I also got the vacuuming finished working on my class newsletter and two more family newsletters for their Christmas cards for  my two boys and John and Leslie. I have the bulletin ready for Sunday when I preside at church.

Melissa sent me home with leftover ham so I will fix ham and scalloped potatoes for our lunch. We will have a veggie and something for dessert.......probably fruit.

I had hoped to go out to John and Leslie this afternoon since Mini had only one when I was out there yesterday evening. I wanted to take some photos of them and post them here. But Leslie is gone today.  She and Leeann have gone to Springfield to get rid of all the clothes they saved from the church rummage sale.

I am going to the post office to get a roll of stamps for my class newsletter. I have been working on it the past three or four days. I will wait until just after Christmas to send it out. Some more classmates need to send their news.

More later...

Here are some photos of those Corgi puppies.

Aren't they cute? All five of them made it. They look large in this photo but they really only about the size of my hand.

I got an awful lot done today. I got quite a few Christmas cards ready to go. I took some of them to the post office and some out for the mailman to pick up. I also worked on the Classmates Christmas newsletter. I hope to get it ready to go between Christmas and New Years.

Continuing Saturday's Surprise Birthday Party Story

Anyhow, as you can imagine, I was completely surprised. Many of my friends sent cards and those that attended the party brought cards. This was one of the funniest ones. It was from Jeff and Cyndi.

Anyhow, it was a great party and there were lots of photos taken but not by me. I will post some more later. Right now it's 5:30 Sunday morning and I still have to dress and get my breakfast and then bake my casserole dish. All before time to leave. And Keith and Esther are still sleeping in my bedroom. I slept on the trundle of my daybed in the den.  So more later...after things calm down.

Here's the family:

Sunday was a wild day! The kids left for Wichita  at the same time I left for Sunday School and church. We had great visit!  After church we had our congregation's Christmas dinner. After I got home I did the congregation's newsletter and then got word from Leslie that her dog, Mini, a Gorgi, was having her puppies. I went out there to watch but it took her all afternoon and into the evening to birth all five and I had to get back home to get ready to go to Karan and Bobby's for  the Living the Questions group meeting at 7:00.

When I finally got home to rest, I took my bath and sat with Missy in the recliner and watched that special about Frank Sinatra on CBS. I stayed up until 10:00 and I was exhausted by then so I went on to bed.
