Monday and An Appointment With Cox

I slept well last night but it was cold last night. I turned the furnace on this morning when I woke up. Then I dressed and got myself ready for the day. It's 48 degrees now according to my phone.

The problem with the TV could be their obsolete piece of receiving equipment. It's a Motorola and two different techs have told me it's obsolete and they don't even use that brand more but they also say because of the Tivo it's the only receiver that will work with it. I notice the red light does not come on when it's attempting to change the channels now. The Tivo has two lights that are on when recording.

Right now the only way I have TV is to record the signal directly to the Tivo.

For example, I am recording the weather channel so I can get "the weather on the 8's". That's how I watched "Lucky Dog" on Saturday and "Bull" and "60 Minutes" yesterday evening. Weird!! I imagine it's the Tivo. They say it's old and perhaps obsolete. But as long as this works, I will do it this way.  I like to record everything this way so I can eliminate the commercials.

I have had my breakfast of oatmeal and juice. Both cats were out there when I was going to take my trash out to the dumpster so I fixed their food and took it out to them first and they ate until they were full and then I brought the food back into the garage and covered it and then put the trash in the dumpster.

 More even later...

The Cox man came to look at my TV and I learned what had happened.  They have made the lower numbered stations high definition channels and will be eliminating the higher numbered channels from their programming. That's why I couldn't access those higher numbered channels anymore after Saturday. I tried 06 and 08 and the other lower numbered channels and they all worked fine and they are high definition now.

After the Cox tech left I went down to Tate Boys and bought four new tires and had my alignment checked and then had a re-alignment  done too. Then I had the oil changed and there was also a mount and balance fee on the new tires. The final bill came to a total of $554.90 but that should hold me for awhile.

Then I went to visit Nancy and took her for a ride to get her out of that place.

I got back home about 5:00PM. It is almost 6:00PM now. I need to get some bread and some shaved ham at the market tomorrow for lunches. I will also make a pot of .Broccoli Cheddar soup for lunch. I may buy a small roast too. I need a couple of potatoes and some carrots to slice into that roast.

I turned on the TV to watch the weather and I couldn't get it. In fact of all the channels I was supposed to get, I only got 7 channels.

I called Cox...again. This time I got three different techs. The third one was able to help me. After 25 or 30 minutes he finally got my TV to work. I was exhausted after that.

At 7:00PM, I took my bath and put my pajamas and robe on. It is 8:23PM now/I have had a big day. Tomorrow, I will clean the apartment.I didn't clean last Thursday when Dean was here.

I will clean tomorrow and do some laundry too.

I will take my bath at 7:00 PM and plan to go to bed about 9:00PM..maybe later.
