Thursday and a Dental Appointment

I woke up twice in the night and finally just got up at 4:30. I had had eight hours sleep.

I stripped my bed and did some laundry. Missy had wet on the clean towel I put under her litter box last evening. She had gone almost four days without doing that and then she did it twice in one day. Go figure!

My dental appointment is to get my teeth cleaned.  Bob will come over while I am gone and do his white laundry. That's a very small load and he hates to spend all that money to do a small load so I encourage him to do that one over here.

I will get back to this later. I had better get ready for my day. My appointment is at 9:00.  I will need to get my laundry out of the washer and dryer before I leave.

The laundry is out of the dryer, folded and put away. The kitchen and bathroom is cleaned and the floors are cleaned too.   All I have to do later today is warm up the meatloaf for lunch and vacuum and dust. I can get that done this afternoon. I have even taken the trash over to to trash containers...even in this horrible wind.  The leaves are whipping around everywhere. I can't keep my dining room doorway cleared.

We haven't even begun winter and already I am ready for spring.  We are forecast some light snow later this week. I wonder if we will get it. The forecasters are having a terrible time with their forecasts. They can't seem to get them right.

Time to go to my dental appointment. I will get back to this later this afternoon after I vacuum and dust.

I went to my dental appointment and also saw the Dr. for an exam. When I got home I vacuumed the entire apartment.  I still have to dust.

I stopped long enough to make some "cake mix" cookies from a carrot cake box mix I had on hand. I added pecans. They were good cookies.

Bob came for lunch at noon since I was making the cookies. He left around 1:00 to go finish his laundry.

This is my daughter's new hairdo.

I guess I will read some more.

Wednesday and Exercise Class and then a Doctor's Appointment

I slept well last night. Missy and I got up about 5:30 and I got myself dressed and ready for the day and fed myself and Missy.

Bob will pick me up for exercise class this morning around 8:45.  Afterward, he and Joanne will leave for Bartlesville and I will pick up Karan to go to Bartlesville too. I have an appointment at 1:30 with Dr. Eslicker, my dermatologist.  But before that, Karan and I will eat at McCalister's.  At 10:00 we will shop the sales at Christopher and Banks as soon as they open. There will probably be nothing left in my size. Joplin had nothing I wanted and they are a much larger store.  But we will look anyhow.

On my way home, I want to stop at Peck's and buy some hamburger patties. The last time I stopped there, they were closed for lunch.

It supposed to be a relatively warm day with temperatures around 57 degrees and then later in the week we are to have some colder weather and perhaps some rain or light snow. By Friday, it is to be down to 31 degrees. I wish the weather would stabilize and be one thing or the other.

I have a dental appointment tomorrow at 9:00. It's been awhile. The last time I had an appointment, I had to cancel.

I got my social security today with my huge $2.00 a month raise.  The cost of living continues to go up but we seldom get a cost of living raise. That's because Congress has raided money from the social security "trust fund" to pay for war.  They say it's running out of funds because people are living longer now but that's stupid. If we consider the millions of folks who die before they collect a penny after having paid into it all their working lives as well as their employers contributions, there should be plenty. I paid into the fund and so did my employers for fifty years and yet when Bob died, I lost mine and only get his. So they should be money ahead. Congress needs to stop raiding the fund.

Gripe finished!

This sounds interesting!

"Five hundred years after the Reformation of 1517, Christianity is once again in crisis. In failing to adapt to advances in our thinking and spiritual perspectives, it has clung to outdated concepts and has tenaciously defended dogmas formed before major advances in human thought had occurred. For John Shelby Spong, the creeds have become simply unbelievable. In this, his final book, Spong outlines twelve “theses” to help today’s believers contemplate and reshape their faith at a far deeper level.

“If you choose just one book of John Shelby Spong’s, then choose Unbelievable…. Here is something different that asks us to think deeply, ‘live fully, love wastefully, and be all that we can be.’”

I may buy that book.  I am obviously a progressive.

