Friday and Lunch With John and Leslie

I slept well again and was up about 5:30AM this morning, made up my trundle bed and got myself dressed and ready for the day. It's the kid's last full day here. They leave tomorrow sometime in the morning for Tulsa and then fly on to Phoenix. And then Keith will leave in a few days for Rome. I will certainly miss them. We have had such a great visit.

We meet John and Leslie at 1:00PM today at Copan Restaurant for lunch. Leslie will not be on call today. It is 6:25AM now and I will go turn on "the weather on the 8's" on TV and check on the cats too.

Both cats were out there so I fed them and when they finished and were gone, I put the cat food back in the garage and covered it again.

I also managed to catch the weather forecast for the week.

Today it will be 82 degrees and sunny. Saturday is forecast to be 85 degrees and partly cloudy and windy. Sunday is to be 89 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Monday 84 degrees and mostly sunny and windy, Tuesday 83 degrees and thunderstorms, Wednesday 72 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Thursday 75 degrees and showers. More rain, it appears!

I have been watching the CBS  news. Of course, it's all about the massacre in Texas this week of 19 school children and 2 teachers.

Esther and I watched TV for awhile but after we counted 8 commercials in each commercial break, we turned it off.

I imagine when Keith and Esther are dressed and ready, we will go down to the park and see what Mayfest booths are there. Right now they are dressing.

More later...

We went down to the park and walked around and looked at the exhibits and Esther bought a hot dog.

Then we went to Copan to meet Leslie and John for lunch. We had a very nice lunch and even dessert. Then we went to Bartlesville to the store where we got the new phone and they fixed it so it does notifications when someone texts me and even puts a colored dot next to the text that I was notified had come in.

Then we came back to Caney and went back to the park to see if there was anything new there since morning. There really wasn't much new. I was very tired and they brought me home and did some more exploring by themselves. They even went out to Copan Lake and looked up the class Leslie was having a reunion with.

Then they came back to my place and eventually I warmed up the roast I had fixed for Wednesday's supper that I didn't serve and warmed up the veggies too and the potatoes and green beans and also served the coleslaw.

We watched TV until 8:30PM and then I took my bath and got myself ready for bed. When I finished my bath Esther told me Scruff was out there wanting supper so I took the food out there and she ate her fill and then I put it back in the garage and covered it.

I plan to go to bed sometime after 9:00 or 9:30PM.

The kids will be leaving sometime after noon to catch their plane in Tulsa.
