Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept pretty well last night and was up about 5:00AM, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I have even had my breakfast and checked my e-mail and bank account...nothing new there. 

I opened the front door to five very hungry cats. They growled and hissed at one another and there were bowls for five cats. They must have been very hungry. They are all out there eating like they hadn't eaten in weeks and it was just yesterday morning. I think I saw Scruffie out there too. Inky and Blondie are also out there and two other yellow cats. I have to be very careful taking their food out there. They tend to want to get under my feet and I have to nudge them out of my way.

After the "weather on the 8's" is over and the channel 6 news comes on, I will switch channels. I also watch the CBS news but when their commercials come on I start washing the kitchen and bathroom floors. Then during the entire morning, I vacuum during the commercials. That's about the only thing they are good for.

Speaking of the weather, it is supposed to be in the 50's here for several days before dropping back into the 20's again mid week.

I got the bare floors mopped and the vacuuming done. All I lack is the dusting and I have the rest of the day to get to that..or even tomorrow when I have nothing on my plate.

Maybe I will just do it now. It's only 10:30AM. 

I got most of the dusting done today. 

I went over to Nancy's and took her the nut bread I brought home from the senior center yesterday. It took awhile to raise her and when she came to the door I could see she was sick to her stomach again. I didn't stay. She wasn't up to having company. I will try again tomorrow.

The mail came at 3:00PM, I have no idea what has happened. It is usually here by 11:30AM. It was this late yesterday too. And a strange mail woman is delivering it. Oh well, I am just used to having it earlier.

It's 3:35PM now. I have called Evergy ( formerly Westar) to see if I can still pay their bill online. They sent me a bill that requested a check. They have a great deal of calls right now and will call me back within 30 Minutes. At least that was what I was told. We will see. They did call me back and told me I could still pay their bill online so I scheduled it.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and then I watched the CBS news and then turned off the TV and went back to my latest book. I stayed up until 11:30PM and finished it. Then I went to bed.

 

Wednesday and Bunco

 I slept off and on last night...very restless night! After I finally got up and dressed and got myself ready for the day, I opened the front door to five cats...three yellow ones and two black ones..Inky included. I didn't see Scruffie this morning and I am going to be leaving in five or ten minutes to go to Coffeyville to pick up Bob for breakfast. So I will need to get those food dishes back in or the possum will come and eat their food while I am gone. Plus I don't want to have to buy another double bowl and a neighborhood black dog tends to carry those off.

I will get back to this after I get home from Bunco this afternoon at the senior center. It's time to go pick up Bob now.

I got over to Coffeyville  at 6:50AM this morning and Bob and I had a good breakfast at Eggberts.

Afterward I took the newspapers I had collected over to Karan's home and she will donate them to the animal shelter where she volunteers.

Then I went to Toni's salon and had my hair done. 

Next I went to wash my car again and  I cleaned it out inside too. I walked around the Antique Mall and looked for anything I couldn't live without. :) Unfortunately there wasn't a thing there I couldn't live without.

I went up to the senior center and sat in the car and read my Kindle until time for the Bunco game. We all had a good time although I ate too many sweets in the snack break. We all had a good time. I got home at 3:45PM and dropped by Nancy's to call her. She didn't answer the phone so I assume she was sleeping. Nancy is sleeping her life away. 

I came on home. I had hope to share some of the leftover banana nut bread with her. Later... after I got home I tried to call her again but to no avail. 

I checked over my mail and mailed off a couple of bills. 

I haven't seen the cats this afternoon. Maybe they finally realized I will only feed them once a day and I fed them this morning..all but Scruffie. She didn't come to eat.

In about 15 minutes, I want to watch the CBS news so I may get back to this later.

Otherwise I intend to take my bath at 7:00PM and go on to bed at 9:00PM. I slept poorly last night so I may sleep better tonight.

 

Tuesday and Cake Deliveries

 I didn't make it to the end of "Bull" last night. It was a rerun anyhow and I had seen it earlier. I went to bed at 8:40PM and slept fairly well.

I was up close to 6:00AM this morning and dressed, got myself ready for the day. I fixed my oatmeal, had a breakfast bar and coffee and am working on my Chai now. I checked my e-mail on all three computers and deleted what is extraneous. 

Then I opened the front door to five cats. Yes, I said five! There are three yellow cats out there and two black cats..one of them is Inky and the other is his father. They are going through that cat food like they hadn't eaten in a month. And Scruffie isn't out there. 

