Sunday and Church

I slept poorly. I took an Aleve before bedtime and awoke at 2:00AM to go to the bathroom and take my med. I also took a melatonin tablet but it didn't work. I was never able to get back to sleep. The right arm ached the rest of the night and I got  up at 4:00AM, dressed and made the bed. I will eat some breakfast after I feed Missy her treats and cat food and check her water.

I am not sure where we will have lunch today. It will be up to the others. Phyllis may drive today although Bob will be bringing his pumpkin bread so that's not for sure. I will need to get some gas sometime today too.

Maybe I will finish my book this afternoon.

More later....

This is a book I’d like to challenge every citizen to read it is “The Fifth Risk” by Michael Lewis. Lewis is a bestselling author who has written several other best sellers. The one I recall the best was “The Big Short” and had to do with the mess we encountered as a nation in 2008.

The real story of the crash began in bizarre feeder markets where the SEC doesn't dare, or bother, to tread: the bond and real estate derivative markets where geeks invent impenetrable securities to profit from the misery of lower- and middle-class Americans who can't pay their debts. The smart people who understood what was or might be happening were paralyzed by hope and fear; in any case, they weren't talking. It was obvious he had done his research and I read this one and shared it with many of my friends…..especially those who had lost their shirts in the market or their homes to foreclosure when they became underwater.

“The Fifth Risk” is about the ineptitude of the present administration running our country and if the 2008 crash gave you nightmares, this one will keep you awake nights. Lewis is easy to read but he a genius at research and telling the real story most of us don’t know for sure but only suspect.  He has research the facts.

I challenge people who care about what this country is going through and this administration is doing…or not doing… to read this book.

We had lunch at Great China and I brought some of mine home. It was very good but I decided not to eat it tonight. I might not sleep well.

At 5:00 I tried to watch the Cowboys game but the TV kept tearing so I gave up on it and watched some more Amazon Prime. That is streamed.

At 7:00PM I took my bath and laid down with Missy to watch Forensic Files until 8:30 when I could no longer keep my eyes open. I went on to bed and Missy soon followed. I took my melatonin when I went to bed hoping to help me sleep.