I picked up Karan at 10:00 right after exercise class. We went to the mall first and Karan bought several things. I bought a top...on sale.

We went on to McCalister's and had a very good lunch.

Then we went to TJ Maxx and I found a coat for the cruise. It was on sale for $49.95.  Karan bought some three pound weights for the exercise class.

The  went on to the doctor's office. he said he found a pre-cancerous growth in my left ear and shot it with a freeze. I personally did not see a thing there but then it was my left ear. I have no eyes near the ear. :)

Then we went to the furniture store and to Walmart. Karan is looking for a game table for her living room. She does jigsaw puzzles all winter and wants a table she can leave up year around. She found a large selection of Jigsaw puzzles at Walmart and bought several.

Then we stopped on our way out of town and I bought hamburger patties so Bob and I will have hamburgers and french fries on Friday.

When I got home I swept up some more leaves and took my purchases into the house.

Bob came over at 5:00 and stayed for the news. He left just after 6:00 and I took my bath and put my PJs on and tried to find something to watch on Amazon. Most of that was violence so Missy and I went to bed at 8:30.

Tuesday and Cakes.

I slept well again last night and woke up about 5:30 and just got up and got ready for the day. I picked up Bob at 8:30 and we drove on up to Independence where I had my hair done first and then we delivered the cakes. After that, we went out to Walmart. He wanted to get a new tire gauge. he wanted something else too but couldn't remember what it was. I bought some Chai Latte.  Then we stopped at Goddys and looked around. Neither of us bought anything. Then we went in town to Sayers and spent some time just looking around.  Finally we went out to Great China and had our lunch.

I took him home and then I went over to Shelter Insurance and paid my car insurance. Then I came home and made myself a cup of hot chocolate. I entered my purchases into my computer.

Soon after that Bob came over to tell me he had found someone to clean and wax his bare floors. That should have been done before he moved in and it would have been taken care of my Sycamore Landing.  He didn't notice how much dirt had been waxed over at the time but as he cleaned the floors he noticed most of the dirt was under the wax.  So he's going to pay a young man to strip the wax off and then put three coats of wax over the clean floors. Then he will be satisfied with his apartment.

He went home to take his nap.

More later..

Later, Bob came back to watch the news. After he left, I took my bath and watched a movie on Amazon TV.  Later, Missy and I went to bed at 9:00.

Monday and Exercises

I slept well again last night. I got up about 5:30.  I picked Bob up at 8:45 and we went to exercise class. Then afterward I fixed a meatloaf and potatoes with corn for lunch. Bob brought his coleslaw. I have pudding and cookies for dessert but Bob just had a cookie. I baked my cake after he left and before I went to wash my car, I iced it. After he left I took Marilyn R. a plate of it. She seemed to really appreciate that.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) I will go to Independence and take the cakes to the First Christian Church. Bob will go too and afterward we will go to Great China at 11:00 to eat lunch.

He and Joanne are going to Bartlesville on Wednesday to eat out at Dinks. I  have an appointment with Dr. Eslicker Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. Karan will go with me and we will eat at McCalisters before my appointment.  I want to stop at Pecks on my way home and get some hamburger patties.
We can have hamburgers and shoestring fries on Friday. It's been awhile since we've had hamburger patties.

Thursday we will have the meatloaf again with boiled potatoes and corn. I have a dental appointment that day at 9:00 in the morning.

More later...

I baked my cake after lunch and iced it that evening.

At 4:00 or so, Bo came over to watch the news. He was very sleepy. He left shortly after 6:00 to go home before he fell asleep in the chair.

I took my bath after that and laid down with Missy and watched "at" some TV. I fell asleep till about 8:00 and managed to stay awake until 9:00 when Missy and I went to bed.

Sunday and Church

I slept well again last night. However Missy wet on the towel under her litter box so I did laundry early this morning. I had both bathmats, the towel, my bras in their net bag and anything else I had in my laundry basket.  Anyhow everything is in the dryer now. This is getting to be a real mess. At least once a day she can't make it all the way into the litter box before she wets. That means I have laundry about every other day.