I have watch "the weather on the 8's" and will turn to the channel 6 news next. It's  30 degrees out there and fair skies. It will be in the 50s this week until Saturday when it will get back down in the 30's. 

I will meet Bob in his parking lot at 9:00AM and pick up the three cakes from his trunk. He has Phyllis' and Karan's as well as his own. Then I will take them up to the First Christian Church in Independence for their dinner this evening.

Tomorrow is Bunco at the senior center and I will go back over to Coffeyville for that too. I may have breakfast with Bob first at Eggbert's at 7:00AM if he is willing. Then I will get my hair done at 8:30AM and perhaps a pedicure before having lunch somewhere and then going to the senior center to read until 1:00PM.

I got over to Bob's around 9:00AM and loaded the cakes into my trunk. While there, I asked him to breakfast in the morning and he agreed.  I will pick him up at 7:00AM tomorrow . Then I went up to Independence and delivered our cakes. I came back home by way of Jay's store at Tyro but he was closed. I was going to pick up my treat for tomorrow's Bunco game at the senior center. I will have to get something at Country Mart tomorrow.

I have my dental appointment at 11:15AM today and that's about 45 minutes from now.

Monday and a Very Cold Day

It is 27 degrees this morning and that's very cold!

I was up at 5:00AM, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I have checked my e-mail and had my breakfast.

I just checked the cat situation and there were four out there. Three yellow cats and Inky...no Scruffie this morning. 

I had no problem with the cricket last night and I slept fairly well. 

It's ground hog day and the weather channel is covering that this morning.

I don't have a plan for today. Tomorrow will be busy. I will go over to Coffeyville to pick up the cakes and take them to Independence at 9:00AM to the First Christian Church there for their Tuesday evening meal. After that, I will come home to Caney for a 11:00AM dental appointment here. It's just a cleaning and exam. I have one twice a year.

There is a huge snowstorm this week in the northeast of the nation...all the more reason why I never want to live any further north then southeast Kansas. I am not a winter person.

I just looked out to see if the cats were still out there and saw that Scruffie is out there eating now that some of the yellow cats are gone. Inky is still there. and Blondie too. She is both their mother and they get along. After she ate her fill she drank some of the fresh water and then left. She may have wanted to get back to that small yellow kitten.

It's 11:26AM now and I have been watching the news and a program I had recorded as well. It's almost  time for lunch but it's also about time for the Zoom meeting I planned to attend at noon. I may wait until after that to eat.

I sat through the Zoom meeting but I wasn't impressed. It was supposed to have been a dialog that the people who joined the meeting could participate in. The moderator had two guests there and the three of them dominated the conversation. Those of us who attended the Zoom meeting had very little time for input.

The meeting was an hour and a half  long and of that only fifteen minutes was given for the several groups of us to discuss the theme. That time was spent discussing Black Lives Matter ...not "Toward the Peaceful One".

When it was over, I warmed up the last of Suzanne's soup and had cheese and crackers with it. It was very good. It is 2:39PM now and I just read the papers she left in my mailbox on the porch. She may have come for the rent while I was trying to participate in the Zoom meeting. The rent check was in the porch mailbox where we always put them and she took it alright.

I read some of the afternoon and then went by Nancy's again. She was asleep but woke up when she heard the phone...finally and was glad to visit. She and I visited until  6:15PM when I came home and took my bath at 6:45PM. I will watch the news and then stay up to watch "Bull", my favorite TV program.

After "Bull" is over I will go to bed.

 

Sunday and Church Online

I woke up at 3:00AM with my shot arm hurting. I couldn't sleep without getting up and taking some Aleve. Then I got  back to sleep until 5:00AM when I got up and dressed, made my bed and put my face on. Then I went into the den and checked my e-mail and finally fixed my breakfast of oatmeal, cranberry grape juice and a breakfast bar with coffee and then Chai.

After that, I checked on the cats to be fed. There were four out there....two yellow ones, Inky and what do you know! Scruffie was there. luckily I had put several bowls out there..the double dish which the siblings eat from without conflict. That left three bowls for the other two yellow cats and Scruffie. I was so glad to see Scruffie. I was afraid she might have had a fatal accident.

I am watching the channel 6 news now. I haven't even checked the "weather on the 8s" yet. There was a touch down of a tornado at South Coffeyville last evening during the tornado warning.  That's about three miles south of Coffeyville into Oklahoma. I haven't heard of any problem though. It appeared to be in a field when the news showed it. One of the channel 6 storm spotters videoed it touching down.

