Sunday and Church

I slept fitfully again last night. As I was in the den working with the computer, I heard a huge "bang" louder then any fireworks and seeming to come from Brandon's side of the duplex. I thought about it for awhile and then decided to have it checked out...just in case. A policewoman came over to check on it an she said she couldn't get anyone to answer the door but she looked into the windows and couldn't see anyone in there. That put my mind to rest. If anything had happened over there and I didn't report it, I would have been really sick about it.

I went on to bed after that. Laura, who is one of Nancy's caregivers and is a nurse and lives two doors down across the street, texted me to see if I was alright. I told her about reporting that loud bang and she said she also heard it and was also alarmed. But she was concerned about me. I thanked her for her concern and went on to sleep. It was much too loud and close by to have been fireworks but it must have been.  That was my excitement for the week.

I got up close to 5:00AM and made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for church. I have been eating my breakfast. I haven't checked the news or the weather yet. I heard a couple of the cats fighting awhile ago so I know they are out there. It's 6:20AM now. I will leave for church about 9:30AM or thereabouts. I want to go into Coffeyville too and go to the bank. I spent the last of my money on the mowing yesterday.

So more later...

I went over to Coffeyville  a little early this morning. I wanted to go to the bank and get some money and also go out to Walmart to get my face wash. I bought it a couple of days ago, but for some reason, I didn't get home with it. I searched the apartment but could not find it. So I bought it again.

I got out to church early enough  to sweep off the walks and turn on the sound system. I also made copies of the blank attendance records.

Karan had a good service and it was  a communion service too. Afterward, Phyllis and I went over to "Just Us" and had dinner. Karan went with John and Leslie and the rest of the group. Phyllis and I just wanted a regular full dinner.

I see my duplex neighbor is mowing this afternoon. It has been three weeks since he mowed so it really needed it.The back was at least a foot tall. The front was not quite that tall but still not within our contracts. Evidently the loud noise I heard last night was fireworks. It did sound like a gunshot. Even my neighbor thought so.

I will read this afternoon. I am still working on one of my Kindle books.

Well, my neighbor mowed his back yard this afternoon and made a mess in my yard. His cut grass not only went on my cement slab at my back door but also all over my nice neat grass by the fence. I took my broom out there and swept off the cement slab and took my shears out and trimmed the grass sticking through the fence from his side. A real mess! I cleaned it up the best I could but his cement slab is covered with the grass that will undoubtedly blow under the gate and onto my clean cement slab. After it cools down a bit, I will bring my mower around and run over the mess he made on my neat yard and pick it up into the bag on my mower.

It's 5:19PM and I just filled my mower with gas and took it around back and cleaned up the mess he left on my yard. It looks fine now.

I will go watch the rest of the golf tournament and then 60 Minutes after the CBS news. The golf tournament is running overtime just like last week.

More even later...

I watched the rest of the golf tournament and then 60Minutes.  They interviewed Ken I fed Blondie and he was the only one that came for supper. The animals are all scared of the noise. It is 7:44PM now and I want to get the hummingbird feeder in and change the nectar. It's about time.

Oh yes, I heard another of those tremendously loud bangs...like a gunshot. It turned out to be some kind of a bomb and the boy across the street set it off.  That's what I heard last night too.

I will now read until am tired enough to go to bed. That will probably be between 8:00PM and 10:00PM.