I will go to church this morning and we will eat over at "Just Us" afterward.  I have invited Rick and Carmen to church and out to eat with us afterward but I haven't seen them for several days so I left a note of invitation under their windshield wiper. Hopefully, they will come.

I have had my breakfast and fed Missy too. I read the newspaper. There was a "disaster" at Independence's City Hall. The building is empty since they have been renovating it. But there was a major water leak there over the weekend and everything was ruined. The furniture, the computers, and everything else.

More later...

We had our worship service and dinner afterward at "Just Us" in Cherryvale. Then I came home and did my congregational newsletters.  I had some problems with saving the congregational  2018 newsletter in a separate folder but messed with it long enough to get it done.... finally.

It's a little after 3:00 now and I am finally finished.
Bob came over after 4:00 and stayed to watch the news. After he left at 7:00..after 60 Minutes...I took my bath and read and then Missy and I went to bed at 9:00.

Saturday and a Trip to Joplin

I slept well again last night. I puttered around all morning until 10:00 when Bob and Joanne came to pick me up for our trip to Joplin.

We got there in time for an early lunch. Bob paid for it with his gift cards his daughter and son in law sent to him as a gift. Joanne and I really appreciated that. We had our usual soup and salad...and as usual it was scrumptious.

Then we went to the mall and walked all around there. Bob bought a belt and a shirt and Joanne bought a sweater and a top and later, at J.C. Penney's she finally found a sweatshirt...what she was really looking for anyhow.

I didn't find a thing I couldn't live without so I didn't spend a penny.  I probably would have bought a new top if I could have found any that I liked in my size. They had lots of XL size but few petite smalls.

Anyhow I am back home now and have my registration and check ready for the Dinner Theater bus trip in March in Kansas City.

I will send it in as soon as Bob has his ready to go and can include it in my envelope. Joanne meant to give me hers but she forgot when I got out of the car.

More later...

Bob came over after 4:00 and stayed for the news. He also brought Joanne's registration for the trip too. I put both of them out on the mailbox for tomorrow's mail pickup.

After he left, I took my bath and lay on the sofa and watched TV with Missy.  At 9:00 Missy and I  went to bed.

Friday and Exercises and Cinnamon Rolls

I slept well again last night.

After I got up and made my bed, I dressed, fed myself and Missy and got myself ready for the day. Bob will drive to exercise class today. I drove Wednesday. Afterward we will go to Utopia for cinnamon rolls. (kind of defeats the purpose of the exercises, doesn't it?) :)

I thought about stripping my bed this morning but I guess I'll wait and do it tomorrow. It seems like with all the Missy bathmat problems I have been doing a lot of laundry lately.

I'm not sure what I will do this afternoon. It's too cold to get out. I bought groceries yesterday.

Missy is in on my bed asleep this morning. I have been leaving the door open to circulate the heat better. She loves to lie on my bed. I have been watching the morning news on channel 6.

More later...

At 8:45, Bob picked me up and we attended exercise class. Afterward we went to  Utopia for cinnamon rolls and Utopiachinos. Karan and I visited about our bad experiences at the radio station where we both worked.

In the afternoon I worked on my sermon and the bulletin for January 28th.

At 3:00, Joanne came by and picked me up. She had already picked up Bob. The three of us went to tour the new combination fire station and police station. It is very nice!

We will not have breakfast out in the morning. I will just have my usual breakfast here at home.
Joanne and Bob and I are going to Joplin to have lunch at Olive Garden.  Bob has a gift certificate and is treating both Joanne and me.

I tried to watch Saturday Night Fever again this evening but it was just too sick. I like to watch the dancing but the profanity is a real turnoff.  It is so ignorant for folks to talk like that.

I did watch Brooks and Shields online. I also forwarded it on to to Bob.

Missy and I will just get ready and just go to bed. It is nearly 9:00.
