Saturday and No Plans

I slept well again last night and after dressing and having my breakfast, I opened the door to five cats waiting for their breakfast. Scruffie was there and the black cat, Inky and three yellow cats. One of them is probably the neighbor on State street's cat....the father of Scruffie's kittens. I didn't see the new kitten this time.  I put the new food in the dish and put a small covering of Meow Mix on each one. That encourages all the cats to eat the new food. That one bag of Meow Mix had lasted several weeks.  I think Scruffie is gone now.... probably went back to the new kitten...probably across the street.

I don't have a plan for today...after I dust today. I will probably read again.

More later...

I decided this was a good day to make my peanut clusters. I had all the ingredients and I just had to go out to Dollar General to get waxed paper to drop them on. I have made 70 peanut clusters and found a dozen Christmas tins to put them in. I will give them to my kids and also to friends...maybe even my neighbor. I will give a tin to Nancy and one to Suzanne and Steve. Nancy will have to hide hers from Gina or Gina will take them way from her. She doesn't want Nancy to eat candy....as though it's any of her business. Nancy is not a child.  She is 86 years old and can decide for herself what she wants to eat.

I took peanut clusters over to Nancy this afternoon and turned on the TV right away after I gone home.

I saw on an NBC news bulletin that the virus has developed another even worse strain that is a lot more contagious.

I don't know what that will do to the virus and whether the new vaccinations will keep it in line or whether it will even work with the new strain.

Just what we needed just as we were beginning to have hope that it will soon be gone by this summer.

I will watch TV more this evening and see if there is any more news about it.

It's 6:00PM now and I plan to take my bath at 7:00PM and read this evening until bedtime at 9:00PM.

The little new kitten in the picture on your blog yesterday was a cutie, peeking into your house like he/she was.

They all peek into my apartment. They think they want in but the one time one of them got in, they were terrified. It hid under my bed, knocked over some stuff and broke some stuff. Finally I tossed an afghan over it when I managed to get it into a corner and then I took the afghan out front to let it loose. That was a mess! I have been careful not to let them in ever since. That's why I take their food out through the garage instead of out the front door.

The new strain occurred in the UK...its not unusual for viruses to mutate. According to our specialists the mutation shouldn't affect the vaccine.

It is worrisome to think that the new mutation in England is even more contagious than the original virus. I think that the more cases of the virus we have, the more chances there are for mutations, but I also read that they think the new vaccines will still be effective against the new mutation.

My daughter will be bringing our baby grand daughter into this world within a week or possibly two weeks. I am so happy, excited, and nervous about our daughter and grand daughter. I don't think I have ever done so much praying before. Two children in my grandson's class were quarantined last week because they were sitting in the cafeteria near a child that tested positive for Covid. Thankfully, our grandson was sitting far enough away that he didn't have to quarantine. I hope the other children exposed don't get the virus. My daughter lives about a half hour away from us, but in a different county. St, Louis county and St Charles County are having a lot of cases right now. More in St. Louis County.