Scruffie appears to have eaten and left out there. The only ones left there are the siblings Inky and Blondie. The others have eaten and left.

At 11:00AM I will check the Ontario Canada worship service and this evening, at 6:00PM, I will watch the Springfield, Missouri one. Other then that, I don't have  a plan for the day except to continue reading. I am thawing the other soup Suzanne gave me for my lunch. I still have cheddar cheese and crackers too and some more punch to go with it. That will be good. 

The only other news I have is that while I was dressing this morning, a sound of a loud cricket  sounded. That critter is still there. He has just been quiet the past week.

It's almost 9:00AM now.  I have been watching CBS news for awhile. Soon I will watch Face the Nation next. I am a news nut. 

So..more later.. I watched Face the Nation and then went back to my Kindle book. About 3:00PM, I went out to Dollar General and bought about $20.00 worth of groceries and then dropped by Nancy's house to call her. I let the phone ring 5 times but she never picked up. She is probably sleeping again. David's rental car was gone. He was leaving either yesterday or today to  go back to South Carolina. 

He was not able to convince her to go into a nursing home in Bartlesville...again. I convinced him they were death traps during this pandemic. The one he tried to put her in last year had 27 deaths from the Covid19.

I went by later again and this time I not only called but also rang the doorbell three times. Then I taped a note on her front door. I was never able to raise her so I gave up.

I went home and put away my groceries. Then I read the rest of the afternoon and finished that book.

I downloaded another three books.

About 6:00PM, I logged onto the Springfield worship service. Afterward, I took my contact out and took my bath and put my robe on and came in the living room to watch 60 Minutes. 

I had recorded it since the church service started at 6:00PM and so does 60 Minutes.

It's 8:38PM now and I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM.

Saturday and Rain

 I slept well last and night and didn't wake up once. That's a first for a long time. I dressed and got myself ready for the day. I don't have a plan for today. Everything is done. 

I was in the den on the computers there and I heard a cat meowing loudly outside in the  back yard. That was a first. I went in the living room and opened the door to three cats...very hungry....two yellow cats and Inky. It was raining lightly...very lightly.   So I filled their dishes and took them out through it. I set the bowls just under the overhang of my small porch area and they immediately dug in. Now three are out there eating. but no Scruffie. I haven't seen her for awhile. Inky and his sibling are the only ones out there now. I hope Scruffie is alright. I think it's been a week since I have seen her. And longer then that since I have seen her little yellow kitten. 

I watched the news for awhile and then it came time for "Lucky Dog". So I watched that. They have changed the host for the show and I  miss the old host of the show but it is still entertaining.

I read most of the day then went out to Sonic mid afternoon and bought  a junior hamburger, tater tots and a medium coke. That just appealed to me for a change. 

Then I went back to my book until the CBS weekend news came on.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and read until 9:00PM when I went on to bed.

Friday and All Caught Up Again

 I slept like a log last night. I got up shortly before 6:00AM and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I don't have a thing on my menu today.

After I finished my breakfast I looked out to see if there were any  cats waiting for breakfast too. There were four there...three yellow ones and Inky..no Scruffie again. I took out a double dish and three singles. They have plenty of food out there if she should show up.

Everything is caught up but I do need a couple of things from Dollar General. I will go out there later this morning. I need some more Chai too but I can't get that at Dollar General.

I guess I will read again today. I finished another book yesterday.

About 9:00AM, the Montgomery  County Health Department called to offer me an appointment for today for the pandemic virus vaccination at 10:45AM. I took it.  So I put my shoes on and drove over there. It was the Maderna shot and I will need to go back over there on the 26th of February to get the second shot. I went over there and got the first one and went out to Walmart there for the few things I needed and then washed my car and dried it and then came back home.

I still had two of Leslie's meatballs from last Sunday and now I had the frozen veggies too from Schwan's so I put some of them in the skillet with a little oil and browned them to go with the meatballs. That's what I had for lunch with some of that red punch.

Keith called this afternoon and it was really good to talk to him. He got another test and it came back positive. So he still has to work from home until he gets a negative test.

Then I read until 4:00PM.  What a day!

After 4:00PM, I turned on the news and later the CBS news.  

I haven't heard another thing out of the cricket since I heard it that one day so this morning I put away the trundle of the daybed. I hope I haven't done that too soon.

There's nothing on TV that I am interested in so I will read in my Kindle again until bath time and then bedtime.

I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM unless I get involved with a book again. Then I may be up until 10:00PM.
